Grand Hotel Amrâth Amsterdam

The room is beautiful, as is the overall atmosphere of the hotel. Lovely amenities and luxury relaxing.
Unfortunately the breakfast lady disturbed the lovely breakfast by saying it was not included and I had to pay right away. The front desk had the right information and it was straightened out.

Located near the train station, this hotel is wonderful. The building itself is really old and was preserved nicely (you should definitely take the old elevator with bench). It is a bit more pricey, but you get well equipped rooms, comfy beds, quiet rooms and amazing facilities. You have a heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room (well worth a try-especially if you arrive during the week).

Wonderful quirky architecture and a very interesting history. While you can no longer use it, the beautiful paternoster elevator was powered up and running during my visit.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating on my visit, good quality cocktails and food served in the bar; I didn't eat in the main restaurant but it seemed to be well-used.

Room was well appointed and clean with a comfortable bed, the solid walls meant it was very quiet and I slept well.

Definitely become one of my favourite hotels.

I loved staying at Grand Hotel Amrath. The hotel is spectacular with every room suite unique. Originally built as a Company head quarters for 6 shipping companies.
The staff were very accommodating, today they offered me a mini tour to see some of other magnificent rooms.
5 star all round. I will be back again.

Awesome accommodations and service. Great location. Highly recommend staying in the older section in a room on the 3rd or 4th floors. We were fortunate to get a room with the view of the canal. The room was amazing and the historical significance of the hotel and interior are amazing!

Maybe you remember us. Special thanks to the lovely lady at the breakfast buffet who kept an eye on our clients mom when she was alone at the buffet. Her service was absolutely outstanding.

Very close to the train station. Wish we could have stayed longer. Systems were down during check in so they gave us some free drinks at the bar. Checked all the boxes for a great comfortable stay!

Highly recommend this hotel! Only stayed for a night, wish we stayed longer as the facilities are great; swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna. The bedroom is very clean, spacious and comfortable. It is also in the middle of the centre, everything was walkable.

Absolutely amazing experience, highly recommended. Beautiful building inside and out. Layout of the place is incredible. Took me so long to find my room. It’s like they intentionally designed the place to confuse intoxicated tourists. Like having a built in escape room. Im convinced the floors aren’t numbered consecutively and the arrows point in random directions. Absolutely incredible!

Places has a proper Fawlty Towers vibe. Concierge was confirming someone’s lost luggage by the name in the underwear. Random woman burst into my room for no reason at 9 and then again at 11. No idea why, probably trying to steal stuff. But she did help me find the lift which saved me the 40 minutes trying to find it.

The staff at the Amrath Hotel are the kindest of any hotel I've ever stayed in. I am a three time open heart surgery survivor who came in from a horrific experience at the Barcelona airport. I was ill and arrived at around noon, well before the check-in time. From the moment we walked in, we could feel the warmth of the staff, even of the other guests. I was offered seating, refreshments, fresh air by several employees. There is a very warm, comfortable climate here. They worked with my husband to get us into a room asap even though we were early. In the shape I was in, these people were angels, especially compared to all we encountered at the Barcelona airport.

The room was large and luxurious with an extremely comfortable bed, and an epic bathtub. You have robes, slippers, and all the toiletries you might need. Mineral water is complimentary and provided daily.

The location is fabulous, across the street from Central Station. You cannot go wrong with the Amrath!!!

The hotel is really clean and it's in a fantastic location. However my only issue with it is you have to pay a deposit on arrival and are told it'll be with you when you leave, its been 10 days and still no deposit returned to me, and I also have contacted the hotel on numerous occasions and still nothing.

It was my first time here and I enjoyed the atmosphere and the location is good to walk to different food places, souvenir stores and cafes plus close to the train station. I will recommend it.

The Grand Hotel Amrath Amsterdam is a stunning place to stay, exuding an old-world charm with its historic corridors and doors. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The service is exemplary, and the hotel's central location in Amsterdam is a plus. I had a great experience at the bar with fantastic service and reasonably priced food. The only downside is the absence of air-conditioning, but they provide portable units and room fans.

Great find, The hotel looks Gothic from the outside but inside is a celebration of Art Deco. Very original, rooms and ensuite were great. Breakfast was a great variety to suit all. Location is near perfect, ten minutes from central station, away from the main areas Highly recommended.

Amazing place to stay. Perfect location with easy access to trams and trains. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Looking forward to staying again.

Great hotel with old history. Some of the rooms is far away from the reception. Nice and helpful staff, good breakfast.

Fantastic hotel, facilities, service, staff and location. Really can’t rate highly enough. The only negative was the crazy high cost for breakfast.

Believe it was built in the early 1930s Very old school style. The hotel has comfortable beds with great staff. Made my stay that much nicer. It is real close to Grand Central station a easy walk 5-10 minute walk. Good breakfast would definitely stay there again. Right near the heart of things easy to get to the food or fun. Whatever the definition is

Everything was absolutely phenomenal, from the room, to the service from the staff
Restaurant was lovely, and our server Emma was an absolute star.
