Koliba Kamzík Starý Smokovec

A great place to try out some of the local and regional food. Our dishes came in nicely plated, fresh and tasty. The staff was nice and despite some language limitations were very helpful and positive. They have a terrace with quite a few seats, but inside they also have a huge and nicely decorated hall. The prices are a little on the upper side, but it is worth it.

Note: no pets allowed, which is a shame.

Came here a few months ago and have been meaning to do a review since! They had creamy garlic soup which was so tasty and so were all the meat dishes. A really nice restaurant to visit especially if you are a tourist! When I come back to Slovakia I would want to come here again.

What a fun and delicious dinner! Good value for money and we found the service prompt and friendly. The live music was a great addition to the atmosphere. We had spent the previous week in Spain and were honestly just so happy to have some good hearty food that left us feeling full!!

Nice restaurant with local food and music in the heart of Stary Smokovec. Waiters are polite and friendly and they all speak English. When you order it is good to bare in mind that the portions are huge especially if you would like to try their tasteful deserts :)

Very authentic restaurant with Slovakian cuisine and amazing views on Tatry Mountains. They have lots of big rooms and many tables, so you can easily find place for you even without reservation in advance. Menu includes variety of local food and drinks, I recommend to try Slovakian pierogi and homemade dessert which is very delicious!
The only one disadvantage is that they don't have breakfast options, but working hours start from the early morning, so you can order any food for breakfast. The interior is very atmospheric with wood and decorations inside and outside, so this place suits for different occasions. Highly recommend to visit it while you're in Stary Smokovec!

I'm a halusky fanatic and this place makes the best! Other dishes were totally amazing too (pierogi with duck and red cabbage, stuffed chicken breast, etc.), I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this place, the chefs are exceptional!

Lovely place with mouth watering tastes. There was a gipsy band playing live session. The waiter guy was kind, attentive and spoke good English. We would definitely come back.

Great restaurant in Stary Smokovec. If you like traditional Slovak dishes like Bryndzové halušky or Brydzové pirohy there are few variations of them to chose from (e.g. pan-fried pirohy with mushrooms or sweet red cabbage). Food is fantastic, staff is really friendly and traditional decorations in the restaurant enhances the overall atmosphere and your overall experience - parking available for customers directly in front of the restaurant.

Very beautiful and nice restaurant with great Slovak food. Staffs were very friendly and helpful on explaining the dishes. It is a must restaurant when you are in High Tatras.
Please do try their desert as well.

Ate here twice for lunch. Absolutely gorgeous place. Traditional Slovakian food. Great friendly service. Located next to the Grand Hotel. Very busy and popular with locals. Would 100% recommend.

Very nice place with many choices for typical foods such as pierogi, gnocchis also vegetarian and children’s options but all still quite typical too the region. The atmosphere is also very traditional and they sometimes have live music for dinner past 5pm. There is usually not too much queue around 12-13 however past those hours the queue is quite important and reservations cannot be made unless you are staying at the hotel. On top of this but this might be a regional thing, there are many Hungarians and they are not the nicest.

What a great place for traditional Slovak dishes. Excellent service, delicious food. Very good bryndza cheese. Garlic souo with bryndza was really interesting. They also make their own bread. Comfy outdoor seating with lots of pillows and fresh flowers, also suitable for larger groups I think. They have a great menu, would definitely come back to try some more dishes. Just please change the logo, it’s quite off-putting.

The food is amazing, really the best Slovakian dishes I ever had. The atmosphere of the place is very traditional. Service is good, pricing is very reasonable.

Delicious garlic soup. Soup with cabbage and sausages is very sour, but it's a traditional Slovak cuisine. Big potato pancake with meat and cheese is good. You can come here with a dog. Recommend

Very good authentic Slovak warm and cuzzy restaurant, really good service. We waited 5 min for the food.

Very hospitable house with friendly staff throughout. Good food (both the breakfast buffet and the in-house restaurant) at acceptable prices. We had to struggle a bit with the comfort of the mattresses - but presumably everyone feels differently. The room (small studio) was ideal for two of us and comfortably furnished. For guests from abroad, the wide range of TV channels should be mentioned!
The house is the ideal starting point for hikes in the High Tatras National Park.

The most delicious food in this area. All dishes were excellent! The only one downside is that it is quite crowded so we had to wait for 15 minutes to be seated.

Delicious food with a large and interesting choice. Everyone will find something for himself. The size of the portions and their quality go hand in hand with the price. Waiters very friendly and quick service. Go there!
