The Reef Coco Beach Resort & Spa

We stayed here for 10 days and we really liked it. It’s a big hotel, with a big pool and a nice beach. The variety of food is very good. We liked the breakfast the best.
We think the hotel is very kids friendly. They also have this little kids pool and my kids loved it. Everything is close by from the hotel so it’s not a problem to walk somewhere.
Additionally the offer shows and games to play.
There are just two things I recommend them to improve. We found lots of cigarette buts on the beach and when the snack bar gets really busy the waiter seems to be a little overwhelmed and could really need some help.

We had a wonderful time at our resort. Our activities were very fun. Boris, Edgar, Michel, Valeria and Carolina were amazing at organizing our activities. The buffet and bar met expectations. Victor help us with a luggage at the start of our trip and kept it safe while we waited for our shuttle. Cant wait to come back again next year! Rooms were very clean. Everyone was very friendly and made a lot of friends from all over the world.

We loved our time at The Reef Coco Beach! The hospitality was excellent, clean rooms, good drinks, fun entertainment and a quiet beach. Boris, Edgar and everyone else made us feel welcome and entertained! What a great place to relax and have fun.

I had an incredible experience at this resort everyone was so awesome! Boris, Mitchel, Edgar, Carolina, Valeri were amazing they always made sure we had something to do on the resort if it was volleyball, Olympic, bingo, trivia, and so much more!
The bartender were so attentive and so much fun Wilbert, Jorge, Marco, Gerardo always made it so much fun and always knew what you wanted.
The front desk people were also so awesome Tania was so helpful when booking restaurants and helping us with anything we needed
When arriving victor greeted us with two mimosas and helped us to our room with our bags.
At night we got to witness a mariachi band flamethrowers, karaoke, and a beach party.
The food was good they have a snack bar, buffet and couple restaurants on the resort I love them all!

I always felt safe and being here you are also super close to fifth avenue with so many fun shops and cool restaurants as well!

Everything was very clean!

This was my first time in Mexico and it definitely won’t be my last! If you are looking for a place to relax or have fun they do it all!

My second trip there within a few years and ... I could not love the Reef Coco more! It genuinely feels like a second home, and it will be our vacation spot for years to come. Thank you Edgar for being an amazing fun director and Daniel and Zamora for being amazing servers - we appreciate you all so much! See you next trip. :)

This was our 4th stay at Coco Reef and we enjoy it just as much as the first time. The rooms and facilities are a bit dated but thats ok with us.

The food is buffet style unless you want to make reservations for the Italian restaurant or Hibachi. The buffet was always good for us but maybe not if you are a picky eater...

The staff are always very pleasant and accommodating. Valerie in the kids club was wonderful! and Boris was great as usual. they make sure to engage you in activities if you want to or leave you alone if you prefer.

After reading some of the reviews I was honestly considering changing the hotel after booking it but I'm so glad I didn't.

From the very first steps in, we were greeted with so many happy faces despite the fact that it was late in the evening. We were approached by the sales team but after telling them that we had a long flight and are tired they left us alone.

The room was big and it had a massive comfortable bed. It was quiet too unlike the reviews tell you, we had no trouble falling asleep whatsoever, actually I've never fallen asleep faster than there. It was cleaned daily and nice to come back to after a whole day out.

The hotel is in a great location, it's 7 mins walk away from the main 5th Avenue in Playa with plenty of restaurants, shops etc. and 7/11 shop is around the corner in case you forgot to buy something before traveling.

Food wise, it is your typical buffet food so don't expect Michelin star restaurant but expect simply decent food especially if you like the unhealthy stuff, we were in the snack bar all the time and it was our favourite food because we did want to eat all the burritos, nachos etc. Breakfast options were really good too and the people working in the restaurant were so polite, with good manners and so friendly, running around like crazy, very hard working people ! One thing that seemed a little pointless was that you were walked to your table, sat down, with the ladies put a napkin on your laps when you have to get up and get your food, it's like a ritual that's not needed because you have to get up and select your food anyway. We didn't enjoy the Mexican restaurant as much as we did the Italian but I guess that's because of the dish selection that we've made, nothing to do with the quality of the food because it was good.

Pool and the swim up bar are fantastic and the activities around the pool are always fun even for the antisocial people. Boris is so full of energy all the time, he is such a positive soul there.

The hotel has its own beach that is surrounded by a net so no sargassum is coming in (not any significant amounts) and you feel safe from sea creatures too. Beach is clean and beautiful and it's only for he guests. There are a few cabanas on the beach and around the pool and we LOVED them. Yes, there are boats parked behind the net in the sea but there's nothing the hotel can do about it and actually if you want to have a clear ocean view you can go to the left of the hotel and boats are out of your view. I don't understand why that would bother anyone.

WiFi works everywhere apart from the beach.

Nothing was ever stolen even when left unattended, nothing was ever wrong, all we got from this hotel was smiles, positive attitude, hard working people working around you to make sure you have everything you need and want.

It's been honestly an amazing affordable experience and I couldn't recommend it more!

