WHAT A SUPERMARKET! No complaints at all, excellent selection - I love doing a small shop while on holiday to bring home and pretend I’m still abroad. I’ll be eating gingerbread and marzipan for weeks with a tipple of thick Advocaat on the side, BEAUTIFUL.

Most visited supermarkets during my short visit to Amsterdam were Albert H. Nieuwmarkts. Locals and tourists are mostly using this brand. If you want to find something you usually buy in supermarkets than this is place for you!

Recently remodeled to make better use of the place, this location is small but very clean and navigable, and has pretty much everything you might need in terms of groceries. The vegetable selection is a bit limited, but there is a nice vegetable stand on the square usually that will have anything you can't find in ah.

Fullfilled it's function as a supermarket whilst providing no more or less than expected. The bread is commendable, as well as the juice variety.

AH or Albert Heyn is a big supermarket chain. The shops come in all sizes. This one is one of the smaller ones. But it has almost everything. It caters mostly the people of the neighborhood and the tourists who visit the nearby Red Light District. It is cash and dutch cards only.

Nice, small grocer for getting quick groceries. As a tourist, I appreciated that the staff were helpful in explaining Dutch labels and that checkout was super fast. Convenient if you are located nearby.

Very very nice employees there to myself; only can can buy alcohol at anytime even when the selling it's forbidden.

That's a good grossry store in that also have wine, whiskey, beer you can also get there fresh fruit and vegetables but that doesn't accept any other currency only EURO that can accept, and this is just one supermark in that area next to AH have a awesome beer bar in this if you want fresh meat, chicken, fish nothing is better than this......

Nice little supermarket. You get everything you need for your daily life here. Everything is clean. German chocolate here is cheaper than in Germany. Thumb up for this 😄👍🏻

Edit: This review pertains to Nieuwmarkt and not to AH who have somehow managed to assimilate my review. That being said, I do often frequent this AH.

Nieuwmarkt: Here is where I buy fruit when I arrive in Amsterdam, and where I often have breakfast if it is still happens to be before noon when I awake after spending a long night in the taverns and the like in the neighboring absolutely unique red light district.

If you are a tourist looking for someplace to eat, much cheaper to eat here than anywhere else in the area. I recommend the frikandel broodje :)

The most affordable supermarket in Amsterdam. Always shopped there.

Quaint and convenient supermarket in the city center! One of the only ones that was close to where we stayed. It’s very hard to find supermarkets in the center of Amsterdam :/
