Hotel Riu Tequila

I came here with 3 of my girlfriends and we had the best time ever. There were minor cons but we still had a great time. Food & drink staff was always kind (shout out to Luis & Daniel at the sports bar). House keeping always gave us what we needed and left cute towel animals. The food was great, many options for all dietry restrictions in the buffet. Riu Tequila has hard working staff and I am so grateful for them for making our experience so surreal. We will definitely be back soon.

We love the tequila. The rooms are tad tired after all these years however the renovations to the rest of the hotel are good. The room staff were amazing and the beautiful animals they left us always made us smile🙏😍The service and food are fantastic. The gourmet restaurants are brilliant and good you don't need to book. They have a paging system 👍The sports bar is brilliant if you like your sports. The staff are excellent. So friendly and helpful and polite. 💙🇲🇽👍😍

Excellent hotel. This was our first time here with our 3 children (13, 10 and 6) and we will definitely return.

The staff are amazing in every sector. They can't do enough for you.

Most people are nervous about all inclusive food, but it was great and they cater for all. They have a main restaurant, steal restaurant, Italian and Mexican.

Whilst on holiday, we had a conversation about things we are looking forward to or have missed. Basically, there wasn't many things, which makes it a great holiday.

This hotel is amazing! Amazing location, amazing atmosphere, fantastic food and drink!
Sat down at lunch and had my sunglasses stolen, told the waiter and they done everything to find them, Mario and the other waiters (didn’t get their names) at Rui yukatan beach bar were amazing, the security were involved and they found the sunglasses at some man’s table hidden, they waited for extra people to then grab the glasses. They were so helpful even though they were such low value glasses!

The beach is also the best beach I’ve ever seen, incomparable! Blue waters!
The neon party is also fantastic!
One of the best places we’ve visited and would highly recommend!

One of the best hotels I have been to! Clean, staff was amazing, they did 140% to make sure we had a good time! Food was amazing, variety of choice was overwhelming. Cleanliness was on point. Honestly so grateful for the staff working there, they took such an amazing care of us. Would go again without a doubt!

Rooms are not to My deco at all, not a fan of dark wood! Do need modernising, and stay clear of the shop unless you want to pay $10 for a bag of crisps and $11 for a fridge magnet!

Been to this resort 4 times now was here in march 2024 and honestly this is the best resort I've been to the atmosphere is amazing staff is great entertainment is amazing very clean, food is 10/10 everyone is super friendly would back another 10 times! 10/10 recommend. I also had an injury while staying here and everyone was very caring and quick with getting me to the clinic to get my stitches.

I wasn't sure about all-inclusive, and especially unsure about what appeared to be a 'party' resort, but Riu Tequila proved itself to be kid friendly and an outstanding experience.
The staff were very friendly, the events were fun and not disruptive, and having the beach club just a few minutes walk (or quicker by golf cart). The food was quite good (except at the Asian restaurant, unfortunately).
In all, I would come back and definitely recommend this to other travelers

This hotel , staff ,food and drinks were absolutely fantastic the staff can't do enough for you they are so friendly and hard working .
The animation team are fantastic the way they work all day and night to make sure your stay is perfect .
The shows of a evening are like watching a west end show in London
I will definitely be coming back and would recommend this hotel to everybody

Great place, great buffets, well kept. However, this resort is inland, not on the beach. They have ONE 8 passenger golf cart shuttle to the beach, that you WILL wait for. They need 2 or 3. The beach is a 7 minute walk, and my wife and I walked to stay fit! Beach and sand are great. Nice place if you don't mind the walk to the beach.

First time in Mexico lovely hotel staff are so friendly and helpful. Food is great, drink are good but only 1 beer and it's not the best. Maid's are amazing clean rooms every day please tip them they deserve it. Would definitely return.

What makes this 5 stars is the fact we could leave the resort and hang out at Yucatan by the beach all day and use all of their food and drink services throughout the day whilst we stayed at the beach and pools. In the evening it was nice to head back for food and evening entertainment. I think Tequila stands out for food quality and entertainment compared to the other two hotels.

Our routine was to start early and see the sunrise on the beach, have breakfast at Yucatan, spend all day at the beach and then head back up to Tequila for dinner and entertainment.

I think Tequila is a beautiful resort but was glad to be able to escape it for the day to enjoy the beach

2 stars go to Tui for their misleading advertising of another hotel we had originally booked, forcing us to make very last minute changes to our booking and causing extra expenses to us.

We just stayed at Riu Tequila with our family of 6. It was a great experience. We didn't do a lot of research and booked it because it was one of the few options still available over spring break and had really good reviews. We have stayed a lot of places over the years and I am so glad we ended up here.

We got 2 connecting rooms which has an outer door that leads to 2 rooms at the end of a short hallway. The outer door locks and either room key opens it. The hallway was hot and kind of smelled but not a big deal. The rooms were super clean and comfortable. Each room had 2 small beds (double beds maybe?) that were pushed together to make 1 large bed. This didn't really work so we got a rollaway which was nice and gave us the extra room we needed for 6. Each room had 2 extra blankets and we requested a couple more. Air conditioning was strong and good. Shower water temperate was always good. Toilets worked perfectly. We had zero issues.

