Chata pod Rysmi

One of the most beautiful places in Slovakia. Cottage on the border between Slovakia and Poland.🇸🇰🇵🇱 On weekends and when the weather is nice, there are a lot of people. I recommend going early in the morning. Of course, the cottage is closed in winter.

With its impressive altitude of 2250m it is the highest among Slovakia mountain huts. Dramatic location between Tatran peaks makes legendary "Pod Rysmi" tempting challenge for any hiker. And also refreshing reward.. taking into account quite tought path ending with non-compromise rocky wall with ferratas. Most of hikers stop here before heading up to Rysy.. highest Tatran free accessibble peak. Enjoy your well-deserved tapped beer, good cabbage soup with pepper sausage, buy yourself "sherpas edition" can and perhaps... take a rest in the highest toilet outhouse you have ever seen :-) But at any rate, soak up some magical atmosphere of this extraordinary place!

We were just day visitors. Great service, but most important that you can have amazing food and cold beer at 2350m.
Everything is carried by people (Sherpa style).
A must to visit if you climb Rysy.

Knowing that all the goods you consume here are carried on foot, the back of a 'carrier', then the beer drinked here is the most delicious one, sipped with gratitude.

Life saving place for tourist to climb up to Rysy. Tasty foods, kind and fast service, my ever better Kofola :) Prices are fair, you understand if you climbed up.

Maximum respect for the efforts they make to keep this cottage up in the skys on 2250m high. Literally everything is transferred up the house on foot by sherpas and volunteers. The dormitorium is comfortable and clean, the food is good, but do not expect too much more.

There is no running water nor a bathroom, you must buy bottled water in the buffet to drink or wash your teeth.
The toilet is 50m walk from the house, and you have a gorgeous panorama from the seat.
Also, there is no dustbin in the house, you must take all your garbage with you the the vallaey. No one else will take it for you, and it is absolutely correct.
The guys are not really kind, but I think it has a reason. They look like tough mountain folks, no harm, no charm, they just do their jobs and they require you to follow the rules. Absolutely acceptable.

It was hard to believe that you can find a place with warm food and drinks so high in the mountains. Perfect place for a break. I recommend a good dessert at this altitude in this place :)

Excellent place to have a rest before or after hiking Rysy. Very good menu and not overpriced too. The tea is amazing. The best I ever drunk. You'll get it free if you carry 5-10kg bag to the Chata pod Rysami. Just make sure your back is solid and legs strong enough

You cant miss this cotage if you are going to Rysy (highest peak of poland) and one of the nicest hike in Slovak Tatras. We spend a night here and i have to say that cotage is super clean, staff is friendly and food is delicious. Prices are very reasonable i would say cheap considering altitude. There is no shower ofc and toilet is bit further from cotage but the view from the toilet is unforgetable. Oh and make a reservation up front if you want to spend a night, we decided to go for sun rise at 4:00 in the morning and it was breathtaking even tho that we didnt have much of luck with weather.

Nice and good. Friendly staff. Be aware there are two dorm room available only But perfect place for overnight hiking experience. Booking a few months in advance highly recommend 👍😎 enjoy the mountains 🙋🏼‍♂

Awesome place. A cabin under rysy mountain (slovak side). Offers bed (shared bedroom ~20 beds, sheets/towels are extra fee), food and drinks (not very expensive, considering the location.. but they charge for everything, hot water, mineral water etc.). NO ELECTRICITY, no phone service. They dont accept credit card because there is no connection there. Accept zloti and euro. Strict hours : food served till 19:30. Drinks till 22:00. Breakfast till 7:30. Toilet outside ~50 meters walk . No shower. comunicate for reservation only by sms.

A friendly place up there, one of the main attractions on the hiking route from Popradske pleso to Rysy. Enjoy your drinks and vrcholovy pudding, find a place to sleep to wake up to the best views around.

Great adventure to reach this place! I strongly recommend to anybody who would like to experience a little bit of mountain climbing on chains. The views are gorgeous, the house is great!

Great place to rest and recharge your batteries before / after reaching Rysy. Gotta admit, that must be truly challenging to keep this refuge functioning properly on such height (2200+ metres) :)

The highest mountain cotage in the Vysoké Tatry! If you go to Rysy, stop for a drink and a meal and support sherpas :-)

Great refuge in the mountains on your way to Rysy summit. Can be crowdy... affordable drinks if you take into account these need to be carried up from Strbske Pleso... usually volunteer students.

We stopped only for soup, beer and tea. All was very tasty. Service was fast with friendly staff. What more one needs on a big hike :)

Very atmospheric place! Where else you can spend the night, drink beer and eat at an altitude 2200 meters)) Staff makes huge job to keep this place so great!)
