Wissenkerke Café & Restaurant

BEST FRIES I have ever had! Very crispy on the outside but super creamy inside. I don’t usually eat fries but I had so much today. Service is ok. Food is very good! Steak should be very good at medium well; out medium is a bit too raw. Bring some fly repellent when you go!

Decided to try this little treasure out while staying at the Mercure Hotel in this building. There is a very nice atmosphere here. Staff were kind and the food had a great taste. I tried the eggplant and it was delicious and a perfect texture. The salad that comes with the dish was a great addition to the main dish. I look forward to a future visit.

We just had dinner here and it was amazing. The Zarzuela seafood stew was one of the best dishes I have ever had. We also ordered the burger and a Caesar salad and they were both great! Good beers on tap and a lot of cool beverage options.

I was staying at the Teleport otel (another story) they recommend watts, but their reviews are not good, so I walked a bit further and came across this gem.
I couldn't see anyone, at first, but then the manager(owner) appeared, I sat outside and ordered a lager. After a couple, it was time to eat, a very filling Ceaser salad, followed by an amazing seafood platter, the Chef's special. Even though there was a large party in, service was excellent, next time I'm cycling round The Netherlands, I'll make sure to pop in.

Quite a hidden gem is what I would call this place. It's super close to Sloterdijk station and yet a very quiet place to have a good meal. I had the melanzane parmigiana which was super tasty and was served with a lot of veggies which I love.
Will definitely go here again and try more dishes on the menu.

I had such a lovely experience, there. I ordered the pasta carbonara, it's definitely one of the best ones I've ever had. The only thing that I would say that they could improve on is that I didn't feel like the pasta was homemade, but of course, that's a stretch, but other than that fantastic. So good, in fact, that if I have time I'm gonna go back.

A local recommended that I visit the Wissenkerke specifically for their burgers and it was certainly worth it. The service was friendly and helpful. There’s a good variety available on the menu but of course the burgers are the BEST! Indoor and outdoor seating are available, with bathrooms on site, also bar with high chairs. Really liked the fact that it’s outside Amsterdam Centraal to just escape the craziness for a few seconds.

Amazing food, great atmosphere and the service is very nice. Definitely coming back!

Great food, environment and service. The portions are quite substantial, even the soup is quite large. State of the art broodjes!

One of the best burgers i ever had. Fries we're homemade.
He missed the starters, but the burger was a good amount of. So in the end it would have been too much.
So its a 5/5 because the waitress was very very nice and the food was so good.

Do yourself a favour and visit Wissenkerke. It is absolutely fabulous and only 10 mins outside of Amsterdam Central. We were staying close by for 5 nights (September 23) and dropped in each evening. The owner Dyck and head staff Frenky and Sami (hope I spelt them correctly), were so friendly and accommodating. Sat at our table and chatted, gave us advice on where to go, what to see. One of the best bars we have ever been to around the world. A real credit to D, F & S...... You must go if visiting Amsterdam or even if you live there. Thanks guys!

Had breakfast here with friends and we all loved it. Food was great, the place looks lovely and the owner chatted to us and shared a lot of local info. 100% recommended.

Amazing staff! Every time we come here, we receive a warm welcome. Drinks are delicious and the food is good as well. Price wise also really good. Close to public transportation.

Excellent food and great selection of interesting beers. Staff is always friendly here. Try the saté or the poke bowls. Recommend coming by for lunch or dinner!

It's been ages since a person who works for a company actually greets you with enthusiasm and smiles. The tuna baguette is fantastic. Lots of beer to cheer with, too.

This is a real hidden Gem , very happy that in this part of Amsterdam there is a beautiful restaurant with nice terrace but the best of it all , is the owner and kitchen , you can taste the love and passion in all the great dishes of the menu ! Ps also great for at home picknicks
