Ollantaytambo explorer

My friends and I were staying in Ollantaytambo and wanted a tour operator that was closer to us and at a more affordable price. I am so glad that we went with Ollantaytambo explorer. Initially, we were a little bit skeptical since I had only contacted Ronnie through WhatsApp, but that was easily dispelled once we met Ronnie. Ronnie was one of the best guides I’ve had in a while and he explained the history of the sacred valley and how it’s evolved over time very well. This was one of the highlights of our trip and would recommend anyone visiting Ollantaytambo to use Ronnie’s services.

Glad I found this tour agency! Ron is great. We had limited days and times and really wanted to do the Sacred Valley tour. Ron arranged pickup at the airport upon arrival to Cusco and took us on the sacred valley tour where we explored Chinchero, Moray, Maras salt mine, and Ollantaytambo. We even got a demonstration of how alpaca wool is worked and how to tell the difference between 100% alpaca and other materials. It took a whole day and we were exhausted since we were also getting acclimated but it was worth it—and Ron was very flexible.

Ronny was such a gift for us. Unfortunately, we had only a short time in Ollantaytambo (a few hours). We were scrambling to figure out how we could explore some of the many, many sights and educational aspects of the valley. Ronny saw us trying to decide whether we had time to get extra cash for tickets, which ticket to buy, and what to try and see with our limited time. At first he only offered to help explain the options and give suggestions on what may be best with our limited time. After we decided against the astronomical sight because of time constraints, he offered to provide a shortened tour at a reasonable rate and still provide as much education on the many aspects of Incan society and pre-incan history. We were able to hike the grainery sights to the northeast of town. He made sure we were on time to get back to our hotel, collect our bags, and board the train. Ronny himself is also just a joyous and well-grounded person that was a treat to get to know. We are only disappointed in ourselves for not having more time to explore with Ronny in this magnificent historical place. Next time!

Ma femme, mes 3 filles et moi avons passé un excellent moment en compagnie de Ron, deux journées en fait. La première a été une balade grandiose à cheval en direction du site archéologique Puma Marka. La deuxième, nous avons visité le site archéologique d'Ollantaytambo, puis Moray, le village de Maras, les Salinas de Maras, Urubamba et enfin Chinchero. Ron est ponctuel et professionnel. Il est très sympathique, enthousiaste, passionné et parfois très drôle. Les filles l'ont beaucoup aimé. De plus, les prix qui l'offre défient toutes concurrences notamment la balade à cheval. En fait, Ron offre un prix réel qu' un local pourrait avoir, non des prix gonflés pour touristes. Comment cela est possible? car Ron a vécu presque toute sa vie à Ollantaytambo. Il a évidemment des contacts et connaît très bien sa région. Il n'y a pas ou peu d'intermédiaires. C'est lui qui fait tout. Pour vous balader, il fait appel au même chauffeur et à une entreprise pour le cheval. Mais, il est toujours présent avec nous pour nous guider et s'assurer que tout se passe bien. Nous avons fait de longues recherches et contacter de nombreuses agences notamment à Cusco pour visiter la vallée sacrée sans se ruiner et à un rythme qui nous permet de vivre le moment et non à la chaîne en mode accéléré et impersonnel. Seul Rony est en mesure d'offrir les deux! Ce périple de 2 jours a clôturé en beauté 7 mois de voyage en famille autour du monde! Merci Rony et bonne continuation!
