This was more interesting than I thought it would be. In addition to the church you get to see how the Dutch use space in those narrow, tall houses. The view are nice. I paid at the door and there were no crowds. The entrance is easy to miss for English speakers.

The only surviving home-hidden Catholic Church in Amsterdam from the long ago days when Catholics and Jews had to worship in secret. Interesting history and well preserved sacred items. Beware of the lockers. They are a bit confusing and I found mine unlocked when I returned. Fortunately nothing was missing. It attracts the honest type of visitor.
The location is easy to find and not far from the Central Station. It’s just around the corner, or two, from the St. Nicholas Basilica. They offer drinks and snacks. The restrooms are clean. An elevator is available for only PART of the tour. There are lots of stairways. There is no parking available but you can easily walk from the tram stops and Metro station.

OK, this is something really special and unexpected - a former ordinary Amsterdam house turned into a beautiful hidden place of worship. At the entrance you get a free audio device which is easy to use and you walk through the converted interior listening to the history of the city and of this special place. Every room inside tells a story about how people can adapt to just about anything in a time of need, but the main worship hall is just breathtaking. You can literally see the floor which was sawed through to make the upper gallery for worshippers and the beautiful altar in the middle. We were there just after Christmas so the place was decorated and gave such a peaceful vibe. The house is in the Red Light District, so it's a welcome rest stop from the busy streets. Definitely a must see.

I loved my trip to the Ons' Lieve Heer op Solder (Our Lord in the Attic) Museum: a 17th-century house church in a canal house. The Catholic Church was built on the top three floors of the canal house during the 1660s. A “schuilkerk", or "clandestine church” where Catholics and other religious dissenters - unable to worship public - held services. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The audio tour was innovative and provided a wealth of interesting context. The house and church were magical - so surprising and beautiful. This museum - located near the Red Light District - was a highlight of my trip to Amsterdam.

The audioguide significantly enhances the visit, providing fascinating insights and stories. Additionally, the staff were really kind and helpful, contributing to a memorable visit. Definitely a cool idea to add to your itenirary. We were absolutely astound that there was a church built inside a house. Completely hidden from the streets. The engineering of this fascinating.

Beautiful historic church, easy to understand via the audio guides. Great museum experience. As a Christian, I loved visiting a learning about the house churches and the Catholic history in Amsterdam. Brilliant experience, recommended to me by a restaurant manager. Loved this museum.

This is a very interesting museum. It's a house church. Unlike other churches, this Catholic church is hidden inside someone's house. And you will find out why they did this at the museum. It's not a big place, because it's someone's house. But It has everything that a church supposed to have. And people used to conduct mass and services here.

Very interesting place to live the history of the city. Inside the building there is a hidden catholic church, where people used to celebrate the mass during the XVI century-as there was no free of religion.
It is well preserved with original interiors.

Beautiful museum! I’m impressed how much can you learn about history and religion around the same time. The staff is very friendly, specially the girl (from Spain) at the reception. The audio guide is included with the ticket. Highly recommended

A really well presented museum and restoration of a hidden church, which gives a fascinating glimpse into a less tolerant time in the history of the Netherlands. Testament to one man's devotion to his religion converting the upper 3 floors of his home so that others might worship as a congregation . It also bears witness to the futility of a ban on Catholicism, which clearly wasn't enforced as there is no way the scale of construction or the number of worshipers attending mass could have gone unnoticed by the authorities. One of the lesser known gems of Amsterdam and certainly we'll worth a visit.

A real "not so touristy" experience in Amsterdam, which is a rarety. Beautiful museum, gives a goos insight in the Amsterdam of the 17th 18th century and has a treasure inside you would never know from the outside!

Beautiful church full of history in the red light district area. The route covers multiple floors composed by historical, well preserved installations and of course the patio and pulpit. Very useful audio guide included in the ticket. You can also storage your things in a locker while visiting. I highly recommend going during the week and as early as possible, as the rooms are not very spacious and the crowds might interfere in your experience

This was a hidden gem. We found it while looking for things to do before we travelled here. It was one of the most interesting places we went to. After so many museums and so much art work it was great to see something different. The price included a free audio guide and free lockers. The staff were lovely and you learn a lot about Dutch history throughout the tour

Very enjoyable visit. The museum was very easy to navigate, each point of interest is numbered, and the audio guide is very interesting and doesn't feel too exhausting. Definitely a place to visit.
The museum wasn't too busy, which was great to easily enjoy the experience.

Well worth the visit! Some interesting background into the history of Amsterdam, great insight into the setup of the old canal houses and the life within, a secret church in the attic and a bonus, incredibly intricate nativity scene from Naples. What more could you ask for?

A one off place to visit, this is a unique museum. Great audio guide, no rush to get round each part of the museum. Lockers provided free of charge for bags. A visit is really worthwhile and a chance to learn about how religion was being dealt with in the past.

What an amazing experience here! I didn’t expect something so interesting!
To start: I booked the experience a few days before. When we arrived they checked our booking and let us leave our bags in the guardroom (near the toilets). Then the visit began at the souterrain floor, passing through secret rooms, house rooms, until reaching the church on the higher floors. Unexpectedly beautiful! The experience was also completed by the complimentary audioguide. And the workers/ guardians gave also other precious information if you asked. Recommended. This jewel should be more famous.
