Pico Island

Stunning countryside, really beautiful island. You can literally feel the power of the earth and the sea. Perfect vibe region and nice place to hike.

Very laid back. Love the wine tasting rooms. In July and August, there are festivals almost every day. Breat taking sunsets.

Nature at it's best! Came here during winter but we were blessed with good weather! too bad we couldn't see Pico Volcano but we manage to experience Nature like what we've always wanted. Very natural landscape. Hopefully it will stay this way for years to come.

Paradise on earth!

I myself have not visited the Peak or the Pic as my grandfather and uncles even a person I just happened to start talking to at the Doctors office once ,he asked me if I was Portuguese I told him my grandfather had been born on the Azores and left for the United States when he was kind of young I believe and this person who I had never seen before said the Peak huh I said yes how did you know he said something like he could just see it I that I look like someone that came from there I was amazed but anyway I have always wanted to go there and where my Dad's family was from England and Ireland but the Pico island would be first

Incredible experience, this small yet mighty island is a hidden Portuguese treasure. Pico mountain is only a small part, whale watching/museum, swimming, terrific scenery, people, roads, lava tubes (Gruta das Torres) exploration, hotel options, real estate deals, the food is incredible, fresh ingredients from the vine, protected Unesco wine region and Wine museum, will visit again and again. I personally recommend visiting Lajes, Sao Roque and Madalena in that order. Take the boat to Faial or vice versa and you won't regret it. Make your reservations early, this has become a top tourist destination in the Acores/Azores.

Enchanted magical place

Beautiful place, has lots of greenery, and has lots of hiking trailings throughout the island. The people are very friendly.

Every few years i visit to visit family. The food is delicious, the ocean and views are breathe taken. People r friendly but for those that were born there and go visit, they can b a bit overwhelming. It has new business around , site viewing, climb the mountain with a guide, whale watching, at time u can see the dolphins while u visit the island across Faial.)Place is laid back and don't expect to have everything that ur used to ur country. Little by little they are having burguer King and some other business, but the business hours aren't all night. The same goes for coffee shops (café) which they also serve alcohol and at times food.

Pico is one of the most beautiful places on earth. From almost every point of the island you can see the mountain, you can climb it if you're interested (I don't agree with having to pay to climb it), you have some nice lagoons, the road that crosses the island is beautiful, the view to São Jorge and to Faial islands is superb, outstanding. I worked here for some time and never got tired of the incredible views, no matter where you look there is always beauty! People are very friendly. You can also go on a tour to see whales and dolphins. You won't get bored there, that's for sure. Be aware that the island has more tourism than it can support so it's plan your trip ahead, book a car, a room or you can have a not very pleasant surprise.

Great for wine tasting and walking in wineries, climbing mount Pico and in general for solo travellers

Completely volcanic rock island. Stunning. Beautiful. Excellent for hiking. Friendly people.

Very beautiful island with a lot of trees 🌲 and wildlife. It also has a humongously large mountain 🗻 which is very beautiful too.

A downside is that one can't always see the mountain due to the clouds which come from very moist air which block the vision to the mountain.

All in all pico is a very epic island
