Ikarus Kiteboarding Centre - Cancun Isla Blanca

This was hands down the best experience and location a person could ask for. The staff is unbelievable and sets a standard on how to take care of customers with knowledge, expertise, customer service and a relaxed experience. The lagoon depth and jet ski service makes this the only spot I will bring my kids to learn. I was not able to stay in rooms as I was in a resort but from what I could see everything is well maintained and cleaned. Thank you !

Had a great time kiting here for the weekend. Adrian was a fantastic instructor. He took me from barely being able to stand up on the board to confidently going upwind in just a few hours.

Great lagoon to learn wing foiling for a beginner. Mikey was super patient and worked with me on learning the basics. I was able to glide and stand by the end of my 3rd lesson :) Jet ski assist to get further out but still waist deep. My husband enjoyed kiting and was able to rent larger kites to accommodate the wind.

The location is perfect for learning kite surfing and wing foil with what seems like miles of flat lagoon water to learn in.
The facility is clean and the vibe is awesome. Everyone there to learn and share and have fun.
My teacher Mowgli was exceptional! He has a very kind soul. I was ready to quit the sport of kite surfing and he turned me around in one lesson! He is patient, funny and really knows the sport well so he is great at teaching and helping you understand the wind, the board,your positioning. Also constantly making sure I was comfortable my belt was properly adjusted. I can’t say enough about my experience there and with Mowgli. Also Mowgli gave me some excellent food choices near Cancun.
My husband had Adrian and he also was extremely pleased with him. He said Adrian was very encouraging, knowledgeable and kind.
The restaurant also! I have had at least 7 meals there and everyone was excellent from their tacos to fried rice. All delicious and the drinks as well. They had some IPA made a mean margarita!!
Overall our experience has been 100% here and we will be back. Thank you!

I can’t say enough positive things about Ikarus! It has everything you need for a great time kiting. I had Mikey as my instructor and I’m thrilled with my progress! I was able to get IKO 3 this week. Esteban helped me with a kite repair from a previous kite trip also. The vibes are chill, the spot is not busy- come here!

I took 13h of kiteboarding classes with Adrian at Ikarus. This was an amazing experience. The spot is the best I have ever been to with flat and shallow waters. The school is also top notch with varied and recent equipment for every style and condition. Last but not least, Andrian was a fantastic teacher. He was able to spot exactly what I needed to fix when learning new things. For me, this is the best spot and school in Mexico for kitesurfing!

I had a great time learning wing foiling with Moogly.
Moogly is very personable and has a true passion for teaching wing foiling.
I loved moogly teaching style.
He gives some great tips to make you understand the techniques of wing foiling.
He corrected my mistakes at every of my attempt (every time he told me exactly why I fell) which made me progress greatly in short amount of time.
They have all the necessary material for teaching wing foiling small and big boards, small and big wings.
Moogly has a great sense of what kind of material you need based on your experience and the wind for that day.
One big bonus point that I also appreciated was that they have few jet skis. So, even if you go too far they can come pick you up with them. They also use them to put you in the perfect spot where the wind is strong enough.
The club manager or instructor was always in contact with us regarding next classes.
Club has a positive vibe with a restaurant and bathrooms.
Everyone at the club is friendly and look out for each other.
The beach was clean and is located in the lagoon part of playa Bianca with enough wind to have fun and to not be too dangerous. Will come back.

Had a 3hr private lesson with Mowgli. Was a great experience to dual down my water starts I would definitely go back. Good do better with how the payment is managed. Would prefer not to pay an additional 6% for PayPal transactions.

Nice rooms. Great restaurant with vegan options. New kite gear. Flat water. Very warm, friendly and helpful English speaking staff. Contact them to verify wind and then go. You won't regret it.

One of the best kiteboarding spots on this planet!
While over the past three years l've really enjoyed honing my kiteboarding skills at the Ikarus Kite Center with Mowgli - one of the coolest guys on this planet, and like the other highly skilled instructors, he is fluent in many languages.
This is the place to go to learn or improve your flat water skills on knee to belly deep water for miles. Super approachable, easy to learn, refresh skills etc. Everything about this amazing venue has always felt easy. While I have not stayed in the rooms, nor have I eaten at the restaurant, everyone l've spoken with who has said the rooms were simple and comfortable, and the food was delicious. All of the equipment is top notch and very well maintained. There are clean bathrooms and showers. Scheduling lessons or just wave running support is quick and easy. The surrounding nature is beautiful and so are all of the people that everyday make this place special. I can't wait to go back next year.

Ikarus exceeded my expectations. It was the simplest and cheapest accommodation my friend and I stayed in, during our several weeks touring the Mayan peninsula (we slept in the tents in the covered loft) but we agreed we slept the best here out of anywhere. Listening to the wind and night creatures while falling asleep was so nice. The place is so well run, friendly and chill. I loved how there were always cool people to chat with, of many ages and ethnicities. Lots of older people who got into the sport later in life, with lots of great life experience and stories, which was exactly up our alley, as we are in our 40s and 50s. The ladies at the little restaurant are wonderful and the food was delicious. Love how there are kids, dogs, ducks and roosters running around. Love how it's family run. And the kiteboarding was really as perfect as I could have asked for. My instructor, JT, was the best. Patient, eloquent and clear at explaining things, empathetic, knowledgeable. And also flexible with lesson times if I didn't want to push myself too hard on certain days. Exchanged contacts with a cool woman I met there; we might meet up to kiteboard again sometime! Something else interesting is, I think because we were so relaxed there, my friend and I never felt the urge to eat too much. So we got more fit and lost weight! Even though the food there is scrumptious and I was burning lots of calories kiteboarding. The water is bathwater warm and waist high for miles; perfect place to learn. The winds were consistent, and the seadoo guys were always around to catch a lift with. I was expecting to have to rough it a bit, but the showers and bathrooms were always immaculately cleaned. Thank you so much Ikarus family, for such a wonderful time. We miss it, will have fond memories, and would definitely go back.

I had an amazing stay, in this simple but clean place. The staff, the owners and kite instructors are so nice. The kite spot (La Punta) is beautiful, flat and surprisingly windy. The whole place is a vibe. I recommend.

Awesome spot! Great instructors, food, and vibes. Was able to progress quicker due to shallow, relatively flat waters and the help of the jet ski. Highly recommend!

First time on this place and is not going to be the last.

An amazing experience. Great place to learn to Kiteboard. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was simple but delicious. My wife took 2 days of lessons and had a great time while progressing to riding one way. Alex was an excellent instructor and Adrian the manager made us feel at home. Can not wait to go back! Next time I plan to stay in the rooms on site.

Meet the Focca, he’s super host! hope I spelled that right. We stayed in one the rooms close to reception. Was always breezy and cool, people were great, food is amazing and Kiting on the lagoon was great. We were there in mid December wind was around 15knts on two days. Lagoon so flat water great for training and no worries when you lose the board.
