Always nice to visit and walk in a park.
Rented a car and came just for a day trip and hiked to Timpohon Gate along the road.

It is not easy as the road is 5km and quite steep at certain stretches.
But the road is shady and the air was cool enough.

Should stay at least one night to do the trails.

Really great park and very helpful headquarters and museum. It's also worth noting that if you buy a ticket for Kinabalu in Park that it works for the Hot Springs as well so you don't need to buy a second ticket. There are lots of little trails that you can enjoy and a botanical gardens inside.

We stayed in the Sutera Sentuary Park Lodges. It is amazing, you are in the park surrounded by forest trails. The temperature is nice and cooling, and the breakfast served is good. Would love to come back again

Nice and cozy place. The park is located 2 km. from downtown. It provides various types of residence. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Everyone can speak English.

We didn’t hike the Mt Kinabalu this time as we think we are not ready yet, require 2d1n minimum of hiking duration. We just drop by the park and walk around the trail and enjoy the greenery and jungle lush. We also dropped by Liwagu for a quick lunch. Kinda enjoy this place, definitely a must place to go if you are in Sabah.

Lots of hiking trails to explore although some might be closed for repair. Ranging from 1-2 hours to full day hikes. Hikers have to check-in and check-out before and after hiking respectively.

Nice place to spend for 1-2 nights getaway. Most of the accommodation may have an ‘old’ feel but it is in reasonable condition.

Parking may be an issue during peak periods. Be prepared to walk from point to point.

Well organized park as the previous visit was since 2019

Tried natural trails - Kiau View trails and pandan trails.

Trails split road a bit unclear, it should turn left or right. Will get lost easily.

Quite adventure time, hopefully tourists center may also take note which hiker is on the natural trails

A lovely place to stroll in the park with the rainforest trees and flowers along the way. The path may be slippery when it rains. A good experience for nature lovers.

Amazing climb, incredibly hard. It's never ending steps. Train hard, do lots of stairs before coming here. Opt to stay an extra night at the rest house so you dont have to descend from the summit all in one day. Expert tip for warm water, getting some from the water dispenser in the building across from the eating area to wash up with or else it's going ice cold.

Serenity, calm and beautiful. It's a world historical sites and have so many interesting things to share to everyone in the whole world. Come one come all for the great natural environment. Mountain Kinabalu is the highest mountain of South East Asia on Borneo Island.

RM 10 per malaysian citizen, free for senior malaysian citizens. RM 5 per car. There were many trails in this park. Amazing experience to walk in these trails. It's not hot at all. It's so relaxing to listen to birds' chirping, the wind blowing on the trees, and feel the nature.

Well maintained. Great variety of flora and fauna. Enjoyed the Botanic Garden and the nice weather. There are few hiking trails too. Gateway for the hikers to Mount Kinabalu.

Make sure to stay around and walk through the trails and the botanical garden of the Kinabalu Park Headquarters, either before or after you climb Mt. Kinabalu. It's really worth it, and literally everyone can enjoy it cause it doesn't need a particular level of fitness.

I came a few days early before the intended climb. Sabah Parks authority told me it was already fully booked and I should have booked ahead, there were already the maximum of 167 persons or so per day for the next few days.

They put us on the waiting list for a few days later, and we got a call that we got the spot one day before. I liked their professional manner which they kept though it was always hectic every morning as people gathered, and all papers needed to be signed, payments made etc.

The trails are very good, so was the accomodation and the food was great as well. Just have an umbrella and a rain poncho ready as light rain can come anytime (we did). Had amazing views from the top at dawn. Our 8 year old made it as well :-)
