Mawic Restaurant

This is a top 5* restauramt experience. The chef who is also the owner of the restaurant takes his culinary experience to a level you don’t expect! He also comes and checks how was the food. We have visited Mawic two nights in a row when in Ollantaytambo. The service is brilliant and all the waiters kind with a smile on face. Prices really good - they also offer a cocktail upon arrival! Highly recommended!

Willy is an amazing host. This is such a great place to eat. The food is fantastic and his family run business is the best we have come across in Peru so far. Authentic Peruvian food to the highest standard I would thoroughly recommend!

Absolutely love this place as a welcome to the town and a memorable meal. The people who took care of us were excellent and attentive. This is where my husband decided to try cuy and we were able to get a half portion for a reasonable price, especially since the quality was beyond excellent. Perfectly crispy skin and moist inside. The chef clearly takes pride in his work, and we agree that he’s the best

Best Peruvian/Nikkei restaurant in Cusco! Amazing!!! we had the Ceviche de Trucha 10/10 , Rocoto relleno emponchando with tempura batter WOW, lomo saltado delicious, trucha with garlic confit, sacred valley salad with grilled mango and avocado and the best one El confit de Tira (asado de tira) . Don’t forget to order a chicha morada to drink!

Nice place, good ambiance. I think they work with a few tour groups so you might find large groups dining which can slow service. Food was great and well prepared!

The Best food I have had in Perú. The food was amazing. The Chef, who has been to school to become a Chef, came to check on us and we found out that he is really passionate about his craft, which he has been developing for the past 18 years. He only cooks with the freshest ingredients available locally and he loves to create different dishes through fusion. And Ruth makes perfect Pisco Sours, which is hard to come by. Absolutely recommended!!

Nice location next to the river. We had the delicious and hearty Chupin de Quinoa soup. Very delicious, great value, healthy... The picture was taken after I cut up the poached egg that came on top, so it was more beautiful when served!

The service is excellent, the food is beautifully presented and delicious. We absolutely loved eating here before taking the train to Aguas Calientes to visit Machu Picchu.

We had one hour before departure of our Inca rail into Machu Picchu and were looking for place to have lunch. We got lucky and first restaurant we went to was closed, so we went down the street and found this special place. Staff is friendly and speaking English and food was incredibly amazing. Restaurant is clean and nice decorated, definitely worth to visit. Price is moderate, compared to the quality of service is cheap.

Friendly staff and fast service. Definitely try the duck dish, it's fantastic. Also the Beef short rib with homemade pesto pasta tasted wonderful. All in all: Creative dishes that are perfectly executed. The cook deserves a prize 🏆

Beautiful restaurant in Ollantaytambo—accommodating and warm with delicious blends and tastes, especially if you don’t eat meat dishes. Great space for large groups too.

Wow! Delicious food and super tasty drinks. Also the most lovely staff in the world. Highly recommend and a must if you are visiting Peru and want to try the authentic food.

Excellent food and presentation. I had the oven-rooasted guinea pig, and my husband had the alpaca loin. We both tried each others' dishes to sample the local cuisine. I'd never had guinea pig before but they made it delicious - if it had one tiny flaw it would be that I maybe expected it to be crispier (they advertise it as "very crunchy" - but I couldn't fault the taste of the pig and the really nice sides that came with it. One of the servers gave us a free shot of matacuy at the end - thanks!

No stay to Ollantayambo is complete without visiting both the Inka site and Mawic restaurant.

Amazing flavor, seriously. We had osso buco and it's 10/10. They are full bar for pisco sour, chicano, maracuya sour, etc.
A little wait for food, but well worth it!

Great food and great drinks. We just asked our hotel where’s a good restaurant in Ollantaytambo and they pointed us here. The menu really surprised me with great selections. Flavor is top notch. We got two entrees and four drinks because it was so good! You can tell the chef here is really creative with a great taste.

Found this nice little place by the flowing water upon arriving in Ollantaytambo. Food was excellent, the presentation was very beautiful! Met the chef and he was kind enough to share his process behind the amazing leche de tigre for the trout ceviche. I'm coming back whilst im in Ollantaytambo!

Coca pisco is a must!!! It’s really super good! Duck was also top❤ aje de gallo is interesting.
Price are a bit higher but place with a view!
