Viang luang Resort

Located in central Chiang Mai (old town), the hotel is conveniently located next to many of the major temples that are on your sight-seeing list! This small hotel has a quaint and rustic family feel to it, and the hotel staff were absolutely lovely. I tripped over (due to clumsiness!) and the hotel staff not only called our hotel room to check on me, but also came up without being asked with ice and bandages! My friend also left her sunglasses in the hotel lobby, and the staff very kindly mailed this back to her at no cost. Really lovely service and very kind people!

Note: there are only three floors in the hotel but no lifts (just for info as we weren’t aware of this before!) and there is no proper air conditioning - there is a ceiling fan (but it wasn’t the best!). However, this wouldn’t stop us from staying there again, we really enjoyed our stay.

A beautiful place to stay!! The rooms were very clean and spacious and had a nice balcony to sit on. Breakfast was very good and the pool area is lovely. Highly recommend!!

Great location, friendly staff willing to help out with anything. Clean, spacious rooms and clean pool which is accessible easily. In general a nice hotel with a nice vibe. Breakfast is also pretty good.

We were 4 days in the hotel and we enjoyed it very much. Location is great and the service and people are excellent. The rooms are good, the shower is a little unstable in terms of hot water. The breakfast is more asian food oriented but okay. From the hotel
You can walk to tempels and the Sunday market is around the corner. As an example of the great service was that they sent the baseball cap my son left in the room the the next hotel in Bangkok, free of charge. This all was arranged by email, phone and whatsapp contact. Great service. Would strongly recommend this hotel.

So far, I love this hotel. The staff are professional and quick to respond, the room is big enough and clean, and the pool looks nice. The pool can be a bit small if your family has young kids. For couples or alone travelers, it is good enough. The location is not bad (very close to the Wat Cheang Luang and pretty close to the Thapae gate) but I couldn't find a local market to buy fruits or night food stalls nearby. The neighborhood is very focused on tourists. I personally prefer the southern part of Old Town.

The staff is outstanding! Rooms are nice, beds comfortable & balcony fabulous. The location is perfect if you like being in the old city. Air conditioning cooled room off quickly. Breakfast was just ok for us. They do make consistently good eggs if that's your breakfast choice.

For the size and quality of the room, the price here is great. We had a king size bed, washroom with both a shower and tub as well as a sizeable balcony. Breakfast is also included in the price.

The staff were very friendly throughout the stay, offered some recommendations and helped us store our bags in check out day (so we could explore the city while we waited for our flight).

Great hotel in the middle of the old town. Close to the main teple, Tha Phae gate and walking street/market. The hotel is decorated in traditional style and even though it is a bit older it is well maintained amd really clean. The bed is comfortable and we slept well. They also have a pool that was really clean during our stay. For us it really complemented our stay in Chiang Mai because of its Thai ambiance. The breakfast is buffet and has both Western and Asian options. They will make espresso or cappuchino if you ask. The staff are soo kind and polite.

Great boutique hotel in Chiang Mai. Stayed at this property for 5 days. The location is central with easy access to the various temples. The room was great, really good air-con it was able to keep up with the humidex at 48 degrees Celsius. The breakfast was very good and had many options to choose from. All in all a great spot to stay if in Chiang Mai.

great hotel in a great location, close to everything. staff are first class and welcoming. good breakfast with a variety of choices.. Close to walking markets, only down side is hot water is a bit hit and miss but who needs hot water in Thailand any way. will stay there again no problem.

Absolutely stunning resort! We loved our stay and wish we could have spent more time at this resort (and in Chiang Mai!). First of all — Chiang Mai was our favorite city we visited. Staying in Old Town was so fun — there’s lots to do but the area is also very walkable. The resort is gorgeous — fantastic breakfast and they even let us check in early when we arrived by overnight train. We appreciated that laundry was available on site — after a few really hot days in Bangkok, we were happy to refresh our wardrobe here. Thank you so much for having us! We hope to visit again soon!

Nice and cosy hotel in a quiet side street in the center of old town Chiang Mai. We had a spacious rooms with wood applications and stylish tiles for an exotic thai flair. There's no long range view to be expected from the balconies, but trees and leaves in front. The staff is friendly and breakfast is ok. Overall we had a relaxing stay.

Such a pleasure to stay here at Viang Luang Resort! The room was very cozy with a balcony overlooking the courtyard with a pool. The pool was nice to relax and swim around. The best part was the resort staff!! They were such amazing hosts, very good at what they do and such genuinely nice people. Will definitely visit again soon!

Good location, a lot of restaurants nearby, close to sat and sun market.

Staff are very nice and they prepared meal box for me as I left early for the local tour and could not go for breakfast buffet.

The best hotel during our trip in Thailand. Great service, beautiful room and nice people. We recommend it.

The location is just minutes from Wat Chedi Luang. I love the room so much as the room is huge and clean, with a pool view. There's a sign that forbids people from hanging clothes on the balcony. No lift in the hotel, but the highest storey is 3 storeys. I will visit again next time.
