Castelejo Beach

Fantastic sandy beach. Wild ocean, waves in full force, tide over two meters high, few people, cold crystal clear water, cooling wind, salty air. And almost every beach on the west coast is like that.

Epic, beautiful sandy beach. Good for surfing, hiking and sunbathing. About a 40min walk from the restaurant to the small caves at the furthest end. An afternoon well spent! 😊 🏖 ☀🌊

Perfect beach for a walk!

The spot has 2 parkings.
First one on the top, but you have to go to the beach 2km by foot

Second one near the beach, but for the brave person. Narrow asphalt road with cliffs on one side. For me it was dangerous, but there was lot of cars.

Really pretty beach. Surfers everywhere and tons of parking place. No surf rentals in off season. Nice for a walk in the beach and to enjoy the sunset ✨

Great wild beach, no people. The best is in the morning or in the evening.

It was empty, windy and cold. The kids loved it, the adults walked around with sweatshirts. Great photo opportunities, lots of surfers. There is a cafe/restaurant right by the beach, where you can retreat and warm up. when approaching the beach you will see a parking lot of. The right, I recommend you park unless it's earlier, otherwise you'll be backing up to it.

Forget about beaches in town, this is real beach. Simply fantastic! Beautiful walk, you can also walk to the next beach Praia da Cordoama. Good bar/ restaurant. Easily accessible, big parking place though beach is not overcrowded. Cool waves for little bit action people.

One of the best looking beaches ever! The atmosphere is always great with loads of surfers and due to being hard to get is never busy! Definitely try and go for a sunset you won't forget it!

Prettiest and best beach we went to during our stay in the Algarve. Had to drive a sketchy road to get there but totally worth it.

I pitched a tent for a night, no one bothered me, until 8 in the morning there was no one in the area.. Wild camping is illegal but worked out fine there.. the beach itself is very beautiful

In Western Portugal, a beach cannot be rated any less than a 4.7 to be worthwhile. This is definitely a 5 beach. It’s beautiful and wide and wild and has amazing cliffs and is what a natural beach should be like.

Take a walk and enjoy

Before the road was tarmac’d this place was really difficult to get to. The access road was narrow and dangerous so few people went. You would never see more than 30-40 people and more that half were naked. It was a wonderful unspoilt place with no windsurfing or concessions it was just very natural. I wouldn’t even say that those who were naked were naturists, they were just holiday makers who took their clothes off and it was completely mixed. The last time I visited the road had been made up and even people were arriving in coaches. By most standards the beach is not busy but it is not the same.
