Lomada Lodge Ollantaytambo

I had an incredible experience at Lomada Lodge. I stayed in a pyramid that turned out to be an unforgettable adventure I’ll cherish for years.

Checking in at 4pm was ideal during this season. An earlier arrival is possible, but the afternoons can be quite warm—perfect for leaving your luggage and taking a stroll into town.

My host, Renee, was a delight, offering guidance in Spanish to a hidden walkway just beyond the train tracks. His directions were spot-on, and I was pleased to find that I understood him quite well since my Spanish is a bit rusty.

The walkway cut through a beautiful, green farming area and led me straight to the Ollantaytambo Archaeological Park. The walk, taking about 15 to 20 minutes, was a picturesque journey through cornfields and the countryside.

After exploring the park I returned to the lodge and enjoyed a hot shower. The shared facility was clean and perfect for my first glamping experience.

The pyramid’s glass walls presented a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains by day and the twinkling stars at night, striking the perfect balance between the thrill of adventure and the comforts of home.

Renee was an excellent host, preparing a sumptuous dinner that was a feast for the senses and even showing me and my new friends how to craft the perfect Mojito.

The next morning, he served a simple yet delectable breakfast that fueled me for the day. I spent the rest of my time there lounging, enjoying the quiet and the stunning scenery.

if you’re on your way to Machu Picchu, and you have time to spend a day or evening in Ollantaytambo I highly recommend this experience.

My stay at Lomada Lodge in Ollantaytambo was absolutely fantastic! Nicanor, the host, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction throughout our stay. Despite our late arrival, he graciously arranged accommodation for us and even prepared a delicious dinner past 10:30 PM.

The lodge itself is a serene oasis amidst nature, offering a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. We had the unique experience of staying in both the treehouse and the glass pyramid accommodation, each providing a different and unforgettable perspective of our surroundings.

While the accommodations were clean, comfortable and cozy, it's important to note that Lomada Lodge is primarily an outdoor lodge. This means there's no electricity inside the respective lodgings, but charging facilities are available in the main dining hall.

Additionally, it's helpful to have a basic understanding of Spanish since the staff primarily speak Spanish and may not be fluent in English. However, this did not hinder my experience at all, as the staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly.

Overall, our stay at Lomada Lodge was the perfect way to decompress and relax after our exhilarating trek to Machu Picchu. I would highly recommend this enchanting retreat to anyone seeking a unique and rejuvenating experience in Ollantaytambo. Thank you for the unforgettable memories!

I can’t say enough good things about the experience we had at Lomada Lodge. Rene was an amazing host. He spoke no English but we made it work. Our room and bathrooms were super clean. I highly recommend staying here as it was a once in a lifetime experience.

Una maravilla de sitio, las instalaciones están muy bien cuidadas y limpias. Las duchas tienes agua caliente y la cena incluida muy buena. El encargado que nos atendió a nosotras (Rene) era encantador y muy atento. 100% recomendable.

Excelente lugar para desconectarse de la ciudad, una vista impresionante de los paisajes, tiene diferentes alternativas de hospedaje: pirámide, casa en el árbol o bungalows, con respecto a la atención, Rene, el encargado, es un maravilloso anfitrión.
