Alan Salon

I went for the first time yesterday and wanted to share how great my experience was. I have been getting keratin treatments for almost ten years now, and many times am disappointed by other hairstylists -- they either fry my hair, or the keratin doesn't stay, and at this point I just accepted that my hair might not look the way I hoped after spending so much money.

I decided to give Alan Salon a try after having subpar experiences with other stylists in Amsterdam and NYC... and wow! I was thoroughly impressed and appreciated how much attention, care, and detail they gave to my hair. I hardly leave reviews but I just had to share why I had a great experience.

First, the cost -- for getting a haircut and keratin treatment for medium-length hair, I have never, ever paid this amount. Normally, I am asked to pay several hundred dollars, and then when I get to the salon, I am pushed to pay more because the stylists says my hair is "longer," even though it's barely past my shoulders. At Alan Salon, it was extremely affordable, and I am already planning my next visit because I can afford to maintain my hair with their prices.

Next, the way I was treated -- in the past, I have had other stylists make fun of my hair, my styling, my greys. I came into Alan Salon with a bad haircut that a friend did, and they didn't even mention it. They just fixed my hair to make it even. They gave me the keratin treatment without commenting on the state of my hair, which was very frizzy and damaged in parts. They didn't push for me to color my hair, which other stylists have done. I have heard my grey hair called ugly so many times before! At Alan Salon, they were extremely respectful to me, the style I wanted, and didn't judge me for how I looked.

Finally, the care and detail they put into my hair, as well as the respect for my time -- I believe Danny was my stylist, and he was so extremely thorough in every aspect of my hair. He made sure every single strand was perfect, and was very gentle on my scalp. Even making sure to not burn my ears with the straightener (like other stylists have done), wiping off every drop of the solution from my head and neck (which others haven't done), and giving me hair so perfect I could leave the salon and go out immediately if I wanted. They also started and finished the appointment right on time -- there's been so many stylists that make me wait before they start, or keep me longer than they said they would. Alan Salon's stylists are complete professionals!!!

For anyone seeking a keratin treatment, I truly suggest you come here. It's been almost 24 hours and my hair still looks perfect. They also don't make you wait 4 days before you can wash your hair (which is soooo annoying!!!). I can already tell this is going to be the best treatment I've ever had and am so excited to see how great my hair is going to turn out. If I could give them 10 stars, I would!!

I have been with Alan salon for more than 10 years and I never been disappointed with his service. I never trusted anyone to cut my hair except him. He is such a professional and very accommodating. Alan and Danny works with their hearts in it. Alan will not be satisfied if his customer is not satisfied. Such friendly and excellent service are the amazing qualities I could never find in different salon. The salon is decorated in modern style that you can be inspired while they will serve u with coffee and tea to keep you entertained while waiting.

Such a good location and easy to make appointments because he will also adjust to your time if necessary.

This is one professional salon. Denny has done Keratin treatments for me for the past 2 years and I always feel special coming here.. They follow all covid restrictions and guidelines and is just such a great salon for all your hair needs… I highly recommend this shop!

Alan gives the best hair cut in town! I am always satisfied with the results. He spends time in cutting hair and pays full attentions to clients’ wishes. He is also really good with coloring. Great service all in all!

I have been going to Alan for more than 5 years & he is the only one that can handle my type of hair. I don’t really have to tell him how to do it, he just knows. I have never been satisfied with any previous hairdressers, they just didn’t know how to deal with my hair and I have been going to the most expensive ones. Alan is reasonably priced & does the best job.

I got hair rebounding n haircut by Danny and its amazing. He knows what he is doing. He perfected my haircut as well as hair rebounding. Will definitely visit them again. The only drawback is they only take cash.

Alan Salon is a kind of elegant/trendy and clean hairdresser salon located near the chinese district from Amsterdam, just 5 minutes walk from the central station. Alan and Danny are two great and friendly hairdressers that truly take the time for your hair. While i was always half satisfied/half disapointed of my hair before in other salons where they just took like 20/25 minutes to cut it.... here Alan is a real perfectionist and spend always close to one hour on my hair just to make sure that it’s perfectly done. While he always listen well to my desires, with his extended experience, Alan is also advising when it’s a bad idea and what could fit better. All by all, my favorite place to be, the past 10 years for my hair and the best address for men and women!! Try it... you should like it !
