Zamkovskeho chalet

We spent there one night with my friends in the twelve beds room. I would say it was a good experience. The staff are very kind and helpful, the food is perfect. You can choose a half board for your stay.
They are under renovation so it can be noise a bit. They will finish the renovation until next year and it will be very beautiful. We saw some picture about the plans.

Myself and a friend had a wonderful stay here during our hike of the High Tatras! Staff were all incredible helpful, accommodating and friendly, the food was amazing and everything was so comfortable and spotlessly clean! Thank you all so much 🤗

It is just a life saver place for the begginer tourist after a long hike in the high tatras. They have quite wide range of food and drink in the middle of the mountain. They even have ice cold draft beer. It is usually crowded but I think it is understandable as not so many Restaurant can be found nearby 🙂.

This is the perfect little mountain cottage to visit. The vibe is great! Full of hikers enjoying local food (about 10-12 euro per meal but decent portions) and beers. The service is lovely (bonus points with me as they spoke English). The place is super child friendly. I was there for lunch and they offered me a room to feed and change my baby. From what I could see, this room was very clean and comfortable. There is a playground also. To get here, the terrain is a little rocky, but perfect for a beginner hiker, and it is in a good spot for a break for those going onto the longer hikes from here.

Cozy atmosphere, very tasty food and friendly staff. A bless after winter hike to the mountain. Also has nice t-shirts with nice pictures of Zamkovskeho chalet. Coming back here every time when visiting tatry.

Sweet dumplings! Must try! Very tasty. Friendly staff, cozy place. Location is beautiful. Beer is from local store, but they have beer too! Hopefully will visit this hata again!

Kind staff, clean rooms, you can take a shower as well. The food is delicious. The tap water is from the river, so in wintertime more potable, than is summertime, is it suggest to bring a water cleaner. The meals are around 10-12 euro, the bier is 3-5 eur.
The way to the house led in safe path, without reaching any avalanche terrain, so you can visit any time.

Cozy atmosphere in the mountains, tasty beer and reasonable prices. What more to wish for after a hike?

A well fitted cottage for a night sleep at the park. The rooms are for four people, two floor beds with blankets and sheets. There is dinner and breakfast for additional price, but it is possible to cook outside for yourself and bring it in. The staff is very helpful and English speaking. A night at the Chata cost 20€.

The Zamkovského Chalet (1475 m above the sea) is a very nice chalet situated in the lower part of the Malá Studená dolina (the Small Cold Valley).
The chalet was built in 1943 by Štefan Zamkovský (1908 - 1961), a famous mountain-guide and a climber. It soon became very popular among the hikers and climbers, who started to call the hut after its builder.
After it was nationalised by communistic state authorities, Štefan Zamkovský had to leave the High Tatras.
In 1992 the chalet was returned to the ownership of the successors of Štefan Zamkovský.

The hut is located in the woods, and do not be surprised if you are greeted by a well-grown bear at the door – carved from wood. The electric fence around the hut is not without a cause, though, as there were instances when a sandwich left on the terrace at night ended up as real bear supper. The area around the Zamkovszky Hut offers various hiking possibilities; there are a couple of marked trails that can be combined in a number of ways.

Great place to walk to. Fantastic choice of great freshly made, very tasty local food. Ideal for carnivores and vegetarians. Good friendly service. Can't wait to visit again.

Easy to reach from Hrebionok (less then an hour walk with a beauriful panorama and a photo model fox :-)). Good food (cabbage soup is the best!) and friendly staff. As there is not road for cars to the top, they bring the ingredients by feet (local sherpa).

Really nice people working here and I admire their effort. It is a very nice place to take rest after climbing the rocks of the route to Teryho chata. I love their bryndzove halusky. Exactly as they should be. This place is popular among hikers and it is normal to wait 15-20min in a queue for a food.
There is a playground for children outside.

They were very kind and gave to my son a little diploma (like a postcard), because he reached the chata. They were collect the garbage around the tables, it was very exemplary. (but of course I would be happier if people didn't throw it away)

This mountain cottage has special place in my heart. Have been there many times. People working there are friendly, always ready to help, or give an advice, if you do not know where you want to go. Food was perfect every time I ate there.My favority bryndzove pirohy is must to try.
Have a beer as well and full Slovakian lunch is all yours. Zamkovskeho chata is a starting poin5 for walk to Mala studena dolina, there is amother mountain cottage up in the end of the valley -Teryho chata. The refreshment is waiting for you there as well. It is nice, but a bit hard walk, so keep in mind your ability, and do not risk.
Cant wait I am will be back there. Go!

It's a very cozy place, good food and fresh beer. Great location for trekking, skitour, alpine climbing.crowded, book in advance!

Not very busy in September, delicious food, incredible views!