The service at this resort was probably the best we have ever had. From the moment we arrived until the very end, the service did not miss a beat. Everything we requested to the room came quickly and we never had to request anything twice. Everyone was super helpful and welcoming. We didn't have any issues getting towels and we are late risers.

The food is good overall. I don't have the highest expectations for all inclusive resorts after all of our experiences but this one was definitely up there at the top of the list. The buffets are large and there is always something good enough to eat. I was a little sad that the restaurants are just additional buffets that don't seem much different than the main buffet. The only real restaurant was the steakhouse which was actually solid. My ribeye was truly medium-rare and for a thin cut I was impressed. The beach club buffet was our favorite, it had good fresh tacos made to order and various rice/stir fry dishes that were always solid. Our family also did enjoy the cheap steaks that were always available at the buffet, the french fries which were surprisingly solid, and the decent ribs which was another surprise. I would say the biggest disappointment was the sea food, none of it was very good in my opinion which I would have expected to be the better choice being on the ocean.

This resort not being on the beach was a non-issue for us. We spend most of our time at the beach and the Riu Yucatan pools. The beach area they have designated for Riu Tequila and the sister resorts is amazing. This beach was pristine. The sand and water is perfect with little to no shells or seaweed (at least when we were there). There is a small sandbar area just before the buoys that you can swim out to which is fun. There is organized volleyball and soccer on the beach every day which our kids loved. It is a decent walk to the beach so keep that in mind if you struggle to walk longer distances or have small children. There is a golf cart shuttle but it has select hours, only fits 7 people, and only 1 shuttle runs. There were literally always people waiting for the shuttle and we witnessed people cutting each other off to get a ride. They could have 2 or 3 of these running at a time.

There is a lot to do between the resorts and their entertainment.
We took 2 $10 USD cabs into town to shop, ferry to Cozumel and back which made for a really fun day. The Riu Neon Party was awesome. It was like being at a club. They setup a lot of pop up bars and you never had to wait for a drink despite so many people being there. It was kid friendly and our kids had a blast. There is a Starbucks, 7-11, and lots of small shops right next door within walking distance.

We love Riu, and we had an amazing time at Riu Tequila. From the spacious room, tasty food & cocktails, friendly staff, entertainment, to the beautiful beach - everything was great. We appreciated that we could freely use the facilities of neighbouring Riu hotels - specifically the Yucatan beachfront bar.

We definitely recommend Riu & we’ll be back soon. 💕

Really excellent Hotel to have a relaxing vacation. Really good sports activity, excellent evening shows, really friendly and helping staff (special thanks to Henrry for cleaning our room). The whole Hotel area was awesome with four pools. Food was excellent in all those restaurants. Would easily loved to stay more than our 12 days. No need to worry anything, just relax and enjoy.

There is not enough to say about how wonderful this resort was to stay at. From the time we checked in until the time we checked out, we had a great time.

The service was very friendly. Everyone was so polite, helpful and happy. We enjoyed interacting with the employees as they helped make the location fun.

The rooms were very clean. Every day they would be swept and mopped with the beds being moved to ensure every part was cleaned. We always came back to a friendly towel animal as well as a clean, organized room.

The amenities are amazing as well. Everything included is always a plus but Riu Tequila seemed to go above and beyond. We enjoyed everything about this resort and trip. We plan to visit a Riu resort again in the near future.

My husband and i took the all inclusive package for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. The check in was smooth, our room was spacious but a little outdated but that was fine since it was clean and well maintained. They have 1 main restaurant that serves all 3 meals in buffet style, the selection of food is very wide but i would rate the taste 3.5 /5 . They also have 3 speciality dinner restaurants which don't need prior reservations : Bamboo ( Not good) Rinascita ( average) Black cow ( best of all 3) They have a sports bar open 24hrs and has sandwiches and hotdogs that we picked up for our flights since we had an early morning pick up. They have Pacha the club within the property which was amazing at night! we were so entertained in our 4 days we didn't leave the property to go to the city! The beach was just amazing , super clean and enough sunbeds, the beach access is not on the property but across the street with the other Riu properties but its only a short walk and they have buggies all day. loved our stay and will defo recommend others :)

Excellent hotel. Rooms lack a little soundproofing, and whilst updated are worn in areas. HOWEVER, staff are brilliant, the drinks flow, and there is always something to do (or not if you want to lounge). Short walk to the beach (don't believe those who say it's a long walk no more than to reception, across the road and 200 yards on).

I cannot describe how happy we are with our stay at Riu Tequila. We were pleasantly surprised by how well the hotel is maintained and cleaned daily. The hotel staff is fabulous, all of them are smiley and helpful hardworking people. The hotel has a good entertainment program and I would say it is the best of the nearby Riu hotels. We enjoyed our stay and will visit again

Currently staying at the tequila in playa car, for two weeks. Our 1st week is nearly over. I cannot express enough how extremely happy we have been, all the staff go above and beyond, the food is unlimited, choice is amazing. The house keeping staff omg are second to none, all staff very friendly and take pride in their job roles. We are very pleased and so glad we chose the tequila. Would highly recommend 👌
