While walking towards the square in the city center, we stumbled upon this place and it was such a gem! We’ve been traveling for weeks, from Israel, to France, Belgium, and finally arriving Amsterdam, so we’ve had a lot of food already, but this was by far our favorite. Very cute little spot, quaint, extremely friendly server, and amazing food! We were happy with every dish we got. Highly, highly recommend. If I visit Amsterdam again, I will 100% come back.

Wow just wow. Found this place by accident - we were not disappointed. A must visit. The tomato soup with basil ice cream was a taste sensation. We did the tasting menu which I highly recommend however, the seafood platter also looked amazing. The service was excellent.

We ordered beef tartar with raw egg yolk and local brewed beer. They were all fresh and awesome in such a Brilliant sunny day.
Service is moderate which staff didn’t give us much attention so it took a little while till we caught them.

Recommended by our Airbnb host and we absolutely loved it. Tasty! We tried it on the day we arrived and will be going back again tonight. Every thing is perfect, our number 1 fav dish is the one in the picture, looks simple but full of surprises. Hidden gem!

I dined there last night and loved it. I ordered the catch of the day and the organic Grenache wine, and everything was simple and delicious. The manager was very attentive and pleasant. The decor is unassuming and cozy. I will definitely go back.

Smaller restaurant in the city centre, known for its modern dutch cuisine. We had a friendly and professional service serving us the four course surprise menu. What we had was very delicious regional food and a variety of local beers.

I'd definitely go there again or recommend this for having a great evening.

This is probably the best restaurant I have ever eaten at. The food was out of this world! We had two different dishes and both was amazing, same with the dessert.
The different tastes mixed well, it was a great experience.
This restaurant should have a michelin star.

A newly opened Dutch restaurant with delicious locally sourced food at reasonable prices. The owner's passion for food and drink is clear, and he will happily chat to you about what he is serving, a perfect way to try modern Dutch cuisine in a relaxed setting.

Small restaurant in a relatively new area close to the New Market. I have cycled past many a time without even noticing it. But what a gem. A small menu based on local (organic) produce offering interesting flavour combinations you normally have to pay more for. Sauerkraut soup is not something I would choose but it's definitely worth giving a chance. They serve Menno bread - always a good sign. The mackerel main was very good with potatoes (Opperdoezer Ronde - a protected product name!) that were so delicious we had to ask what they were. There was also an interesting sounding vegetarian option on the menu. The % chocolate in the dessert choice was lower than my addiction would have preferred but the Dame Blanche was delicious. (& enough calories for a week :-)). We had to leave before coffee because the restaurant is obliged to close at 22:00. So book a table for early in the evening (or just order the Dame Blanche :-)) The 3 course "surprise" menu is €30 but you get plenty to eat with 2. They serve a very drinkable Dutch white wine. Staff were very friendly and helpful too. I had a lovely meal and will definitely return.

I grew up in the city center of Amsterdam, and tonight one of my friends invited me to have dinner at this restaurant. Had an amazing night, a variety of amazing Amsterdam brewed beverage’s, and traditional dutch food presented in a fancy yet casual way: a great representation of the dutch culture. Moreover, their ‘bitterballen’(a typical dutch snack) is not overpriced, a rarity for a high end restaurant in the Netherlands! Highly Recommend it if you want to combine a lovely diner night out, with a true Dutch experience!

Wonderful little Restaurant in the heart of Old Amsterdam. If you are looking for a cosy, welcoming and warm atmosphere, you are perfectly right at The De Witte Zwaan. The Food is at its best. Simple and delicious. I had a Catch of the day and the Cook understood his craft very well. The atmosphere nourishes a private setting, where you can have great talks with a close friend. The service is, open, competent and heartwarmingly human. Especially to be served by Roos (pronounced like the flower Rose), was such a delightful and refreshing encounter. One can drop any socially conditioned behavior and be him or her self, because you are met with direkt human-nes. So in the end you are not only nourished by the delicious food, but also by pleasant shared moments. Thank you for that nice evening.

Great food and ambiance! We took the 4 course menu and everything was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by how cheap the drinks are.

Food was superb... modern Dutch, not massive portions, but enough. Very tasty, reasonable prices, friendly service.
