We tried the pollo and carne asada empandas with cheese (con queso), salbute barbacoa, and pechuha de pollo taco. The empandas were very good, soft , great flavor, and not too greasy. The salbute barbacoa was very tender with great flavor. The pollo taco was okay. I would definitely recommend giving the empandas and barbacoa a try!

I've been in Playa just over a month now and you are spoilt for choice with places to eat here...

I've been to a wide variety of Mexican food places, for tourists, local, high end, street food, cafes.... But I have to say, this place has become my firm favorite....

I just happened to come across it one day exploring the back streets beyond 5th and 10th and thought I'd give it a go... Glad I did...

It's local and rustic, but clean with nice attentive staff. Good selection of drinks and wide selection of dishes on the menu.

The food is fresh, not greasy and they even make their own fresh tortillas in house.You can see the lady in the back corner preparing them each day by hand...

All of the dishes I have tried are delicious but I have to say my favorite is their Chorizo Tacos. Sublime.

I eat here pretty much daily and never really see many other Westerners/tourists here, mainly locals... So I'm guessing it's a bit of a hidden gem!

After searching for a great local spot. This was absolutely the right fit. Street tacos with the best flavor, price, and location. It’s a must stop.

So delighted! Authentic mexican restaurant. All the antojitos taste so delicious. I can't wait to come back and taste them again. The beef consomé is so good. If you have handover I really recommend it.

Excellent place, make sure you try the sopa de cabeza, don't worry it's just a name! It's not like they make tacos al pastor out of pastors!

The best more humble and delicious place to eat tradicional Mexican food you can find it all here I always come and never had a problem with the food or the staff family friendly love this place to eat all times of the day.

Tamale and empanadas are soooo good!

This is a great local spot. It's small and simple, nothing fancy. But the food is excellent, authentic Mexican food. During both our visits, local folks were constantly coming up to the window to order food to take home, which is always a good sign. And it's super super cheap, $1 tacos.

Great local restaurant, the food was amazing!!! Everything we orderes was freshly made and delicious. The 12 of us arrived and they kindly accomodated our large group. The service was excellent as well.

SUCH GOOD FOOD! Can't go wrong with anything, and I do advise trying it all! The juices are refreshing too! And the price, you just can't beat it! We ate here several times during our stay! Eat here!!!

Small restaurant serving amazing food. Picked up a pastor torta and pastor, carne, and queso empanadas. All very fresh and delicious! Also, at a gear price. Please try it out!

The food is homemade, affordable and delicious. I wasn't familiar with all the items on the menu and the girl taking our order was very helpful in explaining a few things. The food is truly typical to the region; a must!

After discovering this place by accident, as somewhere to hide during a tropical storm, this quickly became our absolute favorite spot for real Mexican food in Playa! The food is just unbeatably delicious, you can tell it’s made from scratch with love. The servers are really friendly and helpful. We loved the horchata there :-)

Authentic and affordable (relative to the area), got a tasty pastor torta and empanada de queso de bola to-go while walking to the nearby ADO bus station, it was a perfect snack for the journey. Also a good sign: the crowd was composed mostly of locals
