Absolutely loved the place and the food! The staff is very friendly and the dishes were delicious. Would definitely recommend for dinner or just to have drinks at the bar. They have great cocktails as well!!

This was the best choice in Amsterdam!!! The food is incredibly delicious, I took the pasta and it was wonderful! Dessert: ice cream with espresso - no words. the atmosphere was 5+, I appreciated the details: fresh flowers on the tables, candles, the choice of music, the people, the look and clothes of the waiters. Everything was top notch. Thank you for a great evening!

An incredible and in truth unexpected gourmet experience in Amsterdam. Professional friendly service, unusual combination of flavours, original food preparation, which as a result creates a unique and unforgettable impression of the restaurant visit. You don't want to finish the last bite because you don't want it to jump. If you're looking for a synonym for food p**n, a visit to Mata Hari is it.

Mata Hari Bistro and Lounge in Amsterdam is a true find! Despite being super busy, the service remains top-notch. Indoors, it's cozy, and the outdoor canal seating is perfect for cigars and nibbles. 5/5 for the fantastic atmosphere and impeccable service under the bustling vibe!

Beautiful red wine, amazing textures in the main dish (guineafowl) and a delightful atmosphere. Highly recommend for reasonably priced, high quality cuisine in Amsterdam.

Tremendous location right on a canal near the red light district and wonderful service. We had the artichoke and the Spanish meatballs as appetizers, both excellent. For mains we had Lamb and the Spanish stew. The lamb was sadly overcooked but the stew was 10/10 fantastic.

What an amazing place! The food was great, the atmosphere was perfect, and the service was on point.

Even when it was a busy night, we only
waited for 10 mins at the bar while they prepared our table. Then the main course was ready in another 15-20 mins. Definitely recommend!

Suggestion: must try the brownie for dessert. It’s delicious!

What a gem of a place. Great atmosphere like a French bistro upstairs, a little busier downstairs. We booked online on the day.
Staff were so keen for us to enjoy the experience they went out of their way to get a table ready upstairs.
Waiting staff were lovely, knowledgeable helpful and the food was excellent...north sea cod and a guineafowl dishes were sooo good.
We had a little difficulty finding the entrance as the sign on the front is quite low key. A bigger sign perhaps for us older folk. Do not be put off by the locality it really is a special place.

This is a chic-cool restaurant located next to the red light district area. We visited on a rainy cold Friday night in November without a reservation and we’re lucky to get a nice table on the first floor. The staff members were super friendly. The food was also great. We had a seafood platter for two and a croquet plate with six pieces. Also, the wine and beer we had were good.

Overall, this is a place in a great location serving delicious food and drinks. This is one of those places we will definitely come back whenever we are in Amsterdam.

Cozy restaurant in the middle of the Red Light District. The first time we had drinks and starters, and Jazz Life Music.
The second time we had dinner and it was amazing. Additionally we came 2 hours before our reservation to see if we could find some place and they help us to find a table! Super super nice.

On the side of the canal and very prestigious design. Only had few drinks and burrata salad. Atmosphere is good. Hihly Recommended. Booked in for dinner and will share my experience. Thanks

We come here every time we are in Amsterdam. It's a small menu, but the food is very good. It does at the upper end of the Red Light District, so after dinner it's always fun to walk through the area, even though the for traffic has gotten insane.

We had a great experience at Mata Hari! It's in a great location with a fun ambience. Service was amazing and our food was spectacular! I highly recommend if you are looking for something fun and lively with a lounge-y feel to it.

Stopped in after reading good reviews. It was a Monday so not too busy and when I asked if I could eat at the bar they were happy to accommodate. English was spoken very well which made ordering easy. The young bartender was very good and even introduced me to a new rum based cocktail. The food was excellent with good portions. I ordered the fish, which was a tough choice, but glad I did. Service outstanding. Under 50E for a main, two drinks, and a side salad. Highly recommend.

The cocktails were excellent, the decor beautiful. The girls at the bar, super nice and very attentive. I recommend this bar. We are French and we will be back! Barca, Maja, Hannah the best bartender and waiters.

Incredible restaurant based on the edge of the red light district. Interior is truly beautiful, menu is very impressive (vegan options were next level) and cocktails were all unique and exquisite. Staff were fantastic. Could not rate highly enough.

What a good atmosphere! The food is impressive, staff couldn’t be nicer and I love the discobal. The Drag Bingo on Sunday entertains the whole crowd. What an unexpected gem in the heart of Amsterdam. 🤩

We had drinks while waiting before our next stop and had a great visit. We chatted with J our bar tender and she was amazing. Wish we had time for a second visit to try the food.
