Village Grocer (City Junction)

Grocery store with wide selection of items. Items sold here are higher quality compared to the other supermarket within the vicinity. Fruits and vegetables are fresh too. They did sell the Malaysian fruit Salak.

Excellent supermarket with a full range of products. The fruit and vegetables are very good, as is the range of dry goods. There is also a full range liquor store (run by The Wine Shop}. The staff are friendly and helpful. The products are a mix of Asian and western sources.

One of the coldest supermarket that I ever visited.

Though the price is slightly pricier, but they have many other goods that are imported from overseas.

From a local sundry shop owner Mr Ong and developed into a high end supermarket, I respect his long vision and business strategy.

However, with the current situation, many goods are going to the high side, honestly not many could afford.

Update: Was a bit taken aback to see chicken packets with expiry dates of Dec 8 being sold at 50% discount. This is not good practice. I have no issues with price cuts when meats etc are a day or two away from expiry date, but thereafter a well-known grocer such as this should take it off their shelves and not offer it as a major win for the shopper.

Other than that a good experience as always. So for now will not take away any stars. But will pay more attention to expiry dates and packaging details.

Older review: Pretty well stocked. The staff are usually very helpful and know where things are put up. Good fruits and veggies of all types. The variety of cheeses from around the world is pretty decent. Also, has a very good non-halal section. The lady who serves at the Love a Loaf counter is cheerful and always has a kind word to say. Applause to her 👍👏.
A few suggestions: the fresh fish section could add some more variety. A bit disappointed with the variety of probiotic, low-fat yoghurt on offer.
The staff manning the cash counters are excellently trained, well-mannered and very quick. Some even help with packing your shopping bags 👍👌 👏.

Perfect, clean, huge, and a lot of expatriates desires. So long missed products found for a reasonable price. We didn’t know how much we missed that. High five,- will come back.

A nice place to shop for groceries. There are many local and imported brands and products which may not be available else where. Convenient parking space and easy to shop.

Paid a visit to Village Grocer today. It was very early in the day, at 10.15am, so not many people there. Lots of parking spaces available. They stock both local and imported goods. You can find a large variety of all kinds of groceries there. Fresh fruits and vegetables are also well stocked, and wine and liquor is also available. There is also a non halal section there.

Possibly the most well-stocked Village Grocer in Penang. Lots of fresh produce + loads of imported items that you could usually get in KL. Usual BITES promos and free gifts also apply here.

Quite large store and have a lot material,but it's a bit expensive than Lotus☺ btw, the vegetable looks fresh and in good condition

Nice place for grocery shopping. Don't expect super low prices. But there is a lot of variety and the layout looks very nice. Almost identical to the other Village Grocers.

I liked here because it had a wide selection and fresh products. Bread, wine and meat are especially good.

Finally Village Grocer had arrived Penang island! 😍 Great variety as the KL outlets.

I love to come to this place. They have a lot of fruits choices. And their vegetables are a lot too.