This was our first, but definitely not our last visit to The Reef Coco Beach resort. We loved how close we were to 5th ave and the beach was beautiful. Food was really good, always found something to munch on. We went diving through the on-site dive shop, and had an excellent dive. Very clean resort, very helpful staff.

Love this place, great food, views, atmosphere and Service. Already planning my 4th trip here for 2025!

The only negative thing I could say is to have a dedicated bartender for the swim up bar.

The days before my trip here I read some of the reviews and was worried that I had made a mistake booking this hotel, but that couldn't be further from the truth. We had a fantastic 10 days at this hotel. Its everything you would want from an all inclusive hotel and the staff are AMAZING! I recommend upgrading to premium for a day and visiting their sister hotel in playacar. We had a spa day booked there and were able to avail of their shuttle service with the premium wristbands - which worked out about the same as a taxi transfer. The location is perfect, we really loved having the beach access. Its about 5/10 mins walk to 5th avenue and we were always picked up last and dropped off first for almost every day trip we went on. Will recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this area.

Amazing food! I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food in this hotel: I’ve travelled fair bit in Mexico and usually stay in 5 star bigger resort chains which usually lack flavours in their food playing it safe to cater ‘for the mases’ and perhaps less sophisticated tastes. Different story here: the food actually had authentic flavours! Everything from breakfast to dinner was excellent. Special attention to a la carte Mexican: their pozole rojo is to die for! I have also enjoyed my steak al mezcal. So don’t listen to the reviews who state the contrary- those critics probably never seen more than a bigmac in their lives (not to upset anyone).
Staff is very helpful as well, rooms are ok, but clean and have all you need. I would wish for bigger minibar selection though. Overall: very happy customer.

Man!! Should’ve stayed longer - exceeded our expectations- prime location, fabulous facility and people (especially Edgar and his team in entertainment- and edger #2 In the restaurants- they work so hard to please the guests)

Hibachi grill is a must do if you go here ...staff puts on a really good show ....several 1st for Hibachi experience.

We had an amazing time here! The staff were very friendly and attentive. From morning to evening always working hard. Our room was cleaned daily. The food was very good, buffet had a good variety of food. Drinks were constantly flowing and even topping us up when running low without asking which is nice. Pleasant beach, trying to do well with clearing the seaweed. Close to 5th avenue. For the price we paid we were extremely happy with everything and all the all inclusive service.

Just stayed here for a week for our anniversary and my boyfriend and I had an amazing time! We were greeted with drinks!!! The staff was amazing, particularly Milton, he made amazing drinks and always treated us as friends! The location was exceptional, especially if you want to plan a day out of the resort, it’s a short walk away from the famous 5th avenue!! The beech view was amazing, boats were always out there but we didn’t mind it at all, considering you’re close to the city! The beech had seaweed, but again, it’s an ocean and that’s going to occur, but the guys were out there everyday working hard to remove it! They offer kayaking, which was super fun!! The maid service was also exceptional and respectful of our belongings, the rooms were clean when we arrived and were cleaned daily if we wished! The buffet was decent, I liked it more than my boyfriend, but definitely reserve dinners at the Mexican, Italian, and Japanese restaurants they have located above!! Delicious food!!! Alan was our waiter at the Mexican and Italian restaurant, and his service was beyond exceptional!! It’s a smaller resort but it’s perfect, especially if you don’t want to be running around and walking forever to get to the pool and beach!

Definitely book if you want to have fun outside of a resort, have all inclusive for drinks and food, and want to have a relaxing vacation with family or friends!!!

If you see Milton working at the bar, definitely go and get a drink from him!

This coming Jan threw all of Feb I will be going to My Home Away From Home.
This will be 21 years, it takes me 3 days to do all my (catching up on life), with the warm staff. They all say Sue San welcome home with a big smile.
I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else to start my year of travelling.

This place is amazing apart from one thing, the food. The rooms were great, the staff were great, and the location, but the food was not, the presentation, the choice and the amount was sorely lacking. Many times, my wife and I just had soup due to the poor choice. Also we were invited to take part in their membership scheme, but this was just a ruse to get you to pay money up front for something you had no idea was about, and it was all friendly to start with until they asked for $5000 up front and my wife asked for time to think about it, and then it got nasty, and the guy said the meeting was over . It was just a hardshell, dont fall for it

My 1st time all inclusive and our 1st anniversary trip- just HEAVEN. We went premium so we got top shelf booze and members only bar access, we also got to go check out Reef28 for the day. We really enjoyed the overall service, seriously, these guys are amazing. Tip or no, they are still attentive and pouring heavy! I liked the Japanese restaurant and hibachi. The food was ok, but ya gotta wander around town for good eats! The beach was beautiful and the water clear, yep there's a bit of sargassum but it won't kill you lol it didn't bother us any. We got a free trip to Tulum & couples massages and it was worth it! I will definitely stay here again- definitely do premium again, and definitely getting my drinks from Francisco. It's beach front, close to the major touristy strip, and you can walk to the bus station to go back to the airport! Book during off season from the hotel directly for best rates, they are very reasonable when booked in advance!
