I cannot understand previous negative comments at all. We received great customer service and the employees did everthing to help us. Of course you should read the legal stuff first when booking via a 3rd Party website and of course you should take pics of your car when you pick it up (they even tell you to do it so that there are no arguments later on). Overall you cannot go wrong with the guys here if you just do your research first. I was also concerned after reading the comments here but it seems some people have never travelled outside their own country...show respect and you will get it in return.

I made reservation and payment in advance through web page. I arrived to the office one hour earlier employees were so kind they said no problem they gave me the car earlier.

They insisted not to choose chinese BAIC car but I wanted to test it, next time I wont do it for its mileage is too low and it is very noisy. No Bluetooth or USB ports.

Europcar is the company I will choose again next time when I travel.

We booked directly on their website before seeing all the negative reviews but we had a great experience.
The office is only a short walk from the cozumel ferry, the staff was friendly and spoke very good English and the car was in good shape with no problems.
No hidden fees, no hassle when we dropped the car off and our deposit was fully refunded.
I can't account for the bad reviews, maybe it is a different experience if you book through a 3rd party?

Had an absolute seamless rental here, air conditioned waiting office, polite and extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. Was late for my rental due to a delayed flight, guys explained it would take a bit of time due to my contract being cancelled for no show, but sorted out within the hour and I got better car instead. Real heros. My Chevrolet car was brand new and immaculate, it has built in sat nav and also android auto. explained I had my own insurance, they asked to see it. No problems, took a large deposit, 100% of it refunded instantly within an hour of returning the car. Very competitively priced and well located hire depot. Also right by a taxi rank for easy travelling onwards to next destination. 10/10

Super fast service, nice employees, clean car - even better than we expected. For the price id definitely choose them again next time. Friendly approach and even though we received a ticket for parking they helped us on whatsapp where to pay for it. Also the return of the initial fee was returned within days without any issues. So satisfaction on our side.

As with any rental car company, I recommend making a video when you receive and hand over the vehicle. then there are no problems. the deposit was unblocked quickly. Thanks!

Great reputable company, all as was expected, no mexican surprise hidden costs like in MexRent

These guys came through in the clutch. They had a reliable car ready to go with very little hassle. The staff was friendly and willing to work with me to get me a car on short notice. The price was amazing($ 150 for 4 days!!) The insurance hold was very high(800$ USD) but the hold was released with 3 days of returning the car as promised.

We had a great experience with Europcar in Playa! We rented a car for 12 days in April and I did not experience anything of what is described in the negative comments below. I found the employees all very helpful, they spoke good English, didn't try to sell us any extra insurance and even when you handed in the car you noticed that these people did not focus on making money on a scratch or somsthing at all. They were just the most relaxed and lovely people I've come across with car rental companies. The car itself was also perfect, it was brand new, drove very well, was clean and tidy, had bluetooth connection for the music and a very strong and fast air conditioning.

We rented a car for the day to take 7 of us out to Tulum. My experiences both picking up the car and the drop off were excellent! The employees were friendly, helpful, transparent, and kind in explaining everything. We rented a minivan with full insurance, and while pricy, gave us peace of mind. And again, the staff were lovely and I would rent from this office again. Thank you!

There was an issue that panicked us - the drop off in playa del Carmen was selected at Blue Bay there was no other option available when we booked and when we got there the staff said there is no one there from Europacar, we phoned them and they said we can drop off the car at their office in Playa del Carmen.

Rented a car twice from Europcar in the span of two weeks and it was a wonderful experience. Get the higher insurance for peace of mind. Luis was super helpful and kind, and great to talk to! Give this guy a raise!! Thank you for a great rental experience in Playa Del Carmen.

I was alone with two little children for holidays in Mexico. To be honest I was sooo afraid to rent a car in Mexico. At the other side I was curios to explore it. So I told my fears to the employees at Europcar. They were so nice. They gave me maps and explained me the driving rules. Also I became a upgraded better car than I booked online.Than my vacaiton started and we had the most beautiful time of our life. I didn´t have any problems with the car or the payment.
