Sledding was fun, although we could go only so slow. The snow was meltimg and the 2.5km slope was bumpy. You can get a 2 or 4 hour pass for the train that can carry the sled too. You rent the sled on top of the hill and can drop off at the bottom. In hindsight we could save the train ticket, it's a 40 minute walk from top to bottom. Not much longer the other way either.

Lovely place with beautiful views, there is a tram/train that gets you to the Hrenienok and it runs every 30 minutes up until 19:00. From there there are a lot of lovely mountain trails, including yo the waterfalls - can definitely recommend 👌

It's a cult place, you have to come up. The air is clean, the views are spectacular. Accessible on foot and by lanovka. Tip for buying tickets: it's recommended to buy a return ticket (13 EUR) because it's much cheaper than a one-way ticket.

The air here is crystal clear and there are many hiking trails. All around us are mountains, waterfalls, beautiful places. Worth very many more trips

Here is a toddler friendly suggestion for a nice tour: From the top funicular station at Hrebienok you can take the red trail toward Chata Rainerova.
The first part of the walk, is an easy walk and is mostly accessible to strollers, and should take about 20- 30 minutes on the red route until you get to the first bridge over the stream.
The second part of the walk is a bit more challenging up the path to the second bridge over the large and impressive waterfall. This part will take you another 20 minutes uphill and is not suitable for strollers. The waterfall definitely worth the walk!
When you reach the waterfalls, turn around and take the similar way back
Back to Hrebienok you can have a ice cream or a beer to chill.

Don’t use the toilets at the restaurant which will charge you 0.5 euros pp, just walk one minute down to the funicular station for free of charge restrooms.

An increase in Funicolor less than 5 minutes. Cost through Go Pass 11 euros for an adult and 9 euros for a teenager (without Go Pass another 2 euros per ticket).
You can also go up on foot in about 45 minutes.
Parking in the whole area 10 euros for the whole day.
We did a green and blue walking route.
Amazing views walking along the waterfalls and the stream
Of course we tasted the onion soup in question (it was nice, not what they make of it)

Beautiful Slovakian nature. I wish the information boards would offer also English translation. We parked the car down ,the gentlemen in high vis jacket was kind and navigated us. The good organisation , the pram took us up and down, but if you prefer, you can walk. I bet would be lovely on summer time

What an amazing spot on the mountains. The ice display was such a surprise and impressive to see. I'd advise riding the funicular up and renting a sled to go down the hill on. Such fun!

Mountains that you have to see to believe. There is a tram up to Hrebienok for ease and then many wonderful hiking trails to explore from there. We ventured up to a lovely viewing area and came down to view the waterfalls. In early/mid April there was still lots of snow on the upper peaks and some passes through the High Tatras were closed. Some people Backcountry skiing. You can find decent routes through the park but come prepared with crampons.

Very pretty place where you can see Tatra mountains very well, if it's a good day. A lot of hiking trails start here too.

If you like walking then this is a must visit ! You can either walk up from the town or use the funicular railway and spend the day walking all over the Tatras.
There are sign posts for all the walks and the time needed for them. There is plenty to see, including mountain huts where one even has a tame-ish fox. Water falls, and let's not forget the views that are outstanding!
There is plenty of parking in the town which costs around 10 euro for the day the funicular railway costs 13 euro up and back but you can walk it if you prefer.

This is one of the attractions of High Tatras that you should not miss. It’s good for families with small kids, hikers as a first step to go higher to mountains or people who just want to use some attraction and enjoy the view. It’s 13€ return for adult, it goes every 30 mins. or more often from 8:30 to 16:30 and trip takes 5 minutes.

After or before hiking it's always good choice to drink a delicious draft local non alcoholic drink, it's kofola of course in Slovakia.
The restaurant contains a small store, were you can buy drinks or foods. You can drink a good coffee or use the toilet, what is near the entrance.

Not my first time hiking in this area
Beautiful is an understatement
The area is well maintained and it shows. Lot of hikers visit this area and it's quiet popular
The area offers a few peaks to choose from if you're planning to conquer peaks
Love it and will go back to this area whenever I can
