The airport is located at a perfect location in-between the Himalayas. But sadly it is closed for regular flights due to protest by locals. Fee cargo helicopters drop by regularly, that's it. But the place is really beautiful.

This is a highest airport in the world and oldest airport in Everest region .here is the perfect location for landing and takeoff also here will be mostly time better weather then lower place and also very safe for landing And takeoff both.

The airstrip is the closest airstrip to Mount Everest and Everest Base Camp. However, it is not often used by those going to either (or any other place significantly higher than Syangboche's 3780 meter elevation) as this is generally not viewed as consistent with safe, reasonably paced elevation acclimatization. Rather, typical users of this airstrip are tourists who plan on visiting a nearby hotel and going no higher or those who plan only on going to Namche Bazaar.
