Playacar Palace® All Inclusive Resort

My husband and I traveled here for the first time this week. We thoroughly enjoyed it! This place is a great spot to land if you want to be in a place that is clean, has delicious food, amazing staff and want to relax. We had expectations of it being larger and with a larger beach, HOWEVER after 24 hours of settling in we soon saw what so many (and there were many of the folks who have been returning here 20+ years) loved.
The staff is warm, friendly, accommodating and all so kind. It is extremely clean, the food is AMAZING. The beach yes is small, that is because of our climate shifts and erosion though, and within a day or two when the sea current shifted there was more beach and it was fabulous.
Get up early and watch the sunrise and get yourself a chair because many of them are taken because this is a smaller hotel than one may initially expect (think boutique and all inclusive wrapped into one) yet, we had absolutely no trouble getting chairs and if you should need help or need to get more just ask one of the staff, they will be happy to help.
There are plenty of excursions off site to do if that is your thing (those are not included in the all inclusive price), nightly entertainment which is great, food which is off the charts yum, comfy beds, and the BEST sunrises 🌅 one will see!

We traveled here for mid-winter break with our 6 and 7 year olds. We all had a blast! Check in was easy. We were able to park our rental without a problem and for free. The room was sparkling clean. The hotel is simple, exactly what we were looking for. We were not interested in a huge resort complex. The beach was good enough, though not amazing - it was rather small. The pool was perfect for kids our age. They had pool tables, which are kids enjoyed often. The nightly entertainment ranged from really good to so-so. The service was excellent. Our room was cleaned twice each day. The food was good and they offered plenty of options. My celiac husband was able to eat without getting sick, though he required assistance from the chef each meal. The coffee in the room was good! The location was absolutely perfect - close to town, yet private enough when not wanting the chaos of Quinta Avenida. We would come back!!

Location wise this place is great. About 80 yards from 5th Avenue. The beach is great, the service is excellent and room service is 24/7 and great. The employees are helpful and very friendly. Highly recommended!

We visited Playacar Palace from February 12th to the 24th 2024 and having been there before we were very excited to be back. As always our experience was absolutely amazing!!!! This is truly our home away from home. Starting with a wonderful visit from David Arubio the hotel manager to the maid that made our room absolutely amazing everyday we cannot say enough about how amazing this resort is. Our Diamond Concierge Vanessa and Eder made sure all of our requests were taken care of.
The pool Concierge's Aaron and Ignacio along with the pool wait staff Daniela, Sylvia and Ricardo all get an A+++. They are the best!
Ana and the entire entertainment staff work very hard to make the day so much fun!

It's always easy to be negative but I think those are are just narrow minded people who don't see the good in anything.
Bottom line is this is a five star resort with amazing service and food and it all starts with training. David has trained his staff to go above and beyond!
We were very sad to leave and can't wait to be back!

Just wanted to give a shout out to Victor and the staff at the hotel. I arrived early and they promptly took care of me. While my room was not yet ready, Victor at the front desk made sure to let me know what to expect and how to pass the time while waiting. The whole check-in process was a breeze and as soon as my room was ready, they notified me. I later told Victor the rest of my group of 19 was also coming to the hotel under separate reservations. He didnt skip a beat and made sure they were all taken care of at arrival. Superior service from Victor! As I walked through the hotel, everyone knew my name. I like this location because it's close to everything and the food is good. Wifi and cellphone service is very spotty.

It's probably the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed at. The food and room service was 6 stars out of 5 stars. Yessienna and Roberto are the best servers in the buffet area. Never left with a want or care for food needs.

My family and I loved everything about our vacation here! The location was great because of Quinta Venida & the ferry ride to go to Cozumel being so close. Everything was clean at the resort. Most importantly, the staff were great. From the bar tenders, to the cleaning services, and all of the entertainment staff, we felt like we fit right at home with how welcoming and enjoyable our time was with everyone around us. We recommend Playacar 100%, and we want to thank them again for making our vacation memorable and worthwhile! Our only recommendation would be to fly outside of Spirit airlines. We had to spend a full day at the airport because Spirit "overbooked" and didn't have enough seating for us. Other than this, the resort itself and everything else was wonderful!

