Loved it! It was fascinating to watch the steam and see the mud boil but you have to put up with the strong smell of sulfur.

Great place for tourist. You can see lot of information there, like the hiking track path in the 3D map, geogolical drilling information, the live earthquake motion with seismograph, the history of the volcanos and so on. You can also use this place as a shelter if you want to take a rest after hike and its raining. And also, the toilets was very clean.

My first visit to Xiaoyoukeng which is a high mountain where the sulphur purges out from the mountain...the videos show the temperature is 100 degree Celsius. Worth visiting in Taipei

A place for nice photoshoot but expect some pungent smell from sulphur.. there are constant smoke come out from the mountain, yet still can be an ideal photo taking place.

It’s a very very beautiful location! Unfortunately there were quite a few tour groups over the weekend, but definitely would recommend going in the early morning before it gets cloudy (went in Dec).

Truly a scenic view up here. With its open space, it’s usually cold and windy here so bring something thermal to wear.

There’s a short trail you can take leading you to a platform.

I think a 30-minute stay here is enough.

There’s also a Muslim-friendly toilet here.

Great place to visit. It is possible to take public transport, about 20 to 30 mins wait. The sulphur smell is not too strong. It is an easy walk. The views are great and worth the short climb.

I have visited this place 5 times now and it is one of my most favorite thanks to the sightseeing decks, many hiking trails, fresh air and feeling that YOU ARE STANDING ON A VOLCANO!

The only issue with this place is that the public transportation is usually very busy and it takes a lot of time to get here.

So I usually drive my scooter here.
They have a plenty of parking space for scooters and cars here.

It's a good hiking trail and we had lots of fun here. The smoking volcanic craters and the heavy smell of sulfur impress the visitors and we can't help getting excited. It takes long traffic from downtown Taipei by public transportation but it's worth all the efforts. 👌

One of the three visitor centers you can visit before or after starting the trek up Mt. Qixing in Yangminshan National Park. The other two trailheads would be Lengshuikeng and Miaopu. I started my trek up the mountain with the Lengshuikeng trail and ended with Xiaoyoukeng. That way would be considered one of the "full circuit" trails. And imo, taking pics and vids of the various many fumaroles beside the Xiaoyoukeng trail is better if you're already on your way down. Each visitor center has restrooms and vending machines where you can either do your business before heading up or after you're done with the hike. I rather liked ending with the Xiaoyoukeng trail more because the view of the steam vents was better appreciated while snacking and having a drink.

The last time I was here with my daughter the fog was so heavy we could not walk from the parking lot to the entrance. I promised to bring her back, and I’m glad I was able to keep this promise.

This is a highly accessible vista point to see the special geological formations, namely the presence of magma chambers underground, their associated vents, the gases that bubble to the surface, and the traces of yellow sulfur left on the rocks near the vent.

My kids read about volcanoes and magma chamber, but this is a real opportunity to show them in person.

There are also hiking trails that start from this location that head higher to Qixingshan.

Really nice serene place so easy to get to from the city. Enjoyed the volcano, the orchid fields and numerous picturesque views of the city. The bus station is efficient and punctual. Enjoyed my trip to Taiwan and this place was one of the highlights.
