Brilliant selection of second hand books. I showed the title of a book I’ve been looking for and the lovely lady went to the shelf and handed it to me. Over the moon. Fabulous selection and fabulous service.

Great bookstore with so much variety, something for everyone! I believe it is cash only, but there’s an ATM right outside.

Great experience at the book store. Lots of English language books to help supplement our reading. Friendly staff and a cozy feeling all round.

I really like this place. A great selection of books from every genre, they also sell really good quality cards that are hand made. and worth buying if you want to send something unique to friends and family.

Yes there is a no photo sign for the place but to be honest these are all over Asia these days. My take is if you are there to purchase a book you don’t need to take a photo of the place, or do it from over the road discretely. My personal experience was good, the ladies that served me were very helpful and friendly, I never once felt I was being watched or felt unwelcome, and I have been here a few times.

We've come here 3 times on our trip. They will buy books back from you for half the price once you've finished with it so you can get a new one. Great selection of English books

Mostly English but also few in French. 60 Baht bin. One of the few businesses open during Covid.

This is one of the better used bookstores in Chiang Mai. Even though it's not one of the larger ones, they have a wide selection. Though used, the books seem new / in good quality and are reasonably priced. If I'm not mistaken, there were also multiple copies of what appeared to be new books there. I did not notice any rudeness from the owner as other people have complained about. In fact, I found him very pleasant as he remained sitting at his desk the entire time I was there.

This place is well stocked, clean, and exceptionally organized. The thing that struck me was the affordability of the books over the lost bookstore which is highly rated. The owner was kind of indifferent so I can see why some people don't like the attitude but I didn't care. Prices are VERY good better then lost I was upset when I found the same books in better quality at 60 to 90 baht less then I just purchased them. The place is also more spacious and better organized without so many other farangs breathing on me. All in all the best bookstore I've been to in CM and I've been to then all (for newer books I think it's suriwong book center that's good I can't remember)

You can get 50% of your money back when you return a book purchased from here. Great selection of classics, most books 100-300B.

Edit: I often use my phone to look at a review of a book. Never had an issue, been here dozens of times. Not sure what everyones problem is with just not taking pictures for the 10 or so minutes you are in the store...

Extensive selection of books in English. Fiction classics, non-fiction, poetry, plays, political, postcards, history, spirituality, maps, sci-fi, Y.A., dime store romance, coffee table... Most books around 200 baht. Really amazing selection

They have a great selection of used books for cheap. They are also quite friendly. My experience here was fine and they had a book I wanted for 40 baht cheaper than 4 other places I visited.
(There are several good book stores in CM)

The 'no phone' rule is posted clearly, rather than whine about it in reviews, why not just respect rules?

Very nice bookstore, great selection and good prices compared to most used book stores. Obviously, used books cost more in SE Asian cities, but the prices here are not quite as high as most places in Thailand. And the place has a nice remainder bin with Dick Francis and a few other old favorites available for 60B. Well worth checking this place out!

Excellent bookstore. Prices aren't particularly cheap but they know where everything is and have pretty much everything, which is astonishing.

This bookstore is such a gem! True to its name, On The Road Books is a beat traveler's literature haven. Their selection of new and used paperbacks is wonderfully curated and reasonably priced. They will accept trades for half the resale value.

English language used and new bookstore. Great resource if you forgot to stock up on travel fiction. Mysteries galore; classics, biographies, sci-fi.
