The best steak I have ever had. You have to come here. It was dark by the time we arrived but I imagine the view is fantastic. Wine and food are killer. Atmosphere is 5 star. Enjoy!

Staying in Pico we decided to tour around the island. At lunch I decided to find a restaurant with good reviews and great views to surprise my wife. Magma filled all the boxes. The building is perched on top of a cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The interior decor is minimalist yet very tasteful and modern. The service was excellent. We ordered one fish and one steak. The Magma steak was one of the best steaks Au poivres I have ever had. The steak sauce was so good that my wife and I found ourselves dipping the veggies in the peppercorn sauce. The fries were homemade. This restaurant should be nominated for Michelin ratings. The fish was fresh , cooked perfectly and was served with steamed vegetables.

Stayed at the lava homes, had breakfast and dinner here two days in a row. Breakfast was good, but relatively standard. For dinner I had both the Magma steak (with green peppercorn sauce to die for! 🤤) and the Honey sauce steak (with a honey cheese sauce). Both were amazing, but the Honey sauce steak is really special 🤩. The sweetness of the honey and the sharp and (slightly) funky flavour of the cheese complement the filet mignon perfectly! I highly recommend eating here. The quality of the food and service is very high. Best food I have had in the Azores!

This was one of our top two meals on Pico. The restaurant is classy without being fussy. We started with broad bean stew, rich fish soup and creamy vegetable soup. We then split pica pau (steak tips in a mustard sauce with pickles), ginger tuna and puriflor (cauliflower puree with grilled zucchini and mushrooms), plus glasses of Terras do Lava red and Lua Cheia red. For dessert, we had two layered desserts: lime mousse and orange mousse cake. Everything was fabulous and, despite the misty weather, even we had a faint view of São Jorge across the channel, plus we could see the waves crashing against Pico’s shoreline.

We are a group of 7 on holiday. We spent 4 days on Pico.
We all agreed, that Magma was one of the best dinner experience on the island! 👌🥂✌
Excellent food, fast and polite service.
The view from the terrace is amazing at sunset.
There are a lot of space for parking around the building.

Fine dining on Pico!

One of the best restaurants we have been to. The service was outstanding, the location beautiful. If we would not have been here in winter and the weather wouldn’t be so nasty we would stayed for ages and snacked us through the complete Menu. 5/5 if on pico visit this place have a good wine and a nice steak and a relaxed evening

What I liked
> Amazing view
> Lovely interior
> Friendly staff
> Nice music
> Quality of food: butter was super creamy; Thuna was on time

What I did not like

It was a great experience. I would love to have more veggies included. The Thuna dish had only potatoes added.

My girlfriend and I just had the best restaurant experience on the Azores so far! I had the Magma Steak (Tenderloin) and my gf had the fish of the day (Parrot) grilled. We both had veggies on the side. The steak was one of the best I have ever had - it was cooked perfectly medium (see pictures) and the wine sauce was delicious. My gf also was very happy with the fish which I also tried and I totally agree - it was excellent! We had the magma cake as a dessert and that also was great! Service was superb (our waiter was very funny), sunset over the sea, short wait times and a really great atmosphere made it to one of the best dinners during our travel!

The most beautiful dinner view in all Pico, nothing compares. Tasty Azores tipical food, prepared with love. Good presentation. Friendly staff. We try the Magma steak for main course, and Lapas and Fish soup for appetizers. Order a Frei Gigant white wine bottle and be happy 😊 Don't forget to book in advance. It worth every penny.

Wonderful.
Last year I was unable to get a reservation but this year I passed by and was lucky to have room for lunch.
The place has a rustic chic feel, beautiful view and very nice servers.
Food wise we had the Magma beef with pepper sauce (delicious) and squid in tomato stew (to die for). Desert was the lime mouse and orange mouse (light and decadent).
A must. Got reservations for dinner in a couple of days :)

Stopped in for lunch & had the squid Pico style with rice. Amazing food and even better views!

Great prices & probably the best place we’ve eaten on pico island.

Best restaurant in Azores. We have had dinner here about four times and it was faultless each time. Amazing view, beautiful decor, delicious food and very fair prices. Especially recommend the favas, fish soup, osso bucco, tuna stew and Magma cake. Cocktails were also great. Just a fantastic experience.

Very good and not too pricey food. The service - in contrast to a few other feedbacks here- was excellent and I would strongly recommend booking a table in advance as the place is rather small and nearly always booked out. But it’s definitely beautiful and you can - if weather allows- enjoy a beautiful sunset from high inside the mountain

This was by far the best restaurant that we ate at during our entire vacation. The food was just perfect, the view with the sunset more than stunning and the staff super kind. The entire atmosphere is super welcoming. You should definitely reserve in advance though!

This place has it all:
- Lovely food (the fish soup and bean stew starters and the steak mains were excellent)
- The friendliest staff where every interaction comes with a warm smile
- A fantastic sea view, that was magnificent even on a rainy, stormy day.
Make sure you book ahead!

Calm place with a beautiful view over the São Jorge canal and nice food. I would recommend the Magma Steak if you're into meat and also the mandatory regional fresh cheese with pepper.
