It has become a postcard photo cliché but that's not this place's fault. It is charming and unique, little white houses hanging from the cliff with a natural pool beaten by the waves at their feet.

Picture perfect but honestly even on a sunny day Sintra is cold. Hence we've stayed a little longer, we were able to witness the waves refilling the natural pond. A must visit if you are in Portugal.

This is a gorgeous beach to visit if you are in the area. It has a natural swimming pool that is filled by the tide and waves. Very cool!
Being on the western coast, the wind is a little stronger here and the waves a bit bigger compared to the beaches in the south of Portugal, so it may be a little more challenging for swimming. Still, it's a great place to enjoy the sun and the ocean.

If you're around, don't miss the opportunity to visit this amazing place! Beautiful sunset! Natural swimming pool! Restaurant! Beach! You can use the pool without paying. If I go back to Lisbon, this will be a guaranteed stop again.

What a great place to enjoy the sun and the sea!
Beware that the beach may not be open. Last time I was there there was no sand for people to lay down a towel, it was full of rocks. Make if you want to enjoy the beach make sure you go during the beach season. Otherwise, if you just want to enjoy the view, it's 100% worth it. What a great view!

I have been here on summer and didn'teave with a great impression, lot's of people and an overpriced coffe place outside. On winter however it's great, calm beautiful and relaxing.

One of the most beautiful places that I got to experience on my trip to Portugal.

Went there a couple of times with my girlfriend. It's a lovely spot to take your date to, fairly close to sintra, yet not very well known by everyone one. The beach itself is quite small and during the day mostly empty due to the currents. Next to the beach, you will find a natural salt water pool, which is lovely if you have small kids or are not quite comfortable in the cold and rough Atlantic waters. The spot is perfect to watch the sunset, being that in the water or above it. Unfortunately, there is a typical networking, hipster vibe at the beach side bar, nothing to crazy but don't br shocked if you see people wearing high heels just to take a good pic for the insta.
All in all a lovely place to go (optimally you have your own car) after you spent the day in sintra or just if you want to go somewhere a bit more relaxed and "not well known" while still being fairly close to lisbon. Avoid going on cloudy days because it will not be the same.

This beach is gorgeous! Fun place to go with a group of friends as the natural pool is not as cold as the ocean water, perfect to stay in and enjoy the gorgeous ocean view.

Beautiful place to be and see those amazing views. We went twice since we stay in the Sintra area and was worthy.

Amazing place!
One of the best ocean view in Sintra.
A natural stone pool with a sandy bottom, with warm (relatively) water.
Cozy bar near the beach with live music.

Absolutely breathtaking and spectacular views. This should definitely figure on your bucket list. We did not have time to linger and the weather was iffy unfortunately. Be careful if using a supplied GPS, ours tried to guide us up a mountain goat trail while visiting the fishing port below! Stick to the main roads, use Google maps, and a paper map is quite a useful supplement as well.

This place is just amazing!
The restaurant was under renovation, but the bar at the natural pool was open!
We enjoyed a nice drink with an amazing view.

Arriving in this place is always so cheerful this small village perched on the rock, remember Greece very much, the beaches are beautiful but be careful to go swim only when the sea is calm because it could be a bit dangerous

The beauty of the beach was powerful enough to mesmerize me.
