GoodFeeling - Hostel & Guesthouse

If you are looking for a quiet place in a small town this is a very nice place. There are two restaurants in town and a small grocery store. The bus stop is nearby. The main noise in the morning is chickens and dogs. The highway can be a little busy during the day.

A wonderful place to stay!
We had troubles with our holiday trip and almost by accident found this place.
This hostel has a wonderful friendly atmosphere and a lot of good international people.
Everything is tidy, the stuff is very helpful and friendly, amazing kitchen for people to cook meals and get together. They also provide dinners for everybody for a small price and there is a great chef if you want to have a breakfast of a small snack during the day.
If you want to get surfing lessons, the surfing school is just nearby. They have amazing teachers who can help you with your first steps!
The cat Jesus was chilling with us during all stay and we had a wonderful time here. I would recommend to stay here and enjoy great people and the place!

I had a great experience at Good Feeling Hostel! The facilities are very modern and clean, making for a comfortable stay. But what really stood out to me was the staff, especially Carlos. He was an amazing host, going above and beyond to ensure that guests had a great time.

10/10 hostel, all staff and owner are super kind, good vibes and great location to switch around surf spots. Wifi works great for working remote and for those without a car, there is a free shuttle everyday ~11a.m-5p.m ish to the beach.

There aren’t enough stars for me to give to this hostel and the people that work in it. Everything was perfect. The vibe, the amenities, the people, everything. Really. I think I knew it as soon as I got there, you know? That I had found exactly what I was looking for. These guys understood everything one needs to take into consideration when setting up a hostel for travelers! Not only the outside is a beautiful white house full of colorful flowers, but the inside is so cozy you feel like home. Books and magazines for you to read in the living room that also has three sofas and two large tables for you to sit down and work or eat. A swimming pool outside!!!!! With a huge deck for you to chill and sunbathe and read a book because it is so peaceful that nobody disturbs you. There is a small area to practice yoga if you want to. Otherwise you can do it in a small terrace they have there. You can rent a board with a Spanish girl that is SO NICE and SO FRIENDLY I just wanna be friends with her. Stefano is the surf teacher and he is a super nice Italian guy that helps you with literally anything you need. Lena is also a volunteer there and she takes you to the beach everyday at 11. Carlos is the owner and is always around making jokes. Claudia the receptionist is super super nice as well!!! Very helpful. And Alice, the Brazilian girl that makes breakfast and attends the bar, is always smiling and trying to help. Adorable! And finally Sandro, the Swiss volunteer that worked there for a month or so.. We became friends so I’m being a bit impartial here but I adored that sweet guy. Helpful and friendly and so so so funny.
Back to the place itself: they bathrooms do smell pretty often, I can’t lie, not everything can be that perfect. But the dorms are! Perfect, I mean. Wooden beds with nice mattresses for you to sleep like a baby. Huge lockers for you to put your stuff (my whole carry-on bag fits there and leaves plenty of room for other bags and clothes to put in the hangers as well). Really amazing dorms.
The kitchen has not one, not two, not three but FOUR SINKS. (Or were there five?) They also have FOUR burners (plus the one for the staff) and three ovens. So you don’t have to line up with a bunch of strangers just to wash your dishes, there is plenty of room for everyone. I loved it. Also they have small fridges, one per dorm, and I can’t even describe how helpful that is. If you travel a lot you know what I’m talking about.
Well located! Like a block and a half away from the only store in Raposeira (super nice lady works there), the surf shop, the restaurant and the cafe. The distance to the beach is the only thing I had a bit of trouble with because you HAVE to go by car. It’s a 10 minute ride and if you hitchhike you always get picked up, but it you need to go with your surfboard everyday.. You won’t be happy about it. Just rent or buy a car if you want to be entirely happy. The rest will be taken care of by this amazing surf hostel :)

Amazing hostel and super nice staff! It was clean, beautiful and had everything you need. There’s even a smoothie/coffee shack (Algarvegan) on site with the kindest man working there!! Definitely recommend :)

Great and super friendly staff that helps you any time and takes care for the Good Feeling. This Hostel & Guesthouse is the perfect place for you, if you are looking for company, as well as quiet.
The surf school is attached and easy to organise lessons or board rentals. The kitchen is fully equipped - we also enjoyed the really nice home cooked dinners, that they offer every evening (in case you do not want to cook).
We planned to stay one week and ended up staying nearly three. The location is perfect, if you want to enjoy the beautiful beaches, that are only 15-30 min away. I will come back for sure, enjoying the people, the atmosphere, the hammocks, the bar and the Good Feeling company. Thanks so much Carlos, Alvaro and the rest of the team for a wonderful stay with you.

Carlos and his team welcomed us very friendly eventhou we arrived very late. This place makes you feel like home immediately. The dorm rooms offer enough space for privacy and the people (guests and volunteers) were super nice and always offered a hand were needed. We also liked the food for dinner and the vino coming with it :) would definitely recommend this place to everyone!

