My first Thompson hotel was in Los Cabos and it was a spectacular experience. The Playa location is far more low key and less luxurious, but I enjoyed good service, quality food and delicious cocktails.

View could be better but there’s not much they can do about that now.

Alessia is to the right of “The Catch” as soon as you get out of elevator and the menu changes daily to different cuisines. Not overly busy and a relief from the obnoxious loud tunes at street level.

I don’t know where to start. Perfect flavors, this place is 20/10! Amazing, would recommend to everyone who is looking for a great dinner. Sushi is so good! Everything in the menu is amazing. Bute the mac&cheese, tuna and fries were really good too. The special thing is the view over Playa. It's a good place to just eat, drink and enjoy the view. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Food was delicious here! My photo of the truffle sashimi isn’t the best but it tasted so good. We ended up ordering two more of it because it got devoured so quickly. Their other menu items are just as tasty. Service was excellent. They came around to fill our water glasses and checked on us regularly. Ultimately, we really enjoyed our dinner here. Will definitely return when I’m back in Playa del Carmen!

This place was the first nice restaurant for our PDC trip. We heard many great things about it and it was all true! The atmosphere of the place was nice and very romantic. Oscar, the manager, will take great care of all the customers and ensure everything (food, environment and hooka) is up to par.

Some of the pics from our dinner is below. The tuna was SO delicious. I believe it was the tamarind butter sauce! If you haven't tried this place, put it on your list ASAP!

Great seafood. Had the seabass and my friend had the salmon which was even better. Both come with a salad/garnish. Grilled broccoli was just OK as side dish. Parmegiana fries were good. Definitely recommend.

Reservations are required, but worth it. A spectacular covered rooftop restaurant rewards with attentive Manager Paola running a well-trained staff from chef to waiter assistants. Noe made excellent recommendations of the mushroom pasta and crispy shrimp. I found the spinach salad with artichokes topped with truffles amazing! A perfect dressing. The churro sphere deep-fried and filled with ice cream was a suitable desert for a great meal.

We really were happy to find this rooftop restaurant over looking playa for our last night.

Our waiter Mario was very sweet and gave us many recommendations of things to try.

The beets salad was so needed after a few days of eating heavier food. The goat cheese foam was awesome.

The macaroni and lobster cream was good the texture a little harder than desired but still flavorful.

The view and ambiance alone are perfect for a date night or a night cap to watch the sunset.

Catch is one of the best restaurants I have been in Playa. The service was over 5 stars, such an attention to details and done with heart from Luis and Alexis. They made us feel like Queens, my two friends here surprised me. I am kind of a fussy eater and the chef came out to make sure he understood my request. The food was so so good. I highly highly recommend Catch.. I will definitely come back.. Thank you for a memorable evening. We truly appreciated it..

Without any doubt this is the best hang out roof garden with high end services in the Riviera Maya. This is it!. Yes. Do not even look at the prices. This is not for budget traveling.

This restaurant needs an extra star for the quality and overall atmosphere.. the menu is amazing.
We ordered a lot fo different dishes and micology cocktails.. everything surpass the expectaton..
The pool bar was closed at the time but it is awesome.. the view..
The staff is very friendly, helpful and always interested in enhancing your experience at Playa.. this place is a MUST!!!

Best place to relax during the day in Playa. Awesome tunes (house, electronic), excellent service, and really fair pricing. If you’re not in the mood to listen to rap and hip hop all day, and love the best view in the city, this is the place for you. Bonus points for no minimum spend, and lots of available cabanas (unlike Coralina, which we also visited).

Our server both visits was Janet, who was super friendly and helpful. (Thanks for taking good care of us!)

Final note - the DJ’s both days killed it. Not huge crowds, but they had us moving.

Oscar was an excellent waiter and really made our dining an amazing experience! Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a chill spot with amazing views!

Love this place! Best sushi in Playa. Amazing views during the day! Try the Wagu Gyoza, the Caviar Sashimi, the Truffle Snapper. The catch roll and catch me drink are classics. They bill in USD so it's a bit expensive but totally worth it. They have good music also.

Stunning! The view, the food, all is amazing. Top end venue, expect high quality prices. Sunsets are a must at this place

If you’re looking to treat yourself to a nice dinner in Playa this is the place!
They have a pool (although we were told it closes at 6, we came in after 6 and saw people swimming)
and a nice view of playa from the roof top restaurant! The staff went above and beyond, wiping up every little spill or crumb. They made sure all our needs were attended to.

The ceviche and tartare were delicious and surprisingly filling!
We loved everything about this restaurant!

If you've never been to the Thompson in Playa, it's really sleek. Catch is located on their rooftop so the views are spectacular. Special shouthout to Baltazar for providing such great service on this visit to one of my favorite restaurants in Playa. Great food, drinks, and service!

My steak was cooked to perfection, the guest with me enjoyed a finely marinated Salmon. Parmesan truffle fries are a must. Cocktails were flavourful too! Best meal you will have in Mexico, period.
