Fantastic bar. Loved it

One of the only bars in Amsterdam where you can sit up at the bar and almost immediately start shooting the breeze with the locals. I stayed at this bar for a couple of drinks and some good company. Turns out some of the locals here have great taste in music. Definitely happy to go back to Cage Pleinzicht next time.

Our favorite place for a drink in Amsterdam. Owners and staff are very friendly and engaging as are the locals. Remember you are in the RLD and there is little leeway for nonsense. Many seem to forget.

Smaller Pub but always a great atmosphere! Bartender always has a great attitude and knows the area, happy to help. Good selection of beers on tap, good selection of bottled beers, and liquors. Definitly one of my go to spots when I am in Amsterdam. Remember Heineken is king in Amsterdam.

Usually playing Rock and Roll. A local favorite.

One of the most famous spots in Amsterdam and you know why.... can all the way from New York just to be here! Yep, I just said that. Lol.

Fun bartender, good drinks, didn't try the food. Queued up songs for us to sing. Wicked end of night place.

It was a cloudy Friday evening as I walked into the bar. An old man was gambling away his paycheck on the slot machine as one bartender was cleaning glasses and the other was dragging up crates of soda from the basement. "Can I use the bathroom?", I joked in English. The one cleaning the glasses replied, in the same charming way he always does, with a friendly rejection.

Even so, I sat down at the bar as he gave me the usual. "Wat heeft die dealer hier te zoeken?", he was solemnly asked by the lady sitting next to me, her not realizing that I was, despite my ethnicity, not a drug dealer and that Dutch was, in fact, my native tongue.

And little did she know that, as the night went on, she would become a whole lot more familiar with that very same tongue.

Would recommend, unless you're married. In which case, just don't bring your spouse.

An absolute gem of a bar. A welcoming, cozy bar with an attentive, kind staff. Always my home base for a night out in the area.

We loved this place! Nice selection of drinks and great atmosphere. Both bartenders were great when we went (we went everyday we were there). Customers are also a ton of fun. Can’t wait to come back here when we return

Our absolute favorite bar in Amsterdam. Quick service, great location and our bartender Alex (and his wife, Emy) are THE best! Cafe Pleinzicht will always be a must on our Amsterdam vacations!
