We stayed in Alvor in February and this beach was our favorite place for an early morning or sunset walk. Very relaxing atmosphere: there were just a few people around and most of the cafes were closed due to off-season.

Lovely beach. Several concessions along the beach offering clean sunbeds for ten euros. Parking is plentiful and free. A board walk runs the full length of the beach and various bars provide good food and drink.

Being the Atlantic the surf is great and the beach itself is spotlessly clean. Really nice place to be.

Lovely and fairly quiet (we went in July). Lots of beds available. Two beds for €12 which is a great price. There are public toilets in between the restaurants. And lots of drinks and snack options in the restaurants nearby. Easy to get Ubers there and back.

Beautiful sandy beach, especially at sunrise, when I was there it was nice and clean. Stretches far so there is lots of space, it's nice to walk along the shoreline, or along the boardwalk which leads down near a lighthouse and also down to the dock area. Enjoyed walking up the staircase over the left side of the beach, great spot for a photo as the view is good.

Alvor beach is magnificent. It is very deep, especially at low tide and very long too which is great for beach walks on the flat sand. Backed by the board walk the sand is more dune like which then extends out to where the sun beds and umbrellas are positioned that can be rented. Slide down the gentle ridge and you can head for the flat sand and the sea. Certain parts of the beach are more popular than others but as you head further west and almost as you pass the last beach restaurant then it becomes much quieter and more deserted. Worth the walk to the man made breaker which you can then walk along to the small light house.

A good stretch of Oceanic beach to walk on. I believe it's a nature reserve and inland estuary creates perfect conditions for many bird species. I would reccomend. We were there in December, a week before xmas, it was very peaceful, quiet, no crowds and good weather. It only briefly rained for 1 day. If you looking for a quiet place to stay in Algarve, winter is a good time to go, try to stay within walking distance from that beach. It will be worth it.

I spent my days at Praia de Alvor (Alvor Beach) over the past week. It's a beautiful place and the people are really friendly. Just sitting by the water on a day like today is enough to clear your mind of any worries or stress.

My favorite part was being able to be with my partner to see the waves break and hearing that sound they make as they recede back into the ocean.

I hope you visit soon!

We always visit this beach at Alvor, it has every thing free parking quite close to the beach, plenty of eating places, lots if beds with sunshades to hire, lifeguards, a lovely beach, with lovely views and a wonderful sea.

Beautiful sandy beach. Ocean full of energy, sound of crashing waves is amazing. Lots of little local bars nearby and we must all support for a chilled beer and maybe a toasta or coffee.

Beautiful long clean (most of the time!) sandy beach with a lovely rocky cove accessible at low tide!

Beautiful clean beach with a nice restaurant overlooking it. I personally thought the sunbeds were extremely expensive at 25€ for two and an umbrella so I took my towel and roll-up mattress - I'd rather spend that on food & beer! But it's a lovely beach with superb walks along miles of boardwalk around the nature park immediately behind the beach.

Alvor is the most amazing beach I've ever visited, and I've seen hundreds of Portuguese beaches. It's gorgeous. It's clean. Water is clear, perfect for photos, not too crowded. It's a 10, not a 5 star beach.
