Amazing restaurant. The staff is super friendly, and sat down to help translate the menu into English for us. Food is delicious with generous portions. The order took some time to arrive but it is definitely worth the wait. Even though I'm typically not a big fan of fries, I couldn't stop eating their fries serve on the side with dinner, even after getting full. Overall a great experience!

I'm sorry I don't know how to speak Dutch, but there is no language to find the words to thank this awesome place for it's comfort food, great beer but most importantly it's service. I'm sorry I don't know the name of the bar/server, but Sir, you rock! I haven't been ever in my life served as nicely friendly and professional like this true gent. And thank you for the water!!!
Also I had one of the most delicious burgers ever. Check the photo. Now that's a burger!!!!

Nice place with excelent bar tender and cuisine. We ate the beast ribs and hamburgers of Amsterdam. We enjoy the friendship and hospitality environment. We will come back!!!!

Kom al jaren bij Castell op het Leidseplein.Door wat ongelukkige gebeurtenis dacht ik, ná wat goede geluiden te hebben gehoord, ik probeer de ribs daar.
Wat een verassing!! Jean Pierre / broer en zoon hebben een top tent, ouderwets gezellig, FANTASTISCHE ZACHTE SPARERIBS met dezelfde marinade als Castell, patatjes erbij voor een weggeefprijs.
Het eten, de sfeer, oud Amsterdam is een belevenis, waar iedereen nog plat praat en humor heeft.

Als ik 6 sterren kon geven, deed ik dat!!
Reserveren is aan te raden.
Heerlijk gegeten, gewone kaart, ruime keuze, Heineken op de tap. Betaald parkeren rondom. Goede service, fijn terras, gezellige sfeer, ruimte voor persoonlijke wensen, en enorm betaalbaar. Dikke aanrader.

Er zijn in Amsterdam nog maar weinige kroegen die nog de Amsterdamse sfeer uitstralen en “de avonden” hoort daar zeker bij. Een echt familie eetcafé waar je heerlijk jezelf kunt zijn. Een top café!!
