Located right in the Chiang Mai “walled square”, it’s an unique black and gold temple🛕. It was not crowded and not many tourists go here, there are Buddhist monks you can have a chat with or you can just pass by and enjoy the beautiful details.

The temple is located in the walled city and just a short walk from the three kings monument. It is easy to access by foot.

This is free to enter, you are expected to dress modestly and respectfully, and remove their shoes before entering the viharn.

Wat Inthakhin Sadue Muang in Thailand (late 13th century). It's clear in every corner and in every smiling face all around. It's really appreciating the beauty of nature and renewing energy at local temples, and being grateful for everything. In this temple, for example, there is a tree full of golden hearts, where everyone makes their prayer and leaves it on the tree to be blessed!

Step away for a few minutes from the markets in the old city to view this wonder. Also don’t miss out on the Wat Chedi Luang which is a few minutes walk away

It appears that in the past, a shaman had to decide the 'center of the universe' after which a central city pillar was put into the ground and Chiang Mai was built; the location which is now marked by this temple.

Small and quiet.

Main temple is in wood.
Stupa at the back

Wat Sadeu Muang, Chiang Mai
The stupa at Wat Sadeu Muang is believed to contain the relics of King Mangrai. According to the local legend of Chians Mai and the Yonok Annals, King Mangrai was struck by lightning and died when he was in the city's market, where a stupa was later built by Phraya Chaiyasongkhram, his son, to contain King Mangrai's ashes.
The stupa is a Lanna-style bell-shaped stupa (resembles the principal stupa at Phra That Harpunchai in Lamphum).
During its restoration, traces of a pavilion stupa were found inside this stupa. The pavilion stupa was commonly built during the time of King Mangrai, which corresponds with the story recorded in the legend.
When Wat Sadeu Muang was established into Wat Inthakhin Sadeu Muans, its assembly hall was also restored in
Lanna style. The temple is one of the most important historical sites and most often visited in Chiang Mai.

If you're in the vicinity, make sure to visit. It's a charming, compact temple located in the city's core."

My most favorite temple in Chiang Mai.
Not so big and impressive like many others but also not many tourists there and a lot of lovely details which you can experience.

They’ve decorated the ceiling with a myriad of colorful paper lanterns, which was stunning to look at. Beautiful smaller Buddhist temple.

Very close to the city center. It’s not the biggest or most famous, but it’s easy to get to, and it wasn’t crowded when we were there. The best part was that we got to see a group of monks chanting as we passed by. It was very fun to see! I didn’t want to bother them or disrespect them in any way, so we did not stay long.
