Swapfiets Amsterdam West

I realised I had a flat tyre and located this store as the closest one. I arrived a few minutes after they closed but they still welcomed me inside. In a matter of 5 minutes they were able to assess my bike and set me up with a replacement. This really is where the value of the subscription is!!!

I’ve been renting from Swapfiets for several months now. I’m happy to say that would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to rent a bike for a month or more. They have a few options of bikes including e-bikes. If you are going to be around for a year or close to it then the year contract is the way to go, about €20/month. I chose the monthly option €24/month which gives you option of a 30- day notice to cancel.

I did have an issue when someone broke my brake cable. I took the bike in and they replaced it on the spot, so happy to see that. The bikes are solid and easily to handle. That’s all for now.

After hesitating for a while, I was persuaded to try out a subscription and rent a Swapfiets bike after yet another flat tire on my main means of transportation.

The first time used I was more active, the latter heavily impacted my mobility due to government restrictions on freedom of movement in covid times. Despite the discrepancy, I kept using the bike enough for it to feel worth the monthly fee. I received service from this place several times and they remain impressive service-wise.

On one occasion I went to the shop for a weird noise from the bike that they fixed within I kid you not 2 minutes. Another time they came to my home as the bike was not possible to move, and swiftly supplied me with a replacement bike. In fairness, I did have to wait one working day for help, so I would recommend to have another bike as backup in case you heavily rely on it to get from A to B.

Using the app is very smooth regardless if you're planning to visit the shop or request service on location. Living near the shop might be an advantage for me, but the fact that you can use the bike within all of Amsterdam and request service on location is well worth the money (and time). To be allowed to use it outside the city borders might be an advantage for some scenarios, but beware that you'll have to arrange service yourself or get the bike back to Amsterdam for service should it break.

All in all I am very happy with Swapfiets!

I got the bicycle from another store but the seat was too loose and I went to this store and they helped me and fixed it for me, they were kind and helpful, thanks.

Always quick service. Dropped in once without an appointment for a quick fix and they did it no questions asked. Make sure you have an appointment though.

This is the best swapfiets store in Amsterdam. Staff is very friendly and gave us preferred cycle color. It took only 5 mins to get a bike. Staff at east store is quite rude and don't listen to you much.
