Old Amsterdam Cheese Store

We joined the cheese tasting and can 100% recommend it. Tasting the different cheese, learning about the cheese making process and having perfectly matching wines was awesome. Also our guide was so entertaining and made the hour fly by super fast.

What a wonderful experience. The guid was so nice, the way he talked about the cheese made it very interesting. I will never eat cheese the same way again. The wine made it even more fun

Very good and funny instructor told us some history and theory about production of cheese. Then we talked about actual cheese tasting and tried 5 different cheeses and 3 different alcoholic drinks to go with cheeses 🧀
It was more than enough of tasting and the quality of everything was ten out of ten.

On the first floor there is also a cheese shop with good variety of products and nice design.

We did cheese and wine tasting hosted by Ron Peter and it was a fantastic experience. Our host was friendly and made us feel very welcome. The information presented was interesting but not so much information to become boring. And of course the cheese was tasty - and good size portions to really taste each piece.

This is my third time doing a cheese tour with Ron and he is fantastic - the Old Amsterdam Cheese tour let’s tour you sample some fantastic cheeses while also bringing out additional amazing flavors with expertly paired wines/port. Thank you Ron!

Went for the cheese and wine tasting experience on GetYourGuide with my girlfriend. It was absolutely fantastic! Summary of the company at the beginning and an introduction on how the cheese is made and stored. We then started tasting the cheeses, we had 5 different kinds! Paired with both red and white wine. Wrote down things such as taste, flavour, consistency etc and had our certificate signed at the end! We also got a 10% discount in the shop after the experience, which was very useful as we loved the cheese! Thank you for an amazing experience!

Absolutely one of the best “tastings” we’ve ever experienced. After a bit of history about the company and cheese making, Ron took us through 5 distinctively different cheeses, dating each for color, smell, flavor, and consistency. Each was also paired with wine and he gave us other suggestions about food, beer, liquor, and different wines that pair well with each cheese. Perhaps most important of all was the taste of the cheeses! I don’t think I’ll ever be satisfied with American cheese ever again. Don’t be fooled… by any “Dutch” cheese…read the label and if it’s not “Old Amsterdam”, it won’t be as good! Best 60 minutes you can spend in Amsterdam if you like cheese and want to know a little something about the differences and quality taste.

From the US, I was looking for a tasting to try some Dutch cheeses while in Amsterdam. Great experience! Prompt, interesting, and delicious cheese. Paired with wine! Learned a lot. Do this tasting!

I loved that cheese store. Old Amesterdam cheese store is located very close to Dam square , worth a visit . The offer samples to taste from all their cheeses and as well have offers on some items while. Some cheeses are packed with a charcuterie board which makes it great for a gift. Display is very nice and staff are welcoming

Had the cheese and wine tasting for 15 euro per pax. It was mainly cheese tasting, with a glass of wine to choose from. The cheese tasting platter came with some biscuits, grapes, olives, and stroopwafels. As for the cheese, I love all of it but with a special preference for the 2 years aged cheese.

Had an amazing wine and cheese experience with Old Amsterdam! The staff were friendly and personable and made the experience extremely engaging and fun. The cheese and wine were delicious and we walked away with such respect and adoration for the culture and craft of cheese making. Will definitely be back and happy to recommend to anyone!

Our wine and cheese tasting at the Old Amsterdam Cheese Store at the Damrak was the perfect start to my mother's birthday celebration. Ron Pieters, the cheese maestro, made it an absolute delight. Friendly knowledgeable staff and an amazing range of traditional flavoursome cheeses. The store is clean, open and modern in a great location.

I’d highly recommended trying Gouda which the Dutch are famous for. Also, don’t forget to grab a photo with the Dutch clogs outside the store

We went for the cheese tasting and wine pairing experience and couldn't recommend it highly enough. Our host Ron made this experience very enjoyable. The experience was informative and absolutely delicious we even bought our favourite cheeses after.

I would definitely recommend this place, we enjoyed it so much.
