The entrance is free of charge.

You have to write down your name, where you come from and how many people with you at the counter for visitors calculation.

The environment is clean and feels cool inside.

Kids can have fun inside to play snake chess.

Clear explanation and labels in Malay and English.

Very interesting and informative place. No one was there when we arrived. Just registered our name on the book at the reception counter. About half way through the museum, then came a man in charged of the place. It’s free entrance. There’s a big interactive game like snake&ladder for kids to enjoy at the early part of the exhibition. There’s also a moving dinosaur in the middle towards the end of the museum; quite scary at first.

Loads of information with artifacts, old photos etc. We loved the gems part where we can learn and explore more about garnets, jades, and diamonds. Love it. Lots of pretty stones available as well.

Spent around 30mins there. Nice to get some
cold airconditioned while strolling reading the information, rest and relax there after walking in a hot weather outside.

Very informative. For those who has zero knowledge in geology might think all are just rocks. But it's an eye opener on our understanding of the world.

I love geology so this place was heaven. I love the rocks on display and the cooling aircon. I wish I could have stayed longer. The dinosaur was a little scary... though. Free entry too and the lady at the front counter was really chill so yay

Small but very informative museum. Didn't expect a full blown museum that come with FREE entrance.
My kids can relate back those minerals & rocks exhibition with Minecraft game.
It's located within government office compound and the parking space are limited. Average time spend less than 1 hour, and may take longer if you want to read everything.
Highly recommended to visit.

Very Informational place. Not too big just nice. Very quite and empty. There were no charges to enter the place. Helpful staff. Once coming out of the museum on your left will be another building. Enter the building and there will be a staircase to your left. Go down the staircase and you will arrive at another small information centre mainly about all the kinta valley geoparks. There are maps and books there too. There's also a library in the building but I did not enter. Overall quite a nice experience. And you will have to write down your name at the security guard place before entering the museum.

Although this geological museum is relatively small. But the stone samples on display are beyond expectations and can give geology enthusiasts a great experience. And it's free admission!

Really like this museum because:
1. Friendly staff
2. Clear floor plan of all the exhibition sections in the leaflet
3. Well maintained of all the exhibits
4. Well organized information
5. Lots of the exhibits were found in Malaysia but rarely notice by us (local)
6. Will be an interesting field trip for primary or secondary students, learning about geography

But, to improve on:
1. Latest information... Exhibits seems to be before 2011 or earlier
2. Provide free guided tour (at least peak season like school / public holiday
3. Have new / special exhibition once a while

Nestled within the compound of the Dept of Mineral and Geoscience research centre, parking was easy and entry was free. Exhibits are clearly labelled, displays are well-ordered and plenty of information in English and Bahasa. Not just rocks! We also learned about tin mining, fossils (were there dinosaurs in Malaysia?), geoscientific instruments, groundwater drilling, and more!

However the museum needs to be updated, for example it didn't include recent major geological finds such as suevite rocks from Lenggong, which wasn't listed as a UNESCO Geopark in the museum Geopark section.

It's a small muzium and well maintained by the local authority. The best part is the TRex model. Yes! It's a dinosaur model in the muzium. Free entrance
