What an amazing gem of a place! Im so glad I explored the train station area instead of looking for a place to eat within the airport. This cheese shop / cafe felt quintessentially Dutch. The tuna sandwich was superb and the cheese offerings were really interesting. The only bizarre part of my experience was that after placing my order the workers started working on it and didn’t charge me right at that moment of ordering- so I sat down and they served me my food and coffee. Halfway through, the lady that was in charge told me I need to pay and I immediately got up to pay- she then says no I can pay when Im done. I intended to also buy some cheese and chutneys and wanted to pay for everything together but didn’t mind paying separately to ease this woman’s anxiety.
As soon as I took my last bite the lady once again told me I need to pay.
When I told her I wanted to buy chutneys and cheese, she looked exasperated and so I quickly selected two items, paid and left immediately.
Initially when I entered the shop, it looked like a cheese shop, not a cafe- this same lady approached me as I was browsing and urged me to stay and try their coffee and food (only then did I realize they were a cafe).
So it was strange that she urged me to stay and the minute I actually sat down to eat, I am urged to pay and leave. It was just a strange experience.
Next time I would probably just order to take away to avoid this experience but the food is delicious so I would definitely return for the product but not the service 😂

My parents had a layover in Schipol so we had a quick lunch here. Definitely a bit hidden from everything. We ordered the Old Mokum which has Old Amsterdam Cheese, Raw Beef Sausage and Mustard Dip. We also ordered the Old Melt which has Old Amsterdam Cheese, Spring Onions and Mustard Dip. I really liked the Old Mokum, the flavors of everything mixing was amazing! The mustard dip was nice as well, kinda had the consistency of a Mayo dip, the taste was a good complement. Would get more food here in the future!

old amsterdam is a delicious cheese of amsterdam. and how the real old food or snacks of amsterdam tast. it is delicious to eat there. i think it's at schiphol or neer schiphol. schiphol is the name of the airport.

Quick cheese toastie or grilled cheese sandwich options. They wouldn’t make the one I had opted for which is pictured everywhere in the store. They kept saying they couldn’t make it there because of the bread. I’m not sure why. So what I got was a ham and cheese which normally I wouldn’t eat at all. But it was still very good!
