Casa da Ribeira

Easy to book, easy to communicate with the hosts Mario & Palmira via Booking messages, and such a warm welcome, like coming home from a long journey! So lively and warm actually that it might throw an introvert like myself out of their comfort zone for a second, but soon I felt right at home. The room was large, bright and spotlessly clean, the same with the bathroom. Every detail had our comfort in mind; plenty of clean towels of various sizes, 2 perfect cushions of different firmness (and the towels and the bedding got changed during the week), anti-slip mat in the bathtub, a table with chairs and sunbed chairs, as well as a drying rack on the balcony. So well thought out! Note that there are only two rooms at this accommodation, so it is very calm and private, but the balcony is shared between both rooms. The hosts really put their effort and their hearts into making their home their guests' home and actually introduced us to the other guests, which we might not do so easily and quickly ourselves. We spent a lovely evening chatting with the others on the balcony and still had plenty of privacy and alone time. The hosts also share their own modernly equipped kitchen with the guests, so we could fix ourselves coffee or tee anytime, store something in the fridge and use the cutlery and crockery etc. And the breakfasts! Absolutely our best breakfast in Azores (we are on our second island now). Mario offered us an amazing selection of local cheeses and Palmira accommodated our dietary preferences (keto) by preparing delicious eggs every morning, although we were breaking her heart by not trying her lovely smelling fresh bread. They also advised us on our daily trips, and helped us make a dinner reservation the first night when we were still newbies, not knowing that in Azores at dinner time, no booking mostly means - no foodsies:) This was a lovely, cosy, heart-warming experience that made us fall in love with the Pico island even further and we would love to reutrn to Casa da Ribeira!

Ein wunderschöner Ort mit wunderschönen Menschen. Mario und Palmira nehmen einen von Sekunde 1 in ihre Familie auf. Wir haben das gemeinsame Frühstück mit den ganzen vielen Geschichten und Tipps jeden Tag genossen. Das Haus ist sehr schön, die Zimmer sehr gemütlich. Es gibt eine tolle Terrasse mit Meerblick und dem unvergleichlichen Sound der Cagarros. Man vermisst diesen Ort und Mario und Palmira sofort nach der Abreise. Von uns 5 Sterne, weil nur 5 Sterne geht. Herzliche Grüße Ihr Lieben!!!!!!

Casa da Ribeira ist keine Unterkunft, sondern ein zweites Zuhause! Palmira und Mario sind aufmerksame Gastgeber und öffnen ihr Haus und Herz für ihre Gäste! Schöne, geräumige Zimmer, großes Bad (alles immer top sauber), toller Balkon mit Blick aufs Meer, Pico war von unserem Zimmerfenster aus zu sehen, Frühstück mit allem, was das Herz begehrt...
Der Balkon ist zwar mit den weiteren Gästen des Hauses zu teilen, für uns war es aber die Gelegenheit, sehr angenehme Menschen kennenzulernen und gute Gespräche bei einem guten Gläschen zu führen.
Vielen Dank an Palmira und Mario für den schönen Aufenthalt und die wunderbaren Frühstücksgespräche!

Wir wurden herzlichst von beiden empfangen und wie Familie behandelt.
Die Unterkunft ist unglaublich schön und hat einen wahnsinnigen Ausblick aufs Meer. Die Zimmer groß und sehr gemütlich und sehr ordentlich.
Das Frühstück wurde je nach Wunsch vorbereitet und sämtliche Wünsche wurden erfüllt.

Para momentos simples e tranquilos, o Pico serve na perfeição. Com gentes simples e simpática vamos saboreando histórias de palavras de boca cheia. No concelho das Lages, berço de baleiros que há muito trocaram a faina do mar pelos afazeres da terra, encontramos no lugar da Silveira a "Casa da Ribeira". Aqui, o que necessita para uns dias tranquilos é disponibilizado. Cama confortável numa suite de dimensões médias, liberta na varanda uma vista de 180' para um mar sem fim a sul, Vila da Lages a leste e a montanha a oeste. Com um serviço de pequeno almoço farto e variado na companhia dos anfitriões, deixa saciado e motivado para a descoberta da ilha montanha qualquer varaneante.
