The Interior it’s very cozy and the food is delicious ! I had one of the best octopus that of my life with a very special sauce and the waiters treats you very well ..it’s a family business.
And please don’t be foolish by the exterior when you pass by because is just in front of the road and the exterior doesn’t show how amazing this place is!
I love it and super recommend!

Stumbled across this place because of its reviews and were unsure whether it'd be actually good.
You know how there's a saying that pictures of the food in menus is usually a red flag?

Well, this place is the exception. Great food to the point we went there again the next night.

Keep in mind that some of the dishes need to be preordered 6 hours in advance - I highly recommend the octopus.

Amazing authentic Portuguese food. Service was incredible. Get the calamari. It's the best in the world... And I've eaten a LOT of calamari.

Update: the deserts are amazing. My wife and I got "small" portions of 3 deserts... The pictures speak for themselves.

This place is just our favourite. Every single time we come to Portugal we visit. The service is great and staff is very welcoming. The atmosphere is quiet with a little background noise and suits a lot of occasions.

The food quality is simply great and that alongside of service and atmosphere makes it a unique experience for your mind, soul, heart and the tummy of course.

If you want some great local food made from best ingredients, don't wait, book a table.

First visit and will definitely be back. Food, service and value was excellent. Roast lamb for 2, vegetables, bottle of wine, 2 desserts and a coffee €53.50 plus tip

If I could give Marigil 10 stars, I would. The leg of lamb and the roasted rabbit were spectacular. Staff is very attentive.

Great homy place with delicious food and lovely owner, felt very welcome witch our little son who got a fish with vegetables (first time he ate everything in the restaurant).

Slow cooked food ordered in advance is just magnificent. We had the lamb which was full of flavour and falling apart with properly cooked vegetables. The wine was not overly priced but local and popular labels.

Friendly welcome, superb oven baked octopus, splendid oven cooked lamb, delicious home made molotov and creme caramel. Family run, long established. Absolutely excellent.

Great authentic Portuguese food in a simple but comfortable restaurant with friendly stuff! You cannot leave this place without having tried the octopus from the oven if you like seafood :) portions are big as well!

An absolute must while you're around Lagos! A very cozy restaurant with the most lovely staff and the absolute best roast lamb platter you will ever taste!

Definitely a little surprise in the Vila do Bispo area. Great food, nice and friendly staff.

Great Portuguese cuisine, a little bit rough in the ambience with excellent flavours tht you don't taste in all the other restaurants. It really executes the attribute "home cooking" and takes you to a culinary experience you must take if you are in the area. The service is excellent.

Godly octopus in an unassuming but extremely cozy place. Worth a detour. Every town should have a place like this. Do call 6 hours in advance to order one of their home specials, it's worth the effort

Wow! Very tasty food in lovely surroundings. For the first time we went we had no reservation and were treated with octopus, and pork. For the second time we pre-ordered roasted rabbit and it was tender and super delicious. The service is very friendly and English-speaking. Be sure to leave some space for the home-made sweets!

Absolutely must go and have the polvo. Don’t forget to call one day in advance to make a reservation and put in your order. So good I went there twice during my one week stay. Got the cataplana the second time and that was also fantastic. Service was also wonderful the two women running the place were very sweet and welcoming.

The lamb platter is amazing!
Best to book ahead as they slow cook for 6hrs so if you just drop in on the off chance a limited menu will be available.
Lovely charming family run place ..we will be back whenever we are over that way :)
