For me it is a good place for overlooking the valley the view are really amazing.There are alot pagoda and so many historical stories

Pretty & Divine place. One gets a scenic view of terrain around the hill. We need to climb the hill by vehicle.
The Pagoda is surrounded by many shops below.
We saw moderate crowd on Saturday morning. It did not take much time to visit this place.
Due to shortage of time to cover other places at Bagan, we could not remain at the top scenic view point for longer time. But it is worth staying a minimum half a day at Popa!

Great view from the top. Shoes are not allowed going up. Must keep antibacterial wet wipes and sanitizer handy for your feet. You'll encounter a lot of monkeys. Make sure to keep sunglasses, food, and drinks away from them. 777 steps going up.

Well worth the trip. I went there without any expectations and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience

Really nice experience, 777 steps sounds hard, but its wasn't. Mostly locals and Burmese people, not many tourist wich was nice. Defenatly recomend comming here!

Set atop what was once a volcano, this is a place where the Nats, or the ancient spirits were worshipped before the advent of Buddhism in the region. The guardian spirit of Mount Popa is that of a woman who was performing penance in the area. The prince of the kingdom fell for her when he came on a hunting trip. They married and she begot two sons. The king of the region subsequently came and took back his son and two grandsons. Heartbroken, this woman passed away here.
It is a steep barefoot climb of 777 steps. Multiple chatters of monkeys inhabit the place. A group of people are constantly cleaning the monkey litter on the stairs. It is advisable not to feed the monkeys, although it is common practice to do so.
People make offerings to earn merit and also to seek protection from any mishaps or untoward situations.
A place to visit as a pilgrim to appreciate the veneration of the locals and imbibe it , rather than as selfie crazy tourists , as many who constrict their vision to mere scenic sights are wont to be .

We walked up to the top of Popa Taung Kalat this morning and it was fantastic. It is a rocky volcanic plug with a picturesque temple on top.
Myself and my brother are both reasonably fit and the walk up took us about 15 mins to the top. It was only hard in a few spots. There were a few crazy monkeys around but dont get to angry unless you pull out your phone and try and get a snap too close. Once out the top there are some great views and some great Buddha's to see. Definitely worth the visit if your in Bagan and want to checkout something different

It was a great experience. Climbed 700 stairs and have to be careful of the monkeys.Shopping along the way. I loved that the clumb was under shelter.

Beautiful place and alot of monkeys around steps. Peoples there is so much kinds. Importance have alots Buddha there. Good for pray. AMEN
