The Palm at Playa

Nice hotel, great location, reasonable price. Great housekeeping staff. The only thing that I felt was a bit annoying was the fact that the security guard at the door who works there during the day kept asking to see the bracelet. I understand it's a security policy, but he had seen us a few times and we had even exchanged pleasantries. Which hotel expects its guests to wear a bracelet all day?

I stayed at this hotel in room number 4 on the ground floor for a week. it was a wonderful room, everything was very clean. The room had a kitchen and all the necessary utensils to cook, there was also a large refrigerator. The room consists of two huge rooms - a bedroom and a separate living room - you can easily accommodate four people. Also the room was very quiet although nightclubs and entertainment were not far away. The hotel is located one block from the main walking street, and also 8 minutes to the beach. Very convenient location. It is also close to a bus stop where you can catch a bus to Cancun Airport. Also 10 minutes away there is a ferry to Cozumel, you can plan a trip to the island for the whole day. It’s very cool to swim there and see the island. The only problem was that the toilet leaked a little in our room, but this did not spoil our impression. The staff is very responsive and polite, this hotel seemed to me like an oasis in the middle of the city. Walmart is also about 10 minutes away, which also helps a lot if you want to cook in your room yourself.

Very friendly staff and good service. There is a beautiful garden enclosed in the building. The rooftop with a bar, a restaurant, and a pool is nice for cooling off, having a drink, and a meal overlooking the view. The seafood was fresh, and the burritos were tasty. Superior location next to 5th Ave where all the entertainments are. They honored the VIP access offer the booking site provided, which is a plus.

Loved the location which is steps from the beach and in the middle of everything! Our room was immaculately cleaned and unbelievably spotless. The staff members at the hotel are so kind and helpful. Breakfast on the rooftop is delicious!

I was skeptical after reading all the bad reviews, I didn't know what to expect. The palm at playa exceeded my expectations such a pleasant surprise the location is prime, the room was huge and the parking on site was a great added bonus. Romeo the security was great always very attentative to our needs always greeting us with a smile. The pool in roof top is nice they offer and 2x1 happy hour drinks in Rooftop. Food in roof top is decent basic but you can find better food outside. Yes the hotel is a bit old so the furniture is not new or modern but everything was spotless. I stayed in Playa before and never been in such of spacious room with kitchen was nice. The hotel is close to everything and we always felt safe. the hotel does have several nightclubs just across the street and yes I could hear the music friday and saturday night but very far away since I had the indoor balcony in my room. on sunday nightclub was closed. If you are in a buget and looking for a nice hotel without breaking the bank The palm at playa is perfect. We will back soon

Beautiful boutique hotel, very well managed, located in the heart of playa del carmen, walk to all the bars/restaurants, shopping and transportation, bus station is 5 minutes walk. We booked the penthouse suite and it was newly renovated and with a large balcony and a small kitchenet. Very well managed hotel with a great staff. Checkin guy Ivan was great. Has an amazing experience with Sandra Lopas, the manager. Small things to rectify, she got it done very fast in no time. Great attitude and customer service. Few other employs that i felt were amazing and a asset to the company: Joseph, David in roof top bar, Moises in breakfast area.

I got day access to the pool (consumption) and it was awesome! Great way to escape the seaweed on the beaches. They had lounge chairs, umbrellas and great music.

The service is also amazing!! The whole staff from the front seat to the rooftop staff is super kind and helpful. Always checking on you making sure you have a great time. So happy I found this place!! The pool was MUCH NEEDED!

Stayed the weekend for a wedding and it was a wonderful experience. The room had a minor issue and it was resolved quickly. The hotel had very yummy breakfast on the rooftop and they have nightly events if you’re looking for something to do. There is the 5th Avenue nightlife close by but if you don’t want to leave the hotel they have plenty to do. Their entrance is closed after 11 and you need to ring doorbell to enter which made us feel very safe. Overall great experience. Special thanks to Moises for being so helpful and communicative.

We stayed here for 10 days and it was a really pleasant time here. Sandra and all the other staff were very nice and accommodating. Sandra is so welcoming and warm you feel like you are talking to your favourite aunt.
If you are sensitive to noise ask for a room that doesn’t face the street, our room was facing the street and some of the nights was a little loud but overall great and the room was very spacious.
The breakfast was included in our stay and it was pretty good and fresh.
The rooftop is beautiful for days you want to stay back and relax.

This place is conveniently located to all the action. It appears to be a safe place to stay. The concierge Sandra is AMAZING! We had many requests and she always came through. I give this place a great rating but be forewarned:
#1. The music is very very loud from the rooftop and goes on until 2-3am. If you don't like music and thumping DJ DO NOT stay here.
#2. Housekeeping will take your towels, washcloths, and hand towels when they service your room. This DOES NOT mean they will leave replacements! You may have to get replacements in the EVENING.

We stayed a week here. Very clean room. Any issues staff took care of it right away. Noise at night we hardly heard it. Our stay was very positive. Staff is attentive n courteous. Close to beach n restaurants. I’m staying there again for sure.

This place is a must stay. It's located within a few feet of the main strip (Centro), and the staff is fantastic. Can't say enough good things about the staff. Sandra was the best, and the diner crew was so friendly and personable. They have a rooftop bar/pool area with a kitchen and music. Some of the most fun we had in Playa Del Carmen was here, because they help facilitate a very welcoming atmosphere. There was a pop-up model show, and it seems like they have random events fairly often. The room was awesome, and even though there wasn't much of a view, the amenities and staff more than made up for it. Sandra at the front was so insightful and helpful with suggestions and assiting with our itinerary. If you're balling on a budget, this place is definitely worth the money.

Great location! We live in the area so this is one of our go to spots to enjoy the rooftop pool. The food is good and the rooms are clean.

I stayed here for the last leg of my trip and truly I couldn’t have chosen a better place. Safety was top notch, there was someone at the front gate at all times. Being right near 5th ave was amazing, great access to all nightlife, shopping, and local food and restaurants. I am from New Orleans so the noise, partying, or daily sirens to clear people from the street did not bother me at all. Rooftop pool with spectacular views, great drinks. Staff was amazing, Emmanuel, Yuri, and other colleagues gave 5 star service at all times. I will be returning!

My sink was leaking water onto the floor. Hotel room seemed a bit outdated for the price. I probably will stay at another hotel next time. The Pool day pass was the best part! Service was excellent. DJ was really good as he played Reggaeton, top-40, Salsa, Cumbia, funk and little house and techno towards the end of the night. Will definitely return. 👌

Such an amazing hotel but what really made it special was the staff. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly throughout our 5 day stay. I booked this trip last minute with nothing planned. Saundra made sure we had something fun planned each and every day. She gave outstanding recommendations for where to get the best coffee, the best snorkeling excursion, most beautiful Cenote’s and much more. Nic at the desk was always a warm smile and welcoming demeanor each evening.

Shout out to the amazing bartenders and servers on the rooftop! They welcomed us like friends each day.

Very nice hotel. The cleanliness is excellent, the room is super well equipped, the hotel is beautiful, the rooftop with bar and pool is just a paradise with a superb view. The only drawback are the two showers open on the room. It's a very good idea when we come as a couple, but when we come with family or friends, it's really not practical.
