Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The young lady who served us was Melissa. Wonderful local wines. You can sample six wines for free if you purchase a glass of wine. They have seating both inside and outside.

We had a wine tasting experience with Erdi. For 400 lira we tasted around 24 different wines, most were local but also were some from different regions of Türkiye. I really enjoyed the wine and Erdi’s commentary. He’s a very knowledgeable wine expert and speaks English fluently. Our wine tasting was for one hour but we ended up staying for 2 hours. We would have loved to stay for some hot wine after the tasting but we unfortunately had to leave for a flight to Istanbul

Very positive experience sitting on the patio outside this wine cave, enjoying the Avanos sunset vibe. Melissa offered generous samples of their by-the-glass options so you can choose your favorite. An expansive cave holds hordes of vintage wines among various rooms used for tastings, seminars, and group visits. They apparently have their own winery (Kalvi) nearby producing several different labels (Kalvi & Nova), plus a hotel above the cave. Definitely worth a visit; glasses of wine were 200 TL each...quality has a cost.

The experience surpass expectations. Erdi was very knowledgeable and friendly. He explained not only the type of grapes and flavours but also the history of wine in Turkey. We also tried other liqueurs from the area and Erdi’s homemade honey liqueur.

Eddy our host was very knowledgable and friendly. Told us about the culture history of each of the wine we tried. Snacks were great too and we got to taste different types of wine that I didn’t even knew existed before.

Amazing wine tasting here, we tasted 20+ wines and the owner's passion towards wine is contagious. They're the only ones offering a true tasting experience complete with the history and background of all the wines- I walked away learning so much! Will definitely be back next time we return to Avanos :)

You must go there, especially for wine tasting in order to get a true cultural experience in Cappadocia. Erdi is very friendly, and he makes you taste 25-30 different kinds of wines from all over Turkey - starting from white wines, then rose wines, then red wines, and then fruity wines. He gives you information about every kind of wine. He himself is a student of tourism, so he is a professional when he attends his guests and explain things. And the experience was a very personalised one too. I would definitely recommend going to Salkim Sarap :)

Erdi was so knowledgeable and explained the wine making process in a way that was easy to understand. This was the first time in Turkey we could get a full understanding of wine history in the country and taste quality wine where there was no sales agenda but rather just a sharing of great wine and culture.
Highly recommend doing a tasting with Erdi and buying a few bottles to enjoy on your trip.

I highly recommend visiting here for the wine tasting experience. I came here with my partner after finding their experience listed on Airbnb and Erdi give us a wonderful experience about the unique wine culture here in Cappadocia, as well as other regional wines that are unique to Turkey. We purchased a bottle ourselves, because there were so many unique options to choose from.

We liked the wine tasting very much. We tasted wines that I never tasted before. Also, we got a lot of information about the wines and the wine culture in Turkey.

We did a wine tasting 150 TL per person. The amount of each wine was small but we tasted about 30 wines including some very unusual ones. We liked being able to experience so many local wines without needing to purchase expensive bottles. I do feel sorry for the Turkish wine industry because the super high tax on alcohol makes average wines very expensive. Eddie is a great guy and a great host. He even makes his own wine (we even purchased a couple of his reds). We really enjoyed our experience.

The wine tasting was a fantastic experience that is incredible value for money. The owner is very passionate and knowledgeable about wine and grapes and will happily answer any questions that you may have. He offers an extremely large variety of different local wines for guests to try, with explanations to go along with each one.

He is very accommodating, and will go above and beyond to ensure that his guests have the best experience possible. I’m very happy that I had the opportunity to visit, and would definitely visit again!

Ah! It is a must-visit spot in Avanos for a perfect ambiance and delicious wines. Semi-sweet red wine, only available here. You should definitely try it. Beware, it can be addictive.