At first we concerned because of no restaurant reservations after 4:00 pm. But Alex from customer relation arranged a perfect birthday dinner for us. We had a great vacation. We Can’t wait to go back.

What a beautiful property - will certainly be recommending! Our server, Israel was attentive and wonderful to see everyday with his smiling face. Cannot wait to return to this resort with their help & friendly staff. Very clean and appropriate for all ages.

Excelente! We loved everything service was amazing! Location was the best right next to la Quinta Avenida you can walk to it. Food was great! Loved madre mía, Alfredo was the best server! Everyone was great! Rooms excellent will return for sure !

Nothing is really in a good location in this area. Everything near the coast is a mad dash to get too. But all of the Palace Resorts are amazing in the southern tip of Mexico. We stayed in this one and I particularly loved the pool area and the surrounding area's. The mall around the corner is really nice and a convenient walk. It has it's own guards and rules for vending/squatting. But don't stray too far away from there unless you want to be bombarded by guides and local shop keeper's. The service in the resort is always 5 star with a smile. And the food/drink is great... and plenty of it. The nicer dinning "4 restaurants" are exquisite. And the coffee bakery is just ridiculous... we booked another week long stay before we left. But be prepared for the membership meeting with the staff. They are eager to bring on more Palace members

Great location, amazing tours to plan with the family. No need to rent a car throughout our stay. Which saved money. Ideally located to see the nightlife or to visit Cozumel. The buffet was amazing changing out selections daily. Which was a surprise to be an all inclusive where they care what they serve. Plan to come back.

This is a very nice resort for couples or families with older kids (there is a not of the beach in the front of the resort, you have to walk a bit (1 min), that is not a problem at all for older kids). Food is great, service is wonderful. The restaurants are amazing, especially the Italian. What I liked the most about this place is that the employees do not look stressed or overworked as in many other places, that is a sign of a good management. Staff is friendly and prompt and it looks like they really like their jobs. Location in Playa Carmen is close to the center of the town. It is very close to the ferry and you can go to the sister resort at Cozumel and spent a day there (take with you your snorkeling gear and you will not need a snorkeling tour since you can see a plenty of fish there). We came of a rainy day and at first my kids were not that impressed since we used to go to larger resorts, but we were very happy with our vacation at Payacar Palace. We were walking in town, taking tours from local companies (all of them were great), scuba diving, etc. I will be not surprised if we come again to taste all dishes at Italian restaurant).

I went for my daughter's wedding. We all had an amazing time. With an all inclusive resort it made it easy for the kids (whom eat all day long. Lol). The staff were great, polite, and were attentive. Food was good. I had a walk our suite and the view was beautiful and relaxing.

Our room was wonderful! We had a walk out suite with our own beach chairs and sitting area with a love seat and table right on the porch! The service and attention from the staff was amazing, as always at Palace. The food exquisite. If you go, definitely do the Chef’s dinner and the Mayan restaurant Lahna’s. They were the best culinary experience I’ve ever had. This resort is a definite must.

Stayed at Playacar Palace to celebrate my mom’s 50th birthday & the whole staff made it memorable, especially by giving my mom a mini birthday cake. So many positive things to say about this resort- very clean, fun activities & entertainment, and most importantly very welcoming and kind staff members. Iran, from the Cafe, made us feel so welcomed- she remembered small details about us, which was super nice. Dana from the entertainment staff was also super nice & welcoming. Overall, every single staff member we came in contact with was super nice, friendly and attentive. Will definitely return!!

Great hotel in a prime spot (off the beaten path but within walking distance), and the service was terrific. The pool activities and games were a nice break from lying around. Also, we felt very safe and well looked after there. I would go back in a heartbeat.
