Téry cottage

One of the most spectacular cottages in the High Tatras. If you only have time for one or two, choose this. It is a challenging hike (6 hours from Hrebienok both ways, 800 meters of elevation gain - or more if you do not rely on the funicular and hike up from Smokovec). It's located over 2.000 meters above sea level, so it is the highest cottage that you can access even in the winter (just take snowshoes, the last kilometers will be difficult without them until April/May). It also has a solid kitchen year round - no cards, cash only.

If there was 10 stars it would be still not enough - lovely atmosphere- warm food- warm welcome- loved it!

Very nice view, but you need go by walk to reach this cottage. I had tea and soup which was much more better than in any restaurant in city
Very kind people and really nice service (you need to think there is no road for cars to this cottage so there are some limitations) but for me I always enjoyed stay on this cottage (I also stay for might and it was fun)

So lucky and grateful to have stayed at Téryho Chalet unexpectedly. The crew gave me emergency accommodation on the chalet's night off when I was absolutely exhausted and starving and fed me so well with the best garlic soup and goulash I've had in my life, which were washed down later by three different Slovak shots and a few good Czech beers before we danced the night off. wait to be back again for the beautiful scenery and the beautiful people there

Great mountain chalet in a dream landscape at 2,015 m altitude; young and professional staff, unforgettable atmosphere, cool people, very good and plentiful food (garlic soup and goulash must be tried), great drinks (Radegast beer, traditional herbal liqueur Becherovka or Horec).
In a word: an unforgettable experience that I highly recommend!

Very lovely location and a great place to eat at after the climb. Prices are good, if you consider that everything is brought up by mountain carriers, and it's even cheaper than Zámkovského chata.

I was on a 10 day camp with the scouts in the area and were told we we're going to make this long walk and sleep in a mountain hut. After the walk, we finally reached the top and it was simply breathtaking. The 2 lakes near the cabin were super clear and the view of the valley behind us was unlike anything we had ever seen before. Inside, it was totally outside of our comfort zone but we still liked it a lot. The vibe we had was very calm and cosy. Luckily we were a big group so we fitted perfectly in 2 big rooms. The food was also completely different. It had way more garlic than we're used to but honestly, it was delicious. You should certainly go here for the experience and the good food!

Really great garlic soup, overall nice place in a lovely location. Many tourists around, but for a good reason and there is enough space outside, so it's no issue. Great spot on nice path. Definitely recommended to pay a visit.

Téryho chalet was built by the Hungarian Carpathian union thanks to Edmund Téry (1856 - 1917) a doctor from Banská Štiavnica and a mountain pioneer, who played a very important role in developing tourism in the High Tatras. Till 1933 it was the highest situated chalet .

Till 1928 the chalet belonged to Carpathenverain, later on to the Czechoslovak tourist club and today it belongs to a firm Slovenské Karpaty Ltd. In 1983-84 the chalet was reconstructed, however it still keeps its former typical look designed by Majunke from the beginning of the century.

Hard walk, my opinion 7/10, it is suitable to take walk and make stop for few minutes at Zamkovskeho chalet and then just continue to Tery's cottage. We made it in less then 5 hours but with more stops because of collecting stamps and drinking coffee and radlers at Bilikova chalet and Reiner chalet 💪🏻

Nice authentic place in High Tatra Mountains, with lots of hikers, climbers sleeping overnight. 5 stars for the ambience.
Decent draft beer (4 stars), given the kegs are brought up by the local Sherpas on their backs. Food average. Very tasty tea. Overall good service, interesting crew running the cottage (5 stars)

The traditional mountain cottage is a great place to rest and eat a hot soup as well as to stay a night and play board games and chat with fellow hikers. If you make it here you'll appreciate the service which is awesome, given the fact that you are in the mountains and everything is brought here by local porters.

Loved it. The food is not perfect, breakfast is below mediocre, but the goulash was very good. What counts most is the atmosphere and approach - i slept on the ground and woke up like reincarnated, full of energy.

Amazing place in the mountains with breathtaking view. Accessible for kids too who are willing to walk for 4hours up.

Situated at the top of Mala Studena Dolina, Teryho Chata is a good resting place for the hike from below or before the climb to the pass. We didn't stay here for a night, but we know they do offer a dorm bed for 20€ per night. However we can recommend the beer and sandwich which are of good quality and give you just the energy you need before continue hiking.

Best view

The best High Tatra cabin. Really nice food and staff. The only thing missing is a shower for everyone. Love it anyway.