I loved this hostel! I haven't stayed at too many, but this is the type of experience people are hoping for. To start, the accommodations are great; bunk bed is comfortable, includes linens & towel, and has a generous locker in the dorm room. The shared facilities, from the showers to the kitchen, are all clean and well equipped. Even luxuries, like the volleyball court and pool, are well maintained.

It goes beyond the building though. Staff is friendly and provide a hub for interesting activities. Surf school, yoga, massage, tattooing; everything that will make your stay very memorable. On my only night there I took advantage of the evening meal, which was both delicious and a great way to meet other guests. I definitely could have spent much longer here!

Fantastic excursion! We went with our two kids (8 and 10) and they both loved it. The guide, Marco, was great! If you stay for a few days in Sagres I
highly recommend it.

that's a good place to stay. staff is friendly and helpul. It's cleaned everyday.
good location, you can drive to east, south and west coasts in less than 10 min to find the best surf conditions. I definitly recommand this accomodation and i will be back for sure

Truly an incredible experience. From the reception to the instruction during the ride, an excellent job. It is worth going back one and more times. Pedro, the instructor was very professional and funny so we all really enjoyed it.

By far the best hostel Ive been to, I would completly recommend it.

It's very well located, you have a lidl at around 2-3min in car, and ton of beautiful beach for surf or swimming in the area ( most of them under 15min driving ).

The staff is super nice and people staying there were all nice, there is a very good vibe.
The name "Good feeling" fit very well.

I would recommend staying in the studio if you are a couple ou family, it's in a more quiet spot and the private bathroom is an added comfort.

You won't regret your stay
We were suppose to stay 2 days and ended up staying a week

We stayed one week in a studio room (private room+bath) in April. Our room (not all are the same) was quite spacious and simply furnished. Room and bath was clean. They do not clean automatically everyday, but you can ask at the front desk in the morning and they will clean in the afternoon without extra charge. Breakfast comes at 4 Euro and Dinner(vine included, veggy optional) at 8 Euro p.P. Carlos, the chef, makes fantastic dinners. Every day is different (in one week) and usually traditional Portuguese cuisine. The hostel has a new, big and well equipped kitchen, so you can cook yourself (It is hard though, because Carlos meals are so delicious.. you can't withstand :D). Atmosphere at the dinner is great. Many people come together, eat well, drink well and talk a lot. Afterwards playing cards or singing to some guitar songs. You can get to know a lot of people. Many are from Germany. Of course there are many surfers, but also many others travelers, many young people, but also of different age, solo travelers, couples... I took a 5 day surf course. Classes were small (3-7 people) and 1-2 instructors (according to the size of the group. Though usually they say it is 1 instructor for 8 people.. don't know why we got more). Felix(German) and Paula(Spanish) are really nice guys and always willing to help you to improve your surfing. They have a hands on style, do not lose much time and push you in the water.. maybe the best way to get on the board (worked out for me at least ;) Surfing time varies every day according to the tide (earliest was 8:30 am, latest 3:30 pm), also the beaches differ according to the wind conditions. Board and wet suit were clean and in a good condition. They have a lot different boards for every level. They also have a Beach transfer for the ones not taking classes. It is more flexible and transfers everyone who wants to any beach and picks up everyone together any time (the groups needs to arange a time then).

I think most of the charme of this hostel comes from staff. We got to know many of them (since we stayed 1 week, and they usually change every 3 days) and they are all very friendly, always have an open ear for you and try to help you with anything you need. We felt very welcome!

The hostel is located in a small village near the main road to Sagres, so you will always hear some cars during daytime. Also there were only few racks and no cupboard in our room, which makes it hard to put your stuff/clothes somewhere. Hopefully they will improve it soon.

So all in all, good facilities, great staff, fun activities, very good prices. Hope to go back soon :D

* Helps to have a car, there is quite a stretch to the beach, buses are irregular, and only 1 pizza place within walking distance and that's it:)

Our bicycles broke down in the middle of nowhere and this hostel was the only nearby open place. The very friendly and helpful staff helped us to find a taxi and let us use their facilities while we waited for our transport. Seemed like a lovely bunch of people and a lovely place to stay.

Great hostel with a lot of lounge and kitchen space. Location is also great for perfect south or west coast surfing. Owners and staff are really chilled and helpful. This is my 2nd visit and I'm sure I will be back again.

Words can't describe how good it actually is! I spent a whole month at the GoodFeeling and it was just great! The most amazing staff you can imagine, nice house, friendly guests, good vibes, familiar atmosphere, stable WiFi, almost fully equipped kitchen (get a potato peeler!) and loads of beaches with nice waves around... What else could you ask for? They should re-name that place into the BestFeeling! Greetings to the whole crew, I'll be back soon!

From the second I stepped up to the front door and was greeted by Alvaro, I felt welcome in this wonderful hostel. Up there in my top 3 hostels EVER! :) loved the evening meal too :) will visit again!
