Excellent park, well maintained and laid out. Lots of tree ferns along the moss-covered paths. Everything is very atmospheric and secluded in November, without a huge crowd of tourists.

Fantastic place less than an hour with a train from Lisbon. It is a must visit but at the Sam time a huge touristic trap. From the moment you get out of the train, the offers for tours and rides come your way.

The area around the castles is walkable and you don’t need to get on the bus. Go to the Historic centre and from there you can easily walk up through the beautiful park- forest til Moures castle and from there to Peña Castle.

Make sure you bring lunch and water with you as the prices are double than in Lisbon and the options in the small kiosks around the area are limited plus also quite crowded.

For all the nature lovers, this is a must visit place.

We only managed to visit Pena Palace with a small portion of the park. It is definitely worth the time, but I would suggest at least one full day.

This site was breathtaking. All the architecture, history, gardens, monuments were fabulous. I always say, read up on it before you go, or certainly after. Gives you that unique perspective on the history. My favorite was visiting the High Cross. Nice leisurely stroll (long but worth it) and the path is wide and paved. Stops along the way include the queen's table and the soldier monument. The nature is so beautiful and we weren't even there during full bloom. The castle itself is worth the money. Lines seem long but they have a great system in place. No worries, you'll get in when your time comes! The views are amazing from the castle and High Cross. Soak it all up. Plan to spend some time here.

Me and my wife love this place. They have sometimes family events going on, but we just love that there are plenty of options for a walk, bike ride(they have rental), horse ride or a donkey experience.
Walks can be a bit too exposed to the sun and you might need plenty of sun cream in the summer, but we love the views of mountains and fields in Sintra. Such an iconic place!

Spring is the most beautiful time to visit that place!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the National Palace of Sintra, and I was thoroughly impressed. The gardens were meticulously kept and full of lush greenery, providing an idyllic setting for a relaxing stroll. The palace itself is a stunning piece of history, with its beautiful tilework, elegant architecture and unique towers. Inside, you can explore the ornate rooms and marvel at the fascinating artifacts that tell tales from centuries past. The guided tour offers an informative look into the history of the palace and its occupants, adding an extra layer to your experience. It's easy to see why this marvelous palace has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site - it's one of Europe's most impressive palaces! And while there’s so much more to explore than can be seen in a single visit, it’s worth every moment spent here. Whether you're exploring on your own or taking part in one of the many guided tours, you won't forget your time here in a hurry - it truly is something special. Highly recommended!

I believe Praia da Ursa is part of the park. It's among the most beautiful I have ever seen. But, to get to the beach itself, you have to hike down a steep track.

Incredible landscape and park!!! Felt like a mystical, magical space. Almost the highlight of visiting Lisbon. You could spend an entire day here. I think visiting in the fall, elevated the experience.

Wonderful national park with ancient castles as well. The view on the forest with the ocean at 5he back was dreamy! I fell in love with this place. In the summer period the vivid green is bright and the light sweetly filters through the trees.

The park is wonderful, with rare plants and trees. You need to climb the hill to get to the palace, but I saw a person in a wheelchair who was helped by a friend to go round the garden.
I was really impressed!

What an amazing place! The Portuguese royal family used it as a summer retreat, to get away from the heat.
They created a place that you would think has been built as a modern theme park, but it is all original and has some of the most astonishing decorations you'll see anywhere and the views are fantastic.
You'll need a full day, or two, to really explore this place.

An experience not to be missed. You will be having dreams about this place for months, once you have seen it. An array of green colours, mixed in the most extraordinary fashions with fogs and raindrops in any season. You will be enthralled by the smells of eucalyptus all around you and the fantastic views. A must visit.

Beautiful must visit, bring a jacket its very windy and cold even in august. Stunning views for free. Awesome spot for sunset watching. Can spend the whole day walking the trails, there is a camping spot as well. Bring shoes with grip for the trails are rocky, and sandy.

Where nature, mysticism and history blend in a beautiful magical place. Medieval castles, dense european forest, either with rain or sun, visiting this place connects you with our planet, our culture, us humans. Lose yourself in these hills and mountains and coast, find the secrets of a living place that never ceases to amaze even the locals. Where the land ends, and the ocean starts.

#sintra national park is 0henomnal consists of many beautiful villages. Lush forests and golden beaches. It's really easy to get around and spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing what to do. Great place for active holiday makers. Weather is pretty wet in April and it gets nippy in the evening. Bring a jacket. We done so much walking easily covered 80 km over 4 days. Fantastic

We actually went to "Quinta do pisão" which was great. We spent about 4 hours and had our lunch over there. Cleanliness, fantastic views and organic garden where you can buy few organic products are among the Highlights of this place. There few animals (donkeys, horses, goats, sheeps, and some poultry ) which was attractive for minor children. We enjoyed visiting this place and we highly recommend for everyone specifically families with children.

The days I spent here are my favorite from my euro trip so far! The place is beautiful and Portuguese people are really nice! If you like nature and are going to Lisbon I would totally recommend a visit to Sintra! And not just as a day trip! I stayed four nights and wished I would've stayed longer.. there are plenty of things to do!
