Khumbu Lodge

We Stayed at Kumbu Lodge for a total of 16 nights. And Pemba and the Team hospitality was amazing. We were made to feel like family and cannot recommend this place enough, you got to check out the coffee shop downtown stairs as well .

A very good hotel with good amenities and service. Had good stay while going to and returning from EBC trek. It was nice to know good history about dignitaries who have stayed there before as well. Btw i liked the book collection at the restaurant too :-)

This Lodge/Tea house stood out from most others for their comfortable rooms, hot showers, friendly staff and great food quality. The heated beds were a welcome benefit🙂 the manager is a star and a gentleman

This is my favorite hostel/hotel I have ever stayed at. Couldn't be more central, rooms comfortable, food delicious, staff cares to no end, everything's clean. Free outlet in the cheap room, hot hot showers. Exhausted when I arrived, and felt like a million bucks when I left. Then same when I returned on the way down. Made many new friends and was difficult to leave but ofc eventually time to move on up or down. They helped me take a helicopter back to Kathmandu which was epic fun. Photos are from inside my room and the common area, or within a block or two.

25 USD seems like a lot compared to 500 rupee teahouse rooms but being able to stay in a real insulated hotel with an en-suite bathroom & hot shower (!) on my way down from three passes saved my life. This place is a family-run institution and a great, comfortable spot in Namche! (they also have standard teahouse rooms for 500 rupees if that’s what you’re looking for)

Perfectly placed in the center of Namche, and very good service.
Rooms are serviceable and shower are hot (which are mainly what is required at this altitude).
Cleaning of room could be slightly improved compared to what can be find at higher altitude but it is largely fine !

Warm and clean. Some rooms have a stunning view on the mountains. The owner, a couple, is very nice and attentive to details. Food is really good. One of the nicest lodge I stayed during my 3 week long trip.

Great accommodation, food, and service. We stayed here on our way up and down the EBC. The rooms were comfortable (there were even electric blankets, which we need not need). We had a room for our family with an en suite bath with hot showers. The dining room is warm and cozy, with great service and delicious food. Lots of famous people have stayed here and still do. There is a bakery next door as well.

The people are very friendly and kind. We were here in winter season, so there were only 7 people in total. Staff included, haha. But they still got up to heat up the living room. Also very nice that we could charge our phones for nothing. Was really very appreciated!

Very comfortable and warm teahouse. Well located and the owners are really nice people. Wr loved chatting with them in the fire at night❤

Hands down the absolute best. Get Java's big breakfast, and the walnut brownies are actually the greatest brownies I have ever had across the world. DO NOT MISS OUT! Very very polite and friendly staff, great folks.

Hands down this is the best lodge I have come across in Namche! The staff are both friendly and very helpful with accommodating to your needs, the rooms are spacious enough and very comfortable, the beds are soft and the owner Pemba has been so helpful and informative! The cafe underneath hosts some of the best baked goods and sweets with a really relaxed and cost atmosphere. Be sure to come and check it out!! You won't be disappointed

We stay at the khumbu lodge for 2 nights during our trek to Gokyo. The owner and their staff were very helpful and friendly. The services were excellent. We recommend to stay here at this lodge.

Wonderful place, you are met with a joyful and hardworking staff; and they serve the most amazing breakfast. DO NOT MISS OUT ON THE BROWNIES!!!

P.S. I did try out other lodges and I regret my mistake, this is the best one!

Having stayed at Khumbu Lodge for three nights, I feel compelled to comment that the hotel is excellent in every sense of the word. The rooms are clean, as are the restrooms. The food is wonderful (I highly recommend the dal-bhaat option), but perhaps the best part is the amazingly helpful and kind staff, particularly the management, who work there and treat you as if you're family. When we found it difficult to continue along our trek to Everest Base Camp, the staff were quick to sort out the situation and refer us to a guide. When we had questions concerning our flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla, which needed adjustment because the trek turned out to be shorter than expected, we received immediate assistance then as well. For all the unforeseen problems that we encountered, the management were quick and effective in helping us find a solution. To all of the staff there, thank you for making our stay so pleasant.

Excellent stop in Namche. The food is good and the common room was warm. The electric blankets hit the spot.

Stayed here twice. At the start and towards the end of my 3 High Passes and EBC trek. Wonderful hosts. Very good food. Would honestly just stay here for a week next time in country.

The best place and location is best. Warm dining room and food is awesome. They have their own green house for vegetables. Highly recommended. Rooms are clean.

Best place and very hospitable people. Rooms are comfortable. They have standard as well as deluxe rooms. Definitely recommend it. Was there for 2 days heading up to EBC.
