Marquee Playa Hotel

Really nice for the price I paid. The rooms are a bit dated. But they are clean and comfortable. Nice size as well. Rooms views not so great. But the rooftop views make up for that. The guy at front desk was super sweet and informative. Location was key to everything. Breakfast included. Thank you.

We had a weekend long stay at the property. Rooms were very clean and felt modern and recently upgraded. Small balcony is there for outdoor views. Pool are on the roof was very nice with a great ocean view.
Location is great for walking to the 5th avenue, beach and restaurants. If you are renting a car, street parking is 10pesos/hour (payable at the parking meter) and free from 10PM to 10AM. If you can't find a spot, there is a 24 hours parking garage a block away. We did not go for their breakfast so cannot comment.
In the reviews, some people have complained about the noise from nearby party places. Honestly, we did not have any noise problems at all and we stayed through the weekend.
There was somebody 24/7 at the reception to let you in in late evening/early morning hours so no issues there either.
We will stay again here if visiting PDC.

I loved, loved, loved my stay here! It was close to everything and IMHO, it wasn't loud from Coco Bongo across the street. If It was bothersome, they have earplugs and a white noise machine. The food was delish and the hotel itself smelled absolutely amazing! The rooms are gorgeous as well!

we did not stay at this hotel but had a few drinks at the roof top bar. Roy was our bartender and he was super nice and friendly. The drinks tasted great, I prob had the best classic lime magarita here!
Don't forget their BOGO drinks deal everyday from 7pm to 9pm.
Don't forget to tip your bartender and waiter in cash!

Gorgeous upscale chic hotel! My boyfriend and I came her for a week away from home, and honestly it felt like home for the time we were there. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and prompt. The staff was fluent in English so it made it a lot easier to communicate. We had inquired about excursions, and they had someone available to provide us with pamphlets and details about the excursions as well as help booking. Every morning we enjoyed a gourmet breakfast in the hotels lounge, the menu had a great selection with a special of the day feature which I really enjoyed. I was able to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee as soon as I sat down as the waiter was extremely prompt! The hotel had unique and elegant touches throughout, which gave it an opulent feel. When we wanted to relax there was a stunning rooftop pool with comfy lounge beds, sun loungers in the pool and a bar. The bartender made exquisite cocktails! Location of this hotel another bonus as it is just a few minutes from 5th Avenue. Being it was located so close to downtown I was extremely impressed how quiet it was even though it was Spring break. If you are looking for a place to stay in Playa Del Carmen I would highly recommend this hotel. We will definitely be coming back!!

Lovely boutique hotel and amazing staff. If you are looking for a fancy hotel with personalized service look no further. The staff makes you feel like home, the rooms are very spacious and nicely decorated. The roof bar and pool area it’s a bit small but it has all you need. Breakfast is really good too!

This hotel is spectacular. It has prime location, even though it's not on the beach, the location is just perfect. Upscale boutique hotel with amazing breakfast that already included in your stay. To be honest, feels like a chef level breakfast. Ekaterina from the front desk is absolutely adorable. You can ask her for anything and you will always get what you need. The bed and the shots, OMG this is a total WOW. Whoever designed this hotel, thought of everything, every small detail. The rooms are large with a beautiful design. Absolutely an amazing chic hotel.
And the top is the pool and the roof top bar. Tony the bartender, he is absolutely amazing. He really makes the best drinks ever. This is insane. Always takes care of you with exceptional service. This place is a must!!!

Gorgeous new concept boutique hotel. Outfitted with the most beautiful finishes. Room is spacious and very intimate. Service has been above and beyond. The shower was very soothing and relaxing with a rainfall shower-head. The bedding and mattress have supreme quality. I slept very well. The location is perfect. Short walk to fifth avenue shopping, tons of restaurants, and to the beach. Breakfast provided was delicious. This is truly an extraordinary hotel and I hope to return again!

Cons: it can be noisy at night - there were earplugs in the rooms, that is what they are for.

The Marquee is a very nice boutique hotel. The designs are sleek and modern when first entering. They have an iPAD to check in on and an attentive front desk who speaks english as well. The front desk showed us to our rooms and gave us a tour inside (which might not be the best considering COVID times but appreciate the hospitality). The room was very clean, bed was comfortable, sheets were soft, and the room was spacious for 2 people (we had the king bedroom). Room looked just like the pictures. We did not experience the pool or rooftop bar because the bar was not open yet so can't speak on that too much. The are was kind of smaller than I'd like it to be but still nice. I will say when we checked in there was an issue in price (I was supposed to stay at the Calixta down the street but it was closed during COVID) but it was remediated quickly and thoroughly! So customer service here is top notch. All employees wore masks and there was hand sanitizer present at the front desk. We did not have housekeeping come in our rooms during out stay due to COVID.

One con is what other reviews wrote below me: noise. The walls are thin and you can hear all the noise outside and inside the hotel. There was a bar with a live band our first night so we could hear all of that and just people talking outside so if you are a light sleeper this might not be the best place. Other than that our stay was perfect!

I had an AWESOME stay at Marquee Hotel thanks to the wonderful Jahaziel!!! (Sorry if I misspelled but I tried really hard 😊 you were so great, thank you for going above and beyond to help with getting around PCD and Tulum). Perfect location. Super clean and modern rooms. Breakfast is really good - photo is of the huevos claros dish. Cafe staff super nice too. Staff helped to book a transfer from the airport for when I arrived late at night.

Fantastic! Great location, Great Food & Great People. It’s small but that’s okay. Great music playing. It’s quiet which I like, there was around 4 people there when we were there. 75 pesos for a beer. FAST INTERNET. Nice sunbeds in the water.

They have a net of 3 hotels in Playa del carmen: Marquee, New port beach and Calipsa. It’s simple and luxurious. They thought about every detail: a bag with towels for the beach, earbags if the noise from Coco Bongo is too load and ect. Their staff is nice and really likes to help in anything they can. Strongly recommended. We booked a day before and had a good price

Beautiful rooftop bar with a kind and helpful staff. Came for a special party on the roof and it was amazing energy! Didn't get to stay at the hotel.

Really nice place there is parking next to it I like the cleanliness the beds are superb good air conditioning good food and drinks and the staff knowledge you at all times the roof has a pool with the view of the beach I highly recommend Hotel !

Magnifique! Perfect location. 2 minutes walking distance from the entertainment district. The suite is just breath taking. 5 Star Hotel.

Very Comfortable and staff very nice and helpful, close to great restaurants and shopping. A little expensive for size of the room.
