Yucatek Divers

We dove with Yucatek last week for the 3rd trip to Playa, as usual they paired us with a personable and knowledgeable diver and we had an amazing few dives. Their prices are very reasonable, and their shop is very welcoming. We feel safe diving with Yucatek and always enjoy the crew that they pair us with. He truly has a passion for his job and the business. You will not be disappointed with Yucatek. I did the amazing cenote dives and the ocean dives. All are fantastic and if you are looking for cave or cavern instruction, I do not think there is anyone more qualified in the area then Vincent is. I highly recommend entrusting your diving at Yucatek. Safety is his #1 concern and you will enjoy every dive.

We were diving twice, first reef then cenote, and we both felt we were in very good hands. Safety and well-being are top priority, equipment is new, dive groups are kept small, prices are fair (no hidden costs), dive master is Swiss with lots of experience. Most of all the owners Vincente & Maryline are very friendly, act responsibly and treat everybody respectfully. Highly recommened.

I found out about Yucatek when a friend wandered in by happenstance about a year ago. Since then, I've always come back to Vicente (new owner along with his wife Maryline, he's a former Swiss police diver with more than 6000 dives) for fun dives. He's extremely personable, fun to dive with, and very safety oriented, but also really good at pointing out small details like Mayan artifacts, sea life, sleeping sharks, etc. He's dived with several friends of mine who are relatively new to diving, whereas I'm a technical rebreather diver, yet he always tailors the perfect dive to everyone's respective level (both cenote and ocean diving) and makes sure it's fun and safe. He also speaks English, French, German and Spanish, and has an adorable rescue dog named Pancho. Can't recommend them enough and can't wait to dive with him again!

Best choice I made in this holiday was cenote diving with this diving school. I am not an experienced diver and he told me it will be hard and he will not take another customer with an unexperienced diver. So he did an special event only for me and I noticed how he canceled other customers who asked for the same day.

I talked to others divers (who booked another diving school) and they told me about how great the cenote diving was. But I noticed that they all didn't do the whole cenote, only the entrance. They never were deep into the cenote. So while other tell you they will show cenote diving, this diving school is actually going to.

Gabi is the best. Come here if you seriously want to learn more about diving in a profound way. She pays respect to all the details and you can really see it being her passion to teach and dive.
While many other diving instructors out there simply rush in and out, at Yukatek you will be able to spend way extended time underwater and with patience worship all details which you otherwise miss to see.

Had two awesome days here, Gabi even speaks German and showed me all the fishes we have seen in a book later. Highly recommended!
